Good location!
The Waikiki Banyan (now Hawaiian Sun Holidays) offers a great central location, making it an excellent base for exploring Waikiki. While the timeshare units could benefit from some upgrades—particularly the flooring, furniture, sinks, and refrigerator—it was very convenient to have access to a kitchen during our stay, as dining out in Hawaii can be quite expensive. For groceries, Walmart, Foodland, and Safeway are easily accessible by car or bus, and Target is just a 20-minute walk away. The king bed and murphy bed were both extremely comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. The balcony was a nice feature, though it doesn’t get much direct sunlight due to an adjacent building. A big plus was the proximity to Waikiki Beach, just a two-minute walk away. The timeshare also provided beach essentials such as chairs, umbrellas, and floaties, which was a thoughtful touch. The recently renovated pool, hot tub, sauna, and shower area on the 6th floor were fantastic amenities to enjoy during downtime. I noticed some previous reviews mentioned insects, but I’m happy to report that we didn’t see a single one during our stay. Melissa Murray, the general manager, was incredibly efficient and helpful throughout our visit, making the experience even more pleasant. Nimfa also provided excellent assistance. Though we didn’t rent a car, getting around was easy with affordable and convenient public transportation ($3 USD). We also booked tours and airport transfers through Viator, which worked seamlessly. Overall, despite the unit needing upgrades, the location, amenities, and service made our stay at The Waikiki Banyan a memorable one. I’d recommend it for travelers looking for a centrally located and comfortable stay in Waikiki.

Hawaiian Experience at the Banyan
The resort is great, it is so centralized that you will always have something to do. The surrounding business and its proximity to the beach is wonderful. Their guest service is amazing and makes you feel so welcomed that you will never want to leave.

Older Hotel - Great Location
We recently had a pleasant stay at the Aston Waikiki Banyan. This is an older hotel & is showing its age. However it's clean & seems to be well maintained. It's in a great location; close to the beach, restaurants, The International Market Place & The Waikiki Market for shopping. All the staff we encountered were friendly & helpful. We had booked a deluxe ocean view, which was on the 37th floor. We are not accustomed to high rise living and we both felt very uncomfortable up so high, particularly out on the lanai. We requested another room. Lance, on the reception desk, worked very hard to find us another room available for our entire stay. We settled on a partial ocean view on the 25th floor, and were much happier. Mahalo Lance! The suite was a good size, with a separate bedroom area & a full kitchen which we really appreciated. The living room furniture looked a bit tired but was quite functional. There were several stains on the carpet but otherwise the suite was clean. The bathroom could do with some updating, but again was clean & functional. We enjoyed the pool. However, as older adults, we would have appreciated some adult only time. We thought the daily amenities fee of $34 was a bit steep for what it covered, but it's Honolulu! This is not a fancy resort hotel but then again you're not paying fancy resort prices. If in Honolulu again, we would probably return. Mahalo

COCKROACHES out of control here
Cockroaches out of control here. Especially at night crawling on countertops and in the shower. They were everywhere. Front desk no help. Said would send someone but problem never fixed. At check out told them again and seemed they are not on a spray program here.
