Average
The location is excellent, but here's my problem: Our bathtub/shower would not drain. We complained multiple times and it was never fixed. The service was very good, overall, especially Jose in the pool bar. He was great. Had it not been for the bathtub issue, I would have given a much better review. It's still a nice place, though. The only other thing that bothered me was the nickel and diming in regards to the "free" drink tickets you get daily. Why not just give you any drink you want?

Wendy was great.
Had issues with our initial room, but Wendy at the front desk was great and made it all right. But for those planning to stay, there are two different buildings with Stark contrasts. Do not, I repeat do not book at the marina building as you will be writing a negative review. Pay a little bit more for the tower with partial beach view and it will be great.

Cruise port stay
We usually stay at Bahia Mar each January when we cruise the Caribbean. The location is great- beach and marina views-close to restaurants on the beach and the cruise port. Beautiful hotel with great customer service. On our current trip, Lavonda, at the front desk, went above and beyond assisting in locating a room quickly as an individual in our party was not feeling well. It really made a difference.

Home away from home.....
From the moment I arrived to the moment I left, this stay truly felt like a home away from home. I especially want to recognize Reuben, who greeted me upon my departure. He was incredibly kind and warm, kept me company while I waited for my Uber, and then went out of his way to help me to my car. His genuine care and heartfelt hug goodbye meant more than he probably realizes—it was such a beautiful, human moment. I’d also love to compliment John Lewis, Client Ambassador, whose professionalism and warmth stood out. Truly, the entire staff—from the front desk to housekeeping and everyone I came in contact with—made me feel welcomed, comfortable, and cared for throughout my stay. This level of hospitality is rare, and it made all the difference. I can’t wait to return.
