Would not recommend
I travel with my parents every Christmas. We ordered an Ocean view and they were about to give a city view until I reminded. Then they gave us a partial ocean view that didn’t feel ready— they were out of conditioner which they didn’t refill, I had to tell them and a few days they didn’t give enough towels or coffee. The beach was nice but you can also access the beach from other hotels and it’s a public beach. The pool was fine, the hot tub was lukewarm one day during our visit. The casino is fine. DO NOT and I repeat DO NOT waste your money on the special dinner buffet. We did the. Xmas Eve dinner buffet and spent $260 + tip for bland, unappetizing food. There are many restaurants walking distance where the food is way better for less. Cayo Blanco down the street was our favorite dinner. I can’t speak to the breakfast buffet but if it was anything like the dinner, don’t pay for it or include it. The hotel’s receptionists weren’t very helpful and they’re very strict about how much water they can give each room. The beach guys that put out the chairs and umbrellas are awesome. I give them all kudos for a job well done with a smile. I’m a travel micro influencer and I won’t be recommending this place on my socials. Our first trip to Puerto Rico was unfortunately a bust. The beach was the best part and we’ll stay elsewhere on our next trip here.

Best for families.
We have been to the Fairmont and Condado Vanderbilt. This hotel is best for families with kids. For a large resort during holiday. You can always find a chair on the beach or by the pool and for that I gave them the fourth star. What a busy noisy place. On weekends there is a DJ blasting music since 2 pm. Closing the outside door to the room does little to muffle the sound. They should stop at 5. This time of year it’s almost dark at 6 and maybe people would like some quiet. Lobby is too brightly lit and at times seems to be a transit center with many people with luggage hanging out. Maybe lower the lights a bit? Have some nice background music? Compare this to this to Fairmont or Vanderbilt lobbies which are elegant. Beach is public and a local group set up right by our feet. And left their trash. Water very rough, pool is great but for me, only during the week. Beach service is excellent. Staff all around have been really good. We were just at the Vanderbilt where they learn your name so it’s next level but here is almost as good. Breakfast buffet is really good. Açaí stand sometimes open by the pool, run by a third party. Have not eaten dinner here. Tons of kids, seems like a great family place except for the DJ. Lots of children’s activities. Pools are fun and kept at 85 degrees.

Marriott did not disappoint!
This is now our favorite place to vacation and already booked our next trip! The hotel is beautiful and spotless, room looked newly renovated and we had an ocean view on the 20th floor. So relaxing and we took advantage of the pool and hot tub every day. Beach is choppy and not very swimmable, but we had a blast in the waves. Can’t wait to be back!

Solid choice in San Juan- Great views, convenient to restaurants, comfortable
We traveled here with our children, their partners, and our granddaughter in October. We reserved four oceanfront rooms in the Cabana section. Everything was smooth start to finish. They were able to get us a crib for our granddaughter. Staff were pleasant. The rooms were comfortable and had a good view. The space itself is nice. The pools were good. We loved having coffee in the mornings on the main floor back by the big windows watching the waves crashing. The beach itself has rough surf, but makes for good photos. While we were there, the hotel was not allowing guests to enter the beach from the pool area due to the unsafe waves, but you can easily walk around the hotel to the beach. They do allow you to reenter at the pool area from the beach. There are many restaurants within easy walking distance. We did eat one meal at Cosecha, which was comfortable but disappointing. They were out of several items/ingredients and the food wasn't as good as we are used to. Other resorts within walking distance have great options.

Service is slow than slow boat in China
Emailed their accountant and general manager, Mariano Formariz, regarding charges their front desk can’t resolve, two days passed, no response.
- AdvisoryThe following mandatory hotel-imposed fees are charged and collected by the hotel either at check-in or check-out. Resort fee: $65 (Plus Taxes) per room, per night Mandatory hotel-imposed fees may not include tax and are subject to change, this is an estimate of what you will be charged. - AdvisoryThe hotel has completed the lobby and front desk remodel. Lobby looks fantastic, much more space and a more personalized front desk.
- AdvisoryThe renovation at the resort has now been completed, which unveils a stunning new chapter for this iconic destination. With refreshed rooms, reimagined spaces, and an infusion of modern elegance, every detail has been thoughtfully designed to elevate the guest experience. Whether you’re savoring sunset views by the pool or unwinding in the sleek, stylish interiors, the Resort is ready to welcome you to a renewed paradise where comfort and beauty meet the spirit of Puerto Rico.
