The front desk staff were great. The food is fine. The pool is nice. The rooms at the Coba are garbage. Black stuff coming out of their highly advertised jet tub (even after two full runs through it with the water). Loose tiles in the bathroom and about 26 degrees Celsius in the room (no ac control). Again for the price we assumed AC was included but I did not read the reviews well and apparently some rooms have no AC, some have a little, and some have too much? I am sorry I listened to my travel agent and booked this place.

Mar 27, 2026Beautiful Resort, Amazing Team, and a Truly Memorable Holiday
We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful resort. The entire place was spotless, and the grounds were absolutely stunning, everything was so well maintained. Our room was immaculate and very clean; although the décor was a little dated, it didn’t affect our comfort at all. When the reception team realised I couldn’t manage the stairs to the third floor, they immediately moved us to a ground‑floor room without any fuss. They were incredibly helpful and understanding. The food overall was lovely with plenty of variety, and there was always something for everyone. The à la carte restaurants were excellent, but it’s definitely worth noting that reservations book up very quickly. You can book through the app up to 10 days before you arrive, but if you struggle to secure a slot before you arrive, I’d highly recommend visiting Guest Services as they were brilliant at organising bookings for us. The entertainment team was truly outstanding. Eder, Antonio, Hannah, Jonathan, “Tom Cruise,” and the rest of the team (far too many to list!) were absolutely fabulous. They made such an effort to talk to everyone, making guests feel comfortable, included, and part of the fun. They were all genuinely hilarious, especially during the pool/poolside games. The DJ who supported the daytime entertainment was fantastic too, with spot‑on musical cues and sound effects that made the games even funnier. I have been on lots of holidays and they were by far the best entertainments team with the best programme by far and would say they are a credit to the hotel. The evening entertainment was also good especially the silent disco! I would also recommend the Mexican Festival which is held at the Hacienda on a Saturday evening (extra charge of about £20 but well worth it), the trolley buses will take you there. The trolley buses were a great touch and made it really easy to get around the resort, giving us the chance to see more of the beautiful grounds. They would also take you to the à la carte restaurants in the sister hotels. Overall, we had an excellent holiday. The staff, food, entertainment, and atmosphere all made it a memorable stay. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the resort and would happily return in the future.

Mar 25, 2026Coba has transformed into a second class resort.
The quality has declined and cost cuts are definitely showing. The resort needs a facelift. The shell game of cutting the resort in half and giving it a refresh and calling it a new resort (Tequila Resort ) while letting the other half run down and decline is just that. The new resort has not physically moved and creates a definite 2 tier feeling. If you go to Coba, you will notice that they treat you second class. Fewer bell men, poorer quality buffet choices, poorer maintenance, reduced staffing longer line ups. Pet peeve of mine is the no Bacon for 9:00 policy and closing of one of 2 Omelette stations making line ups 30 people deep at times. This is my 4th visit sit to Coba and the decline is obvious!
