Nice hotel, modern with great views from lobby
We stayed at the Andaz Maui for five nights and we found the hotel absolutely beautiful. The common areas of the hotel, including the lobby as well as the restaurants were stunning with beautiful vistas of the ocean and the three tiered pool which was really lovely. The rooms were very minimalistic and small and to me a bit disappointing, however, the bathroom was done beautifully and the rain showerhead in the large shower was excellent. Nothing makes me more crazy than not being able to wet my hair in a reasonable period of time under a shower, lol. We ate at two of the restaurants, Ka’ana kitchen and Morimoto both which were very enjoyable but Morimoto was excellent. There is a beautiful spa here, but we did not utilize it. There was also an outdoor poolside lounge which we were not able to enjoy due to the Kona low storm that impacted Maui with torrential rain. Pool chairs can be hard to find if you don’t get there early, but on the nicer days we had we were able to enjoy the pool a bit later in the day. Overall the Andaz is a beautiful hotel, I just wish the room vibe matched the rest of the hotel. Service was great, views were spectacular and I would definitely recommend this for a couples vacation.

Hyatt Andaz Maui -Disappointing
We stayed at the Hyatt Andaz in Maui, Hawaii in March 2026. I would not recommend this Hyatt. We’ve been to Maui multiple times and usually stay in the Hyatt Resort and Spa on the Kaanapali side of Maui. We highly recommend THAT hotel. It’s stunning. The grounds at the Hyatt in Kaanapali are beautiful with swans, flamingos and African penguins — stunning — and the pools there are beautiful and their staff so kind, always helpful and accommodating. NOT the case at the Andaz. The front desk is snooty and almost rude. This hotel is very small. Nothing special. The rooms small and the bathroom had one sink and one mirror and so narrow that when my husband and I were in there it was very crowded. Definitely wouldn’t work for a family! We were paying for an ocean view room and the view of the ocean WAS beautiful! That was the only positive thing, I’ll say. When spending $800+ a night we expected more. We’ve stayed at the Grand Hyatt in Kauai and the Hyatt in Waikiki during this trip - both exceeding expectations. Not so with the Hyatt Andaz. P.S. The bellmen were great. Very nice helpful and great personalities — the other employees should take note and try to be more like them.

Extraordinary Resort: All About the Exceptional Staffing
A first stay at the Andaz Maui Wailea decidedly did not disappoint: all aspects of the resort were simply extraordinary. Most impressive was the superb level of servicing: all interactions yielded conscientious, caring and helpful members of staff happily going above and beyond expectations. Management definitively have employed an exemplary and special group of personnel beyond what other five star establishments around the world have been able to recruit. With respect to the resort itself, despite its size, it yields the feeling of a much smaller personalized ambiance. The rooms are well appointed with a high quality of finish, while unfortunately like most Andaz's lack in drawer/storage space. Aside from that note, a simply first-rate, brilliant and incomparable resort coupled with a remarkable level of servicing. Looking forward to many a return engagement....
