Worst customer experience for a business traveler
Worst customer service. Upon check-in, the receptionist did not explain anything. He did not ask me if I am a member to enter my info to use free internet. He did not give me a map, which later I saw they have plenty in the back. Worst of all, my employer had sent credit card authorization well in advance, which they did not honor at check-in and I had to provide my own credit card. Not recommended for business travelers. Early in the morning of check-out, the secretary resends them the business credit card info. When I went to check out, everybody at the reception argued they have not received it, including the manager on duty. The manager could not find it, even though it was sent the same morning. This hotel can give a headache to a business traveler. I even showed them an email confirming it was sent, but that did not help. Either there is something wrong in their system or their staff do not know where to look. They were rude in their attitude, blaming it on our secretary, asking me to ask her to send it again. If you are a business traveler, go to another hotel and spare yourself the headache. I had to deal with it both at check-in and check-out.

One of the really good hotels downtown SFO
Great location, Great rooms, modern, good beds and a great in room service and staff. Rooms were kept clean and there was an eye for detail. The food options were excellent, the parking was a bit over the top expensive but hey you had a garage (mission and 5th street) right opposite. Overall I would highly recommend this place for staying and also chilling out in the city. The highlight was the rooftop bar !! absolutely amazing cocktails with a great view!!

Poor value for money
The inly reason to stay here is the conference center close by. The hotel is huge and bland. The quality is very average. Service is non existent, during my five day stay my room was not serviced even once, for a price of close to 400 USD per night. I am sure there mist be better options in this great city.

It sure looked upscale but it was far from it. From stained sheets to overprice drinks in an overrated view bar
The place looks five star but for our stay is was not even a one. Stained sheets on the bed that were poorly fitted. A breakfast that was only a poor buffet, at $42 for each person. When all you want is eggs and toast that is just not acceptable. Staff who seems to know absolutely nothing when we asked and very few staff at that. The last night of our stay the water was shut off. This completely wrecked our plans for the day. When asked to have the last night refunded the “manager” said all he was empowered to do was give us a discount. When you see the name Marriot, there are certain expectations of quality hospitality. This hotel does NOT measure up to that at all. I’m deleting my Bonvoy account.

Mixed experienced
I stayed at this hotel for a work training. Overall facility experience was good. Clean room, location, accessibility and very friendly and serviceable staff. One thing disappointing was the experience with workers on strike. Starting with the noise but more importantly their motive to protest. As a health equity advocate is disheartening to know that these huge corporations have no empathy for the well being and health of their employees which ultimately make the experience for guests. There’s already many things impacting people getting access to healthcare to add companies choosing profit over their staff health saddens my heart. Have I known about this before I would have definitely NOT booked this hotel. The stars are for those employees that still made the experience.
