The best stay at ports of call
The best fun was by the bar during happy hours and playing bingo

Ports of Call is a hidden gem!
We booked Ports of Call Resort because it had very good reviews. It didn’t disappoint! It was clean and updated, with friendly staff. Watson, the pool bartender makes a mean rum punch! Lol. We prefer resorts that are smaller and it was the perfect size and location. Within walking distance to restaurants and shopping. We made some new friends and everyone we talked to planned on returning.

Right price if you get a "good" room and have "good weather.
This is a difficult review to write because I loved so much about the resort, but there are some items that need to be considered before booking a reservation. My reviews tend to be based on two things: is it clean and is it safe, because I don't spend time in hotel rooms. That said however, this resort has some other items to consider when deciding if it is the right place for you to book to stay. Pros: Price is right. Location is central to everything including a nice grocery store and several good restaurants. Area felt very safe. All staff are super friendly, especially Cortez at the pool bar who took the time to learn everyone's names. (Lone exception was the beach staff who served no purpose) The pool and hot tub were kept very clean. Lounge chairs and umbrellas were nice to have on the beach as well as poolside. Cons: We specifically booked connecting rooms, but were not given them. This would be a huge problem if I were traveling with small children. I was traveling with adult children so it was still a small issue but we could accommodate it. Even in the rooms that were recently "updated", the rooms are inconsistent for "cleanliness". One of our rooms was so musty that even with the windows and doors open all day, I couldn't breathe to sleep. Several people at the pool made similar comments, and we heard others say that the air-conditioning didn't work at all after calling maintenance more than one time. Shower heads were clogged so you didn't get full spray and floors always felt dirty from sand. The resort oversold "beach activities" as paddle boards and kayaks were no where in sight and when asked to use them, the beach staff said they weren't available. All other resorts had their toys on the beach ready to be used. Also, beach "bar" was a guy with a blender and cooler. There is no restaurant, bar or bathroom facilities on the beach as part of Ports of Call. Irritants but not deal breakers: Location is not on the beach. No idea where the beach shuttle ever was and I personally would not rely on it. The traffic was heavy to cross the street to the beach and I would not have been comfortable doing it with small children. No elevators to the second and third floors. Each room is a little different. Some had bigger refrigerators and some had very small. We were given bath towels, but not wash cloths. Breakfasts were very basic. The menu was repeated every other day. The supplied hair cleansing products are not great. The pool deck is very slippery when wet and could be dangerous if not careful. Effort to provide your room early is non-existent. There is a very small closet where they can store your luggage and a small bathroom by the pool to change clothes. Bottom line is that if I could get a similar priced room with a view of the beach, which is why I go to Turks and Caicos, I would opt for that over Ports of Call. Generally, Ports of Call has everything I would want otherwise, so long as you get a room that "works".
