Dec 28, 2025Nice resort but has a few issues which made our stay disappointing.
I would not recommend staying at the Andaz for the following 3 reasons. Mandatory valet parking. Self parking is not an option. We through away $300 on parking (59 X 5). Car had bird poop all over the car on one occasion and another there was orange blooms from a tree that covered the car after a rain storm. Valet attendants never offered to clean off the car. Long wait to get seated for breakfast. Twice we had to wait 20-25 minutes before we were seated at our table. This is a buffet!!! Absolutely ridiculous to have to wait this long to get seated for a buffet breakfast. We served ourselves and really no need for a waiter/waitress. We stayed in room 525. Three rooms down the main hallway. Convenient, but the balcony was an issue. The left side of the balcony's had small metal poles which provided no privacy. Other guests checking in or just hanging out in the lobby could see directly into our balcony day or night. In the evenings we were also disturbed by other guest having dinner one floor below us under where guests check-in. Deck furniture was also very uncomfortable. We had to fold a towel and place on the chairs to make them more comfortable. Suggestion on the privacy issue on the balconies. Install a sheet of plexiglass where the metal poles are located and tint the plexiglass with very dark window film. This would be an easy and inexpensive solution to give guests some privacy on their balconies and not block the view. I am sure there are other nice resorts in the area that do not have the issues I have mentioned above.

Andaz Maui is such a lovely resort. The staff are TOP tier. So nice, so helpful and accommodating. The room we were in was great and eveything felt right in its place. The water bottles with water filling stations and the complimentary snacks are such a great touch when traveling with kids. Our room was a little loud in the evening but honestly it didn't effect our stay at all. I would recommend staying here to anyone I know or anyone who is on the fence. You won't be disappointed. It was genuinely a great start to our 10 year anniversary trip.

Andaz - Wailea Maui
This was our families 2nd time staying at the Andaz. The last time we stayed back in 2022, we were lucky enough to get upgraded to a villa. This stay we stayed in a suite with a kitchenette, dining room table, couch, 2 bathrooms, a shower and a bed. However we asked for the couch to be a pull out bed which worked well. The hotel was extremely clean and well maintained. However we went the week before christmas and it PACKED with tiny babies and children. Other than that I really have no complaints. The pillows aren’t the best quality but the beds are very very clean. Compared to the other resorts nearby, i also have to say that the Andaz has the best pool facility in the area. The other hotels don’t even compare. The cleanliness of the pool decks and the beach is truly incredible. Had a great stay and look forward to being back soon!

We got a poolside suite with a private plunge pool! It was right across from the adults only pool which we loved. The location was perfect for us to walk to the private beach too. The staff was great from check in to check out. We especially enjoyed eating at Morimoto!! The food was excellent. The food at the lobby level cafe/gift shop was really good too! Lastly, I forgot that I answered a question on the pre-arrival form that asked if we were celebrating anything, which we were (birthday), and there was a box of chocolates, and a nice bottle of champagne with two flutes waiting for us in the room at check in! Niiiiiice. The only experience that wasn't a 10, was the dinner at the Ka'ana. They may have been understaffed, I don't know, but my beautiful scallops were undercooked, sadly, and the dishes were not really cohesive overall.

Fire alarm at midnight
Fire alarm at midnight, I know that's probably not the hotel's issue, but after the alarm stops there are noises from the speakers last about 30 mins.
