Honest Opinion …Not Worth the Price

I had higher expectations for this hotel, especially considering the prices, but overall the experience did not feel worth the money. The food was disappointing and extremely expensive for the quality offered. The New Year’s Eve dinner cost $2,000, yet the dishes were dry and not particularly tasty. The dessert, made with gelatin, was especially underwhelming. Nothing about the meal justified the price. What disappointed me the most was the beach experience. Having to use a towel on the sand… felt unreasonable, and the hotel was clearly not prepared for the number of guests. There were not enough beach chairs available, which made it frustrating and uncomfortable. For a hotel positioned at this price level, I expected better organization, better food, and more attention to guest comfort. Unfortunately, that was not the case.

    Andaz stay as globalist.

Location & Vibe: This remains my favorite stay in Wailea. The location is perfect, situated near the Shops at Wailea and neighboring luxury heavyweights like the Waldorf, Fairmont, and Four Seasons. The Arrival: The view from the open-air lobby is still spectacular. Walking in and seeing the infinity pools frame the ocean is unmatched. The Globalist Experience (Anniversary Trip): I returned specifically for my anniversary. While the stay was beautiful, the administrative side was rocky. Check-In Timing: Do not expect to get in early here. We had to wait until 4:30 PM for our room. The "Phantom" Upgrade (Important Tip!): I saw a Suite assigned in my app, but while waiting, it refreshed and downgraded me to an Ocean View King. My Advice: Take a screenshot immediately if you see an upgrade. Because I noticed the switch, the staff addressed it and offered compensation. Room Condition & Bathroom: This is where the property is showing its age. Cleanliness vs. Function: The bathroom was clean, but the plumbing was frustrating. Both the basin and shower drained very slowly—it felt like a chronic issue rather than a one-time clog. Hardware: The hair dryer was too weak. For a high-end luxury resort, this amenity desperately needs an upgrade. Dining: Globalist Perks: We received 15% off at restaurants. The Breakfast: The buffet at Ka'ana Kitchen is excellent with an omelet station, BUT I was told specialty drinks (Americano/Latte) are NOT included in the Globalist benefit. This feels like a new, unfortunate change. Verdict: Andaz Maui is still beautiful, but between the upgrade glitches, slow drains, and nickel-and-diming on coffee, the "luxury" feel is slipping just a bit.

Very Hawaiian vibe in the best ways

Great resort in a beautiful location in Wailea. You are greeted with a lovely fresh orchid lei for ladies and the men get a painted nut lei. A wonderful Hawaiian welcome! At reception we were served a delicious pink lemonade. Although the resort has three good restaurants, as well as a terrific marketplace with sandwiches and gelato and things like milk and yogurt and pre made salads, you are within a lovely walk to shops and dining, not 10 minutes away. The Andaz subscribes to the concept of using local farmers and purveyors as much as possible, and wow, can you tell! The lettuce was over the top delicious! The rooms are nicely appointed with a modern Hawaiian feel. Nice amenities and as Globalists, we had snacks and non alcoholic drinks in our room replenished daily. The pools are pretty, but only one hot tub and that is always full of kids, which was a disappointment for us. There is a lovely "quiet" pool for adults, but no hot tub there. We were there for the beach and it did NOT disappoint! The beach guest crew were wonderful at getting chairs and umbrellas set up, (that is when guests hadn't reserved 6-10 chairs for their families, who never came to use them!) and the beach is great for walking and the water is absolutely gorgeous! They provide complimentary outrigger rides with reservations and it was a lot of fun. Snorkels, fins and paddle boards are also available at no charge. Just to the left of the resort's beach is a cove with rocks that was great for snorkeling. Staff was friendly, kind and accommodating, making us feel like valued guests.

Relaxation - Luxury - and EXCELLENT Service

The Andaz is outstanding! It is luxurious, spacious, has multiple pools with great views, and feels like paradise. The service is A+ on every level - whether it's for food, pool cocktails, cleaning staff, or the spa; every detail is taken care of and the staff was so friendly & accommodating. It feels like more of an adult vacation hotel, which is exactly what we wanted - not many kids running around, which is what we were looking for this trip since our group aged from 23 - 55. While other area hotels had more dining options, the Andaz offers free shuttle service to other area hotels or shopping - we always tipped our drivers since this was a nice perk so we didn't have to uber or drive. The villas are exceptional - great setup with spacious family space, laundry (stocked with supplies), full kitchen, and a stocked fridge of drinks/snacks. That small detail of not having to pay extra for a few bottles of water and laundry soap will keep me coming back! Plus, the villas are a great way to travel with a group or family of four like ours. WE loved it! I highly recommend the Andaz! It was perfect.

    Great resort for couples

Great for couples. Okay for family with kids . There were a few activities for kids and it was good. The room was more suitable for adults though we reserved it for adults + 2 kids with view to bathroom that can be operated from the room
