    San Pedro Island, Belize

Can’t say enough how friendly and helpful staff was. Special mention to Trisha who gave us excellent dining suggestions, Maria my favorite waitress at Sea Salt and Celina the hotel concierge who made reservations. Reception staff always had smile and friendly greeting. Hotel suite was beautiful and staff had decorated room for my birthday.

    Great stay

Nice accommodations, great food and service. Lots of mosquitoes in November. Requires ferry or plane to San Pedro island from BC. Elvis was a great greeter and had great recommendations. Reserve cabanas and massages/salon before arrival.

    Beautiful Yet Room for Improvement

Shout outs to Concierge Extraordinaire: Hortencio Pott, Phenomenal Hotel Manager: Miguel Martinez, Amazing Reservations Manager: Lilian Chuc, Elvis who is an integral part of the Front Desk Team as are Jolene, Blanca, and Front Desk Supervisor Stephanie, Tony in airport transportation, the humorous and kind hotel security guards, and the Impeccable Food and Beverage Manager (whose name escapes me at the moment)!! These individuals made our vacation a great one! Due to some missteps in communication on the hotel’s part (inclusive of pre-arrival and during our stay) poor service provided by certain hotel staff members, as well as billing mistakes on the part of the hotel, had it not been for the individuals I have mentioned, my rating would likely be one star. As a Platinum Elite Member of Bonvoy and an avid traveler (who happens to be a Public School Teacher and frequently travels for pleasure during school breaks), I have high expectations for excellence in service, particularly for properties who bill themselves as five star and are as expensive as this one. Pro’s: This property is aesthetically gorgeous immaculately clean, and in a nice location on the island. All of the hotel staff members work incredibly hard (even if some of them do not give an “at your service” or hospitable vibe). Cons: Proactive communication with guests is poor. Many procedures and protocols are not explained well, which leads to misunderstandings. As a guest, one does not want to spend an exurbanite amount of time while on vacation asking a bunch of clarifying questions nor clearing up the hotel’s mistakes with management. Unfortunately, this marred our experience a bit. Admittedly, there are many instances in which we felt “nickled and dimed” and/or given attitude by particular staff members. Suggestions for the hotel: Please provide staff members with additional cultural as well as hospitality training so interactions with American guests are more positive and meaningful across the board as well as reflective of five star service. Please address guests by their last names, unless requested not to by said guest(s), as doing so is more service oriented. Please ensure the payment link for a room deposit as required via a Marriott website booking is from a staff member’s non-personal email address and includes an explanatory message accompanying the email. Please ensure concierge staff members are thorough, warm, respectful, and knowledgeable like Mr. Pott. He is a sincere pleasure to work with! The same is true for Hotel Manager Mr. Martinez!! Please ensure listed pricing for excursions, food, beverages, spa services, etc. are up to date so guests are aware of the true costs of things. Taxes and service fees are costly and may be prohibitive for some. (My Husband and I being Educators fall into this category). Thank You, Mrs. Melanie Hart-Williams and Mr. Joseph Williams

    Amazing Service from Elvis

Amazing Service from Elvis During our stay at the hotel, Elvis helped with our luggage and went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience. He was friendly, efficient, and offered fantastic local recommendations. The hotel itself was also wonderful—clean, comfortable, and with a welcoming atmosphere. Elvis’ excellent service made our stay even better. Highly recommend asking for him—he truly made a difference!

    Great spot

Very nice resort. Elvis was very attentive as was the entire staff. There was nothing lacking. Very, very nice location and amenities. One of the nicer places on the island, close enough to town, but far enough away. A golf cart is a plus, but once here, no need to leave.
