Not a bad thing to say about the lovely staff and amazing hotel 🙏
Currently at the airport after 10 amazing days at the Royalton Autograph in Antigua. Before coming here, reading some of the reviews, I was laying an egg. But when we got here, we had nothing but an amazing experience. Firstly, it’s worth noting we paid for the diamond club service, so had priority access to restaurant bookings, a butler, two private bars and a private restaurant/grill. The diamond club service was awesome. Every morning we had a table service breakfast, Shanique who served us daily, was a wonderful host and went above and beyond to ensure we had what we needed. Around the pool and the beach, the diamond club staff see to your every need and you could literally lay in the sun and drink cocktails all day without moving should you wish. We also had a gorgeous bay view room, with a huge bed and clean bathroom which was cleaned daily and then attended to with a turn down in the evening which was lovely. We also had two private butlers that were always on hand via WhatsApp. Both Sabrina and Coniah were very attentive to our needs. A minibar that was stocked with our preference of drinks was also included which was great. The bottle of local rum was also a magic touch! Dining was great, we tried the Caribbean restaurant twice which was perfect and we dined at the hunters steak house 3 times. The food and service there were great. The buffet has a HUGE selection of freshly cooked foods, local and international, with stir fry’s and pizzas being made fresh in front of you. Again, couldn’t fault it. Drinks wise there is a main lobby bar with a stage that serves great drinks and all the staff are well trained to prepare whatever cocktail you wish. There’s also the ‘scores bar’ which is open until late and serves fast food for most the day. You’ll also find live sport here with a pool table and dart board. Again, the staff here are attentive and looked after us well. The entertainment was great. The reggae night and ‘Antigua show’ were our favourites. It’s nice to see more of their culture. Before coming here, we were told that mosquitos and sand bugs were going to be a huge problem. However, the beach was clean, golden and we didn’t have an issue with sand bugs. There’s a beach shack at the end of the beach selling fresh seafood and grilled meats and delicious dark and stormy cocktails. The watersports lets you take out kayaks, paddle boards and snorkel kits which was awesome. We went out and saw a sea turtle which was magical. We did two excursions through the hotel, one was an Xtreme Circumnavigation and the other was the shirley heights trip. The XC trip was absolutely faultless. The guys at extreme Antigua were amazing, the food and drinks were great and their knowledge of the island is superb. Swimming with stingrays was definitely a highlight. Shirley heights however, I personally wouldn’t go again, and if you do go, get your own taxi and go early to avoid queuing for drinks and food. We spent most the night queueing and by the time we got our food, it was time to go home. I personally wouldn’t go here again. However, the view is phenomenal and the sunset is gorgeous. The only bad thing I have to say is that some of the people are vile. Fat, greedy, rude Americans and scum bag English. What would make this place better is to put the prices up and price the rude, scallys out. Apart from that, it’s a lovely hotel. Once you get your head around the culture being a bit more relaxed and the fact ‘island time’ is a real thing, you’ll have the best time ever. Thanks to all the warm, welcoming and hospitable staff for an amazing 10 days 🙏

Best Christmas holiday!
The staff are very lovely and enthusiastic when it comes to entertainment around the pool. The fitness instructor jameel is very funny to play with and the best sand bag player. The food is of amazing cuisine. J-Quan is the best server and bartender.

