  Awesome location, awesome room, exceptional service

  I am having such a good time at San Francisco Marriott Marquis! The room is awesome compared to the other Marriott's within the area, the location is great and not only that the best part about this whole place is the service! I wish to name the front desk Sabina which provided me exceptional service from the moment me and my wife went to enquire about the hotel till helping me check in at every step of the way I feel welcomed and enjoyed the thoughtfulness, attention to detail and interaction. She ensured I had everything I needed from the moment me and my wife checked in. Being a Marriott Platinum member I’ve stayed at many marriotts across the world and her service is one of the best I’ve came across. Such great customer service deserves many accolades and I definitely will be coming back to the same hotel for the room, the location and more importantly looking forward to her service again if I ever visit San Francisco. It’s rare to find such a dedicated, thoughtful and outstanding service staff. 11/10.

  A Surprisingly World-Class Fitness Center alone worth a repeat visit

  The fitness center at this Marriott far exceeded expectations. It’s a top-notch, multi-level facility with an impressive range of equipment—free weights, multiple bench stations, rowing machines, extensive cardio options, and dedicated exercise rooms. It’s clear this gym is built for more than just hotel guests; it feels like a full membership-quality fitness club. Ironically, the app and website provide almost no detail, which usually signals a small room with a few treadmills and dumbbells. In this case, it’s the complete opposite. The hotel has many strong qualities, but on a return trip, I’d come back for the fitness center alone.

  Great Stay for Laver Cup, But Destination Fee Feels Like a Scam

  I recently stayed at the San Francisco Marriott Marquis while attending the Laver Cup, and overall, it was a fantastic experience. The hotel itself is beautiful and well-maintained, and its central location in SoMa made it incredibly convenient for getting around the city—close to public transit, attractions, and the Chase Center. The standout highlight was the exceptional service from the bellmen, Alejandro and CJ. They went above and beyond by creating a helpful video guide showing the route to the nearby train station, which made navigating San Francisco's transit system a breeze for first-timers like me. Their friendliness and proactive approach really elevated the trip and made me feel welcomed. That said, the $30 daily destination fee left a sour taste. It includes perks like a $20 food credit, but as a Platinum for Life member, I typically rely on the lounge for complimentary options. Instead, I felt pushed toward the overpriced pantry items just to use the credit, which made the whole thing feel like nickel-and-diming. Why not just incorporate these costs into the room rate upfront? It comes across as a sneaky add-on rather than a genuine benefit, and the staff's explanation felt like gaslighting. I'd love to see Marriott rethink this policy to avoid making loyal guests feel scammed. Despite that one downside, I'd still recommend this hotel for its prime location and top-notch staff—just be prepared for the extra fees.
