Incredible Visit
Sheraton Kauai Resort is a beautiful resort. We stayed for a week and had a wonderful time. The ocean location is gorgeous, the staff was friendly and helpful. We had great meals at Rumfire and Lava’s. We would recommend this resort to anyone coming to Kauai. We have stayed at several places on Kauai, and this is one of the best. Our room and bathroom were lovely and updated. A special thanks to our concierge Tiana who took excellent care of us. The waitstaff at Lavas was excellent too. The activities with Tammy were fun. Thanks so much for a great stay

Great place to stay
This is actually two hotels on one property, the "resort villas" and the "resort." The resort is a standard hotel; the villas are rooms with kitchens and a washer/dryer.. We stayed in a villa. The resort is right on the beach; the villas are across the street. They have one front desk, and share pools, restaurants, etc. Most of the villas do not have ocean views. We paid extra for one with an ocean view. Yes, we could see the ocean....over the parking lot and across the street, but it wasn't really worth it. Most of the villas look out onto the lovely gardens that are all over the property. All the rooms seemed to have a balcony with two chairs and a small table. We had a single room in the villas. It was compact but very efficiently designed. The shower/toilet room was small, but the duel sinks had a large counter top and lots of storage. There was king size bed and a 2 person couch with an eating table on wheel for it. The kitchen had a full size refrigerator, deep sink, two burner stove, large microwave and a dishwasher. Plates, silverware, cups, glasses, pots and pans are provided. The washer and dryer had detergent and dryer sheets. The water pressure was high; the hot water was great. We like the villa as we stopped at Costco upon arrival and bought drinks, snakes and food for meals. Thus, we didn't have eat out every meal, had drinks handy and usually ate breakfast in the room. This saved time and money. The hotel grounds include two gyms, three pools and a jacuzzi. One of the pools was for small kids but still large. It was right above one of the adult pools and had small waterfalls overflowing into it. It was a nice family setup. The pool water was warm. The main pools were right next to the beach so you could easily go from one to the other. The hotel provided poolside beach towels and had snorkeling equipment and other items for rent. The snorkeling in front of the hotel was just ok. However, it was a short walk east to Po'ipū Beach where the snorkeling was better in very shallow water. Po'ipū Beach is also where a group of sea turtles regularly come up on the beach. We saw 30 one day. A lone Hawaiian Monk Seal sunbathed on the beach right in front of the hotel one day. Another good snorkeling/diving spot is at the boat launch just under half a mile west of the hotel, but it is not for beginners. The hotel had two restaurants, one for upscale dining and one more of a sports bar (next to the main pools). I found both to have limited menu items and bit overpriced. They also have a grab and go store with soup and sandwiches items. Within 20 minutes walking distance are two shopping malls with many dining options. There were also many shopping options plus a Longs Drug store for basic items. This adds to the hotel being a great location: on the beach, good snorkeling, good views of the sunset, close to many dining and shopping options and easy drive to most places o the island.

Hotel that covers the basics well, not much flare though...
The hotel is quiet, our room was clean, the bed mattress was probably one of the best I have slept in for a hotel in 10 years...amazing it was not rock hard like most hotels. Staff was friendly for the most part, valet attendants were very helpful and the ladies running the coffee bar called The Link were always very friendly and those ladies work their tails off...please give them a bonus! There is lost opportunity all over the hotel. The Link has some snacks in it, but there isn't something like an ice cream cooler with treats, or cookies or other midday treats. There is a lot of space in the store without much inventory...there are also little to no souvenirs or fun shirts. We've stayed at a lot of Marriott resorts and usually they have some shops...this one has a shop without much in it. The odd thing, they have a lot of unused space throughout the property....how about leasing some space to locals to give it some Hawaii flare? Lose the tan cement and add some color, it is Hawaii!

Great Resort
Beautiful resort. The staff were very helpful. Great location. Ocean view from room was spectacular. The rooms are spacious and nice. We stayed in Building #1. Would recommend this building, as it is quiet and has great ocean views. Would recommend food at Lavas and Rum Fire.

Best customer service!
Sheryl at the front desk was absolutely lovely to work with! There was a little mixup with my third party reservation and the hotel was about to charge me for the entire stsy afte ri had paid online. Sheryl completely understood and was willing to spend the time to make sure everything was done right. She's the best! Will definitely be back for the sunshine and oceanside rooms, definitely worth it to enjoy the sound of the waves all day and night. The staff are truly the great!
