First time staying here and due to an error my original hotel that I planned on staying at was booked out. All the rest of my group were at the other hotel on the same road and this was the only one that had availability so this is where I ended up. The good- location was where I needed to be, balcony had a nice view of the water, Awesome view when exiting lifts on level 8, room had been modernised with comfortable bed and nice water flow in shower. All interactions with front desk were handled efficiently and all staff I came across were friendly. I think I may have stayed at a quiet time as I had not issue in getting a parking spot each day. The average- lifts were a hit miss, sometimes you needed to wait over 10 mins whilst other times they came quickly, not a huge issue but as I was meeting my friends outside I always had to allow extra time. no daily room cleaning- probably needs to be stated on the web page so you can decide whether that's not an issue for you personally. I had an 8 night stay so was entitled to 1 room refresh..on each floor there was a place you could take the trash, however that filled up quickly and you had to try and gauge when it was empty so you could dispose of your rubbish. The not so good- I was very happy there was a self serve laundry here however it is located in level 3 of the carpark, which is the same level anyone using I hop etc can also park. The room did not have a door or require swipe card ( like they do in every other place I have used) and I personally did not feel safe doing the washing as anyone could of been loitering around. Not sure if there is anything that could be done due to the set up.
Good for the price
Our first time in Hawaii and let’s face it, no where is cheap. This was great price wise in contrast to other hotels. A few blocks back from the beach but we had a partial sea view from the 8th floor. The road is busy but at the same time, the bus is right outside the door to Honolulu, Pearl Harbour, the airport etc. There are small supermarkets-ABCs close by and a really good supermarket in the Al Moana Centre (20 minute walk). Our room was modern and comfortable and we enjoyed sitting on the balcony and watching the world go by. There was an added bonus of washers/driers (paid) in the block and free coffee/dvds. The only negative was the lifts were painfully slow but that was hardly a problem. The staff were very nice though we didn’t have any room cleaning as we stayed less than 7 days.
The Aqua Palms is the best place to stay in Waikiki if your on a budget. Right across the street from the beach, free beach towels and chairs, ice, water, coffee, and great air conditioning! Way quieter than the hotels down the beach. We stay here every time we come to Oahu.
Great location, very friendly staff, room is a good size for two people, ac works great unlike other hotels we have stayed in.Would recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Oahu. There is a IHOP int same building.
This is my 3rd time staying at aqua palms. Very convenient location for my needs. Only downside is the elevator can be slow. Employees are great and responsive to my needs. Always had coffee and clean towels for my room. Enjoyed my stay at aqua palms.
