Royalton Splash Family Vacation
We were at the resort for 1 week (1-4-25 to 1-10-25). Lots of options for pools and food between the two different hotels. Very easy to get around with the included transportation. Alexis, the bartender from the lobby was very friendly and welcoming! He recommended lots of great spots to visit while in Punta Cana. He made the best drinks! Fantastic service!

Royalton chic experience
Great time during our week there. The food is very good and the service excellent. We did the aqua classes each day and the instructors were amazing especially Mr Chely. We will definitely be back. The entertainment and drinks were non stop. The Room service was also excellent. The Royalton made us feel at home.

Average holiday experience
The hotel is nice, pools are lovely and the staff around them. You can manage to get a sun bed at any time of day. Dinner service is good but the app can be tricky to work for reservations. Be prepared to tip for everything. The maid staff do a great job of cleaning the room but are extremely loud in the corridors very early in the morning with singing and speaking overly loudly in groups. It made it very hard to get proper sleep after the late entertainment in the evenings.

Good resort that could be great with a few improvements
We stayed for a week in January with 2 families with children ages 9-12. We enjoyed our stay and it was our 2nd time at this resort - the first time we stayed at the Punta Cana side. I will say the Punta Cana side is nicer so if you are not worried about budget I would recommend that resort over Splash. First impression at check in was not great. We arrived at 2:30pm and had paid $70USD each family to pre-select rooms together. The rooms were not ready which was okay since check in time was 3:00pm. They told us to return at 3:00pm. When we came back the rooms still were not ready and we were given the run around and the manager or supervisor at the desk told us a 3:00pm check in time actually meant the rooms could take up until 3:59pm - this was strange and made no sense... it sounded like a poor excuse. Finally we got our rooms around 3:30pm with the manager saying he would give us access to them despite them not being ready. Also strange. He was not very friendly. The rooms themselves were quite nice but between the 2 rooms we had several issues. The bracelets stopped working to open the doors a few times and one day they had a resort-wide system issue where no one could use their bracelets. We obtained a key card from the front desk which worked. There were also issues with the safe not working which had to be fixed twice. One of the rooms had a leak from the ceiling in the bathroom. The phones in both rooms also had issues. When we contacted staff about this they did send people to help fairly quickly and the issues didn't ruin the trip but it did seem like quite a few issues. The bars and restaurants were wonderful. We always found food at the buffet that we liked. My only suggestion for the buffet, which I've seen at other resorts, is to have an employee standing at the door of the buffet with hand sanitizer to sanitize each guests hands before they handed all the buffet utensils. I did cringe thinking of all the dirty hands that had touched the spoons etc and this could help reduce the spread of viruses which is mentioned in other reviews. One person in our group of 8 did get sick on day 6. Booking a la cartes as mentioned in other reviews was not ideal. You had to use the Royalton App which was not user friendly and often didn't work. There was no apparent method to when the a la cartes became available so we would check a few times a day and take whatever we could get. We ate at the Italian, Seafood, and Mexican restaurants and all were fantastic with great service. The pools, waterpark and beach were also great. We often walked to the beach and to the Punta Cana side of the resort and enjoyed the jungle like scenery and turtles/ducks/iguanas in the natural areas. The ocean water was warm and the beach was very kid-friendly. We were lucky enough to have another guest who was leaving give us their boogie boards which along with the tubes we brought with us made for a great time. We thoroughly enjoyed the waterpark and the lines were never long for the slides. We also really enjoyed the entertainment in the evenings. The Circus show, Madonna show and Michael Jackson show were all fantastic. The shows end around 10:00pm which is also when the buffet closes. It would be nice if the buffet had been open til 10:30 or 11:00pm to be able to grab a snack for the kids before bed. Over all it was a great trip and the staff, food, beach, pools, waterpark and entertainment were wonderful. With some small tweaks this resort could definitely be a 5!

Lots of operational and cleanliness training required
1. Unlimited reservation-free dining, international and local liquors (from website) - this is far from the truth. Guests have to have reservations, cannot reserve until day before, the App is promoted but does not work. Restaurants do not take walk-ins. It is very stressful! 2. Food orders at restaurants are limited - you are not allowed to order more than one entrée until you eat the 1st one you order. It is confusing for an all-inclusive resort. (at Cucina Bellismo the waiter Joel was very firm on this). 3. Royalton App is not intuitive and needs a lot of enhancements to work for the guests and the staff. 4. Grounds are not regularly picked up - 1st guests should be responsible for their own trash but the staff do not pick up when there is trash on ground and walk by. (This includes pools, wind will blow garbage and staff just leave it to float.) 5. This one is weird and gross - I watched several staff at several restaurants help themselves to the food from the buffet and eat it while working - adding refreshed items, walking through. 6. Staff need training - waiters would reach across in front of us to pour water instead of moving around the table, often there were not spoons at buffet or plates. There seems to be an operational issue which frustrates guests.
