Lovely resort
We stayed here with our daughter and family in 2010 for a few days and then (it was an Occidental resort at that time) we were offered to go stay at the Occidental Xcaret resort. This resort, Allegro was getting a little tired, but very clean and respectable. The food was great and we were very happy there but the beach was quite rough while we were there and with 2 young grandsons couldn't let them in the water with red and yellow flags displaying. We knew that the Xcaret had a man-made beach, fed from the ocean and opted to go.

Our dream week at the allegro
Take your cash at the little ‘’shopping street’’ 5 minutes away. Go up the escalator then right and left. You will find an ATM dispensing pesos at a reasonable rate and no exorbitant fees. The down side, depending on your withdrawal amount, it dispenses big notes not always ‘’changeable’’ at the hotel. (Tip), buy a little ‘’something’’ at the hotel store or at the mall to get smaller bills.

Family vacation
Our trip was enjoyable. The playa was beautiful but the staff service was not constant. But the service we received from Better Flower was very good. She was very helpful and very kind. We'll probably come back in the futur.

Ok but not brilliant
Lovely grounds and very friendly and helpful staff. Unfortunately the room was right next to an electricity sub station as are quite a few blocks of rooms, noisy 24/7 for 2 weeks. Impossible to book the A la carte restaurant unless you want to queue for at least 30 minutes to put your name down. A bit of a Butlins feel in the day time with the entertainment team organising games.

Allegro Playacar
I have been here for 3 weeks and have enjoyed this resort very much, the concierge Betty Flowers was very welcoming and always had time for questions. The staff all over the resort were all very much accompanying . They make the resort the best. I would return .
