Come here !!!
I loved my stay at Platinum Yucatán! We had a great time the staff was amazing. This is my second trip and I’ll be coming back. Jorge of the front desk, Flavio who does bags and Christian of the bar were the stars of the show. My massage was amazing 10/10! I’m looking forward to my next trip and want to thank everyone!

DO NOT STAY HERE
Day 2 of our 8 night stay and I will start with DO NOT STAY HERE. We come to Mexico 2-3 times a year and try a new place for most of our trips. We booked this trip on a last minute whim (10 days advance) with our experience being most RM resorts are more or less similar. Regrets. I will say this is the cheapest resort we have been to, but still paying $800 a night we have significantly overpaid. This resort will try to find a buck at every avenue. Room service will only provide two bottles of water at a time. If you want 3+ at a time they will charge. They will charge for lost room keys. They provide two beach towels in the room and if misplaced, YOU GUESSED IT, they charge. Other reviews were also correct about the wifi. Our first try at ordering breakfast was interesting. There were 4 options, we both made a choice. We were informed that we were given the premium menu that we did not qualify for and our options were the two we didn't select. After speaking to reception they allowed us this one exception and promptly brought us a new menu. For the curious, the two and only options for breakfast are a pastry basket or cottage cheese. Stop drooling. In less than 48 hours we have had many minor scenarios that have built up of poor customer service, which I have truly never experienced in any hotel or resort in any country. I feel more like an inconvenient couch crasher than a paying guest. Vacations are expensive and time off is rare and precious. Please look elsewhere to enjoy yourselves.

Second resort I've been to in Mexico and this one takes the cake by far.. Entertainment team was great, make sure you befriend Johnny and Luna from the entertainment team along side all the other entertainers they made our stay here amazing. Beds were super comfy and food was amazing. We did run into an issue with our room early on in the trip and staff was extremely helpful in finding us a new room and getting on top of the situation right away. All staff extremely friendly and helpful, everyone looks like they love working there. Make sure you participate in events and shows it makes trip a lot more fun!

Pretty, but service is to a la carte for an all-inclusive.
The first sign that something was wrong being notified upon check in that there would be a charge for lost room keys. Having traveled extensively, including plenty of all-inclusives everywhere from Playa Del Carmen, Cancun, the Dominican Republic, and many other areas in both Mexico and the Caribbean, I've literally never come across this at any other hotel. How much can a replacement key card be? Next I was alerted that there's no pool outside, as every other all-inclusive I've been to also has, but that they would be in the room. Also odd and clearly limits the ability to trade in towels for fresh dry towels throughout the day, a key perk of most all-inclusives. It would have been just annoying, except I was told that the way to get new towels was wait for housekeeping. So now I have two towels, every day I rotate and use a clean one at the pool/beach, while my dirty towel waits in my room for housekeeping to come replace it. Except this never happens. 3 different times throughout my stay housekeeping simply took the towel I left and never replaced it. I finally went to the concierge who gave me a few additional towels, but this clearly doesn't fix the larger problem of why doesn't housekeeping know to replace them? I also had a major issue with getting charged incorrectly. Check your billing and make sure when you arrive at the the hotel you get charged the correct amount. I was undercharged (pay upon arrival), but not by any amount that made sense. It's also strange because the hotel quotes pricing in USD, but AmEx only allows charges in the local currency (MXN). This is so AmEx can do the forex conversion for you and make sure you're getting the best rate, but it also means the hotel has to first convert the pricing to MXN using their daily rate sheet. Not sure why they don't have MXN pricing. Next, there's an upcharge to use the WiFi. I think basic internet may be free, but anything that you want actual speed on is $. I suppose some people may want to fully disconnect, but i've been charged for wifi before and it just felt like i was getting nickeled and dimed. Similar charge for the sauna and steam room... no one is using these and yet they're $500 MXN for a session. 99% of guests wouldn't take advantage if it was free and it would make the rest of our experiences better. Checkout is at 12PM. I had a late flight and wanted to check out at 1:30PM. Forget whether the room is available or not... they wanted and extra $500 MXN for the late check out. On the food, all-inclusives tend to have a bad reputation for sub-par food and have for the last several decades. I'm happy to report that the long-standing reputation has become somewhat obsolete and I've been to quite a few all-inclusives with pretty great food recently. That said, this is not one of them. The menu protein almost every single day was about 80% pork. The steak was ok, but the quality and cuts at the steakhouse was frankly no better than the buffet. I did not try the fish, but it looked like the only option they had was similar to a tilapia? Breakfast was very good, but that's mostly because you can't really screw up eggs, bacon, and coffee. If this hotel makes any changes, improving the food would go a long way. Lastly, the beach was ok. I didn't really spend much time at the pools, though the private pools looked nice and the main pool had non-stop activities most of the day. I sat on the beach every day. Only drawback was the extensive rocks right when getting into the water. Walk out 10-15 feet though and it's all sand. I'm not sure if nearby hotels' beaches also have similar rock issues. I will not be returning to this hotel, but if you're looking for a cheaper budget all-inclusive it could be an option for you. If they stopped nickel and diming for every last buck, it would be even better.

11th visit, can’t wait to go back!
The PYP has come our staple adult only all inclusive vacation. This was our 11th visit! From the moment you arrive, the staff are all amazing! The grounds are well taken care of, the rooms are kept clean and have everything you need. You become family there! Daily activities by the deluxe suites keep you entertained and if you wish to participate you can! Lovely lounge chairs by the pool and you are kept well hydrated by the staff around the pool! The beach is fine with lounge chairs and service as well. Food is good! Lots of variety at the buffet and all the a la cartes you want! I can’t say enough wonderful things about the PYP! We can’t wait to go back soon!
