The most relaxed I have been in a long while.
Incredible location/views, extremely nice staff, and very luxurious! This is a condo and not a resort. Do not expect the amenities of a hotel but it is incredibly nice and comfortable. There are plenty of restaurants, etc… within walking distance.

Mahana 115
This review is for Condo #115 only!!! We did not book a specific condo, and went through Aston Mahana with booking.com. We have stayed in #314 through Vacasa and it was great. We love Mahana, but some units are nasty. Now we know. This is the 3rd time we have stayed at properties managed by Aqua Aston Hospitality. Two of the three were dumpy, we will not be using them again. We reserved a 1 bedroom/2 bath oceanfront with Premium View. As soon as you walk into the door you're greeted by a musty smell, followed by outdated and dirty everything. I walked a bit on the floor barefooted and the bottom of my feet were black. There is dust collected on everything housekeeping can't reach, ceiling fans, wall hanging rods, back of mirror. The bedroom has clumps of dust hanging off popcorn ceiling, ceiling fan. The a/c vent blows onto the bedroom curtains and there are dusty black streaks on it. There was also a big dead moth on the curtains. Turned on the bedroom ceiling fan, the lights went out in bathroom. The comforter and shams are very worn and need to be replaced. Mattress is very hard. Knobs are falling off cabinets/doors. Some of the cabinets have locks (owners do this for their stuff) on them, but were left open. There's an open bottle of whiskey in one cabinet. There's a Keurig in the kitchen, and also a coffee pot with a couple packs of coffee, in the bread cabinet. The coffee pot had a half inch of coffee in it with mold on top. I took out placemats for the glass table outside, and there was mold on them also. Bad repairs of things that needed to be fixed. One toilet was constantly running. The gold hardware in bedroom bathroom is all tarnished. It was more comfortable for our guest to sleep on the sofa, then the pull out bed, which she tried first. And there was no blanket for sofa bed, we had to put a beach towel over to stay warm the first night. There is also and extremely heavy coffee table to move in front of sofa, takes 2 people to move. The washing machine has mold on the door. There is a note from the Findleys to please take care of their home, which is pretty insulting. The problem is they haven't taken care of it in a long time. It's too expensive for a dirty worn out condo. Have no idea when a deep cleaning was done, guessing never, or comforter washed...yikes! Again, this is for condo #115, please do your research and look at pictures of the unit you're renting, and read reviews. We did not bring any of this up to the people at the desk (who were very nice), with the exception of the blanket. They cannot do anything about the state of the condo, they don't own it. Mahana views cannot be beat, will stay here again, but will pick the unit ourselves. Mahalo

A most impressive Unit 717 at Mahana.
My husband and I are repeat customers of Mahana Unit 717. The first time we stayed 6 weeks and the second time we stayed for 4 weeks; never enough time though. This particular unit is impressive with its cleanliness, its decorations that are very Hawaiian right down to the decorative pillows, mugs, dishes, wall decor and the 2 white leather-like chairs with their own ottomans right in front of the living room floor to ceiling windows. If you go in the winter months you can watch whales and their babies jumping and slapping and just having fun. We have also watched an endangered seal park itself on the beach for a couple of days, turtles, manta rays, and spinning dolphins. You just want to sit in those two chairs and watch forever. This unit is supplied with everything that you have in your home. They have beach chairs and other sport items. And they have this desk that you can work on with your computer and when you get tired of sitting this desk raises up so you can then stand; who even thinks of an item like that. You are so central that you have all of the restaurants in a close area, food trucks, supermarkets, urgent care, etc. And lastly the owners of this unit can be reached at any time and are 2 of the most responsive "friends" we have ever dealt with. Do not hesitate to book this unit. We give it well over 10 stars. Mike and Donna Davis from Massachusetts.

All ocean front spectacular views
Booked through Costco but my wife already had stayed here before some 18 years ago. First the good. All the rooms are ocean facing, some 40 feet from the water and so they have some of the best views of any hotel here in Ka’anapali. You look down and can see turtles near shore, occasional bigger fish and whales in the not too distant ocean. Bring binoculars. You’re so close that you hear the waves breaking all day and night. Some might not like trying to go to sleep with the sound of waves but we love it. The room itself is fairly spacious, has a balcony, a small kitchenette, a smallish bathroom, compact washer and dryer(stacked) and 2 nice closets. It’s nothing fancy but is clean and works. Great location as you’re a 7 minute drive to Whalers village, 10 minutes to Nāpili-Honokōwai bay, 12 to Kapalua bay Plenty of free self parking. They have a concierge in the lobby who will book you on any type of tour. The bad is there are no blackout curtains so you get up with the sun. Also there is a warning not to leave food etc out as apparently it attracts bugs, although we’ve had no such problem. There’s no restaurant or bar, so no breakfast included. But you can walk few hundred feet on the beach to Dukes or short walk across the street to Java jazz or the food trucks adjacent to the hotel. In summary, you can’t beat the closeness to the sand or the views as a consequence. That to me trumps it all!

Perfection
The Sleep Number bed was the most comfortable bed I've ever slept on. The Mahana has incredible views. We watched the Whales and Turtles from our balcony. The Mahana is an amazing ocean front complex that is right on the water. We can't wait to go back.
