Mixed experienced
I stayed at this hotel for a work training. Overall facility experience was good. Clean room, location, accessibility and very friendly and serviceable staff. One thing disappointing was the experience with workers on strike. Starting with the noise but more importantly their motive to protest. As a health equity advocate is disheartening to know that these huge corporations have no empathy for the well being and health of their employees which ultimately make the experience for guests. There’s already many things impacting people getting access to healthcare to add companies choosing profit over their staff health saddens my heart. Have I known about this before I would have definitely NOT booked this hotel. The stars are for those employees that still made the experience.

Return trip to SF
I recently stayed at the Marriott Marquis on the first weekend in December. I've stayed here so many times prior and love its location close to shopping, transportation and site seeing. While there was a union strike taking place out front, the services inside did not disappoint. The M Club breakfast was great as was the customer service from all of the staff. My room was spacious and very comfortable. With security present at the entry, it felt very safe at all times. Will definitely be back.

Junk fees and still more: be aware
Marriott is charging destination fees that they say you can use as credit for purchases at the hotel. It’s mandatory use it or lose it for you stay. Not be known to me that there is also an implicit daily quota and if you spend beyond that on that day, you still get charged for overage. For 2 out of four days I stayed I brought a drink and the rest I didn’t purchase anything. I still get charged for (the less than $2) over for the daily cap. Very small amounts but the whole thing just makes you feel uncomfortable. It’s a forced junk fee in the first place and I did not use the whole “benefit “ and yet they still charge you more.

A San Francisco Gem
Our wonderful experience at check in with Rosanna set the tone for our stay. She was delightful and very welcoming. In fact, each and every staff member we have encountered has been professional, helpful, and friendly. Karolina and Dante in the M Club go above and beyond in terms of customer service. The M Club is well stocked and convenient for breakfast, light snacks throughout the day, and even a light dinner that includes dessert. The gym is very large and includes everything one would need to stay in shape while traveling, I just dearly wish it had Peloton bikes instead of or in addition to the brand that they currently have. The location is central to anything one may need, including a Target store directly across the street. Public transportation can also be found just around the corner. The management staff here is doing a fantastic job, and it shows. I am well traveled and can safely say that I will always plan to stay here when in San Francisco.

Resort fee and rough location!
First issue is with the resort fee. This is not a resortit is just a hotel, lose the resort fee. If you do stay best to use your allowance in the. Offer shop downstairs. Second hotel is in a dodgy area, loads of homeless and drug users nearby. We felt quite unsafe at night. Thirdly rooms are OK, but ultimately this is an old hotel were the rooms have had a minor makeover. Fourthly very expensive.