Amazing Staff - Warm & Friendly
My wife and I stayed here accompanied by 2 of our friends from Dec. 3-10,2024. We went through Air Canada Vacations as we had a $600 per couple credit from AC Vacations from our disappointing Curacao trip last Dec. We were warmly met by our AC Vacations Rep; Rogers, at the airport. We loved Rogers and had a great experience with him. Loved his spirit and abundance of useful and informative info. He stated that this is not a tipping culture island. Tip at your own discretion and always at the end of your stay or experience. We went with a private island tour & lunch with our 2 friends. We were only disappointed that we only saw one beach but it was one of the top 10 of the 365 on the island. Dwight was very knowledgeable and showed us many sites in the 6 hours we were out. We had Diamond Club with swim up pool room. It was a little chillier than our stay in St. Lucia swim up pool room. Still highly recommend especially the end room #10111. Away from main part of hotel. Although you have to pre book at a fee in advance if you want the guarantee of that room. We had 2 Butlers: Paul & Matara. We were suppose to butler service in St. Lucia’s Royalton but rarely saw him. Now we know what true butler service is. They are the warmest and kindest people. Always booking us restaurants, bringing more M&Ms to our room, surprising us with bottles of wine and a bottle of local rum. Which I say is very comparable to Cuban rum. I like it more due to the caramel notes. The hotel is a little worn. Does need some updating but it was always clean and the staff are who made the stay. Only a couple of staff had some attitude issues. Nothing serious. We later feel that that it may have been due to the fact that there was a staff strike on our last day of stay. Which management and certain staff were present and available to facilitate our departure and food. Not sure how the patrons that were remaining were treated. I’m sure quite well. The strike was to fight for better management of staff. Like I said, the staff made the stay. The people on the island are warm and kind people. The entertainment was great. Especially if you get involved. The Vibe Team: Shareefe was one who was extremely entertaining and friendly. She got people moving. We loved her spirit and professionalism. There were many great hosts on the vibe team. They all deserve 5 Stars. We loved the gym as well. Great air conditioned facility. There was kick boxing lessons with Shaquille. We arrived one day for a class (which there’s an event notice board in several locations around the resort) early as the event board had the incorrect time. Shaquille stepped up and offered us a private lesson with circuit training. Incredible host. Above and beyond. He was an excellent instructor and we had a fantastic workout. We also attended many daily Aqua fit classes. One of our favourite instructors was Shanon. He put us through a good workout. We also played water volleyball which was also a lot of fun. The Diamond Club is probably the best way to have an exceptional experience. There were murmurings of some dissatisfied patrons. I do feel it’s your attitude you bring that creates your experience. The food was hot or miss. Hunters had great rib eye but the rest of the cuts weren’t amazing. Just order medium rare for a tender steak. The worst experience was the Italian restaurant Grazie. It started off good. The beef carpaccio was excellent as an app. Then we waited 2 hours for food that was both ice cold and Luke warm. The seafood pasta had no seafood in it. Well 2 dime sized pieces of something indistinguishable. I ate the Osso Bucco meat as it was braised perfectly. Our friends ordered lasagna only to find out an hour later that it was to maybe come soon but to order a pizza just in case. The pizza came and the lasagna didn’t. We ended up going to the buffet for salad and satiate our hunger with other food. The buffet was usually very good. Lots of healthy options. Staff were attentive. Some even remembered our drinks. Like I’ve stated throughout this review. Go with a positive attitude and you will have a great time. The staff are the heart of this hotel.

Food and comfort at its worst
It's neither Royal nor worthy of anything close to Autograph. Our biggest complaint was the food quality. If you're ok with marginal, bland food, this is the place for you. The drinks are good enough, about what i'd expect from a all inclusive package. While we did have some decent meals, by the end of our 5 day stay we were begging to eat off property. One of our highlights from this trip was the people. Antiguans on the whole we found to be very engaging and incredibly enjoyable. Our wait staff on property went so far as to comment that the Royalton food quality was Not indicative of their native cuisine. While waiting to fly home, enjoying the outside terrace at the airport executive lounge, we asked our waitress how the food was. Upon hearing about our experience of the food quality at our hotel, she immediately responded with "Oh, you must have stayed at the Royalton!" So clearly we are one of many guest who feel the same. Lastly, the A/C in the room was challenging to get to a comfortable level. I run hot and even needed two additional blankets on the bed to get warm. Spend your money elsewhere...

Vibe team
Jameel in the vibe entertainment team was great- awesome aqua fit class as well as in the gym. Pretty good at the sand bag game too! The vibe team in general have made our holiday - Richard and Maliki have also been brilliant, great with the kids and creating a fun environment.
