Fabulous family vacation
The service was amazing. Andy was a fabulous butler. Anything I asked for was delivered promptly. The star class pool was so warm every day. The food was great. Excellent service by Fernanda at the pool. I would highly recommend this resort!

Great fitness facility and overall good resort.
We were there as a Star Class guest and were very nicely treated by the staff. We received two "butlers" who made a dedicated WhatsApp group with me and my travel friends to easily get in contact with them and for them to communicate the activities, weather, etc. to us. They scheduled all our restaurant reservations which was really helpful. Star Class also gives you access to "Premium Bottles" like rums, vodkas, liquors, etc. -- too many extra bottles to name, but it was fun trying them all. The resort was a little far (45 mins) from the airport but the shuttle bus (coach bus) was comfortable and efficient to and from the airport. The rooms were nice but could have been cleaned better (I wore crocks in the bathroom shower). Room service and cleaning was otherwise great. Went during an unlucky week where the sun wasn't out and it was windy, but the pools were all open and clean and the lazy river was fun just sitting there with the drink in-hand. Once the pools close after 7, there isn't that much to do other than hang out and watch their shows... the shows are alright but entertaining (for me), so I preferred just sitting and relaxing at the Cafe. The Cafe (Fuel Cafe) was great - free ice creams, cakes, and coffees/teas/macha drinks. Really great part. Otherwise, the gym and the fitness center is the BEST I've seen at a hotel/resort so far. Great, great, new TechnoGym equipment, squat racks, bars, a good range of cardio machines, and a fitness room with turf for fitness classes (like TRX, Boxing, HIIT, etc.). Benn was the instructor and made the experience great for me, as well as the reception staff at the gym. If you like tennis/picketball, there are courts on the roof of the building too. Very enthusiastic and helpful staff overall. One major downside to this resort is that you cannot connect (or at least, I couldn't figure it out) your personal devices to the TV (try bringing a HDMI cord) by casting Netflix, Disney, etc. Another major downside is that the bars all have their unique drink menus on the PlanetHollywood app (other than the default drinks you can order anywhere), but there are no drink menus at the bars themselves, so unless you're carrying your phone to the swim-up bars, you won't be able to see their menus. I recommend that they print and laminate some menus for each bar. There is a nightclub which is nice that runs late into early morning (would bring ear protection). Food was also quite good - no complaints there, especially with the restaurants. The buffet sometimes got crowded, especially at areas where the chef made the food for you (eggs, fish, etc), but that is expected. The WiFi coverage is fast and reaches everywhere on the resort. Would I go again? No, because I want to try new resorts, but if I had to go again, I would.

Bad weather but still enjoyed the experience
We have now stayed in both Planet Hollywood resorts. Costa Rica last year, and Cancun this year. Both are very comparable as far as service and atmosphere. Costa Rica may be a bit more homey since it is much smaller. We tried most restaurants including the star class dinner at shores. The breakfast buffet at Shores was really good, and not busy at all. It is a much better option that the chaos of the main buffet. All the restaurants were good. The star class pool is nice. It is heated which saved our vacation. We had crappy weather, clouds and rain 4.5 out of 6 full days there. So unfortunately we couldn't enjoy the lazy river and kids pool which is half the reason we went. That certainly isn't the resort's fault and I won't base my review on that. We rented a cabana one day which gave us a nice place outside to relax during a rainy day. We were travelling with a 7 and 4 year old so it was a bummer that we missed out on some main amenities. What saved it was the kids club. They had a lot of activities to keep the kids busy during the rain so shout out to all the great staff there. Cinthya, Rose, Alis, Fatima, Itzel, Wendy and Marey were all great with the kids. Overall it was a really good time and a good resort. The staff are all really good honestly.

Kids club perfect addition
The kids club with bere, Alis, Marey, Cintya, Wendy, Fatima, Itzel and Rose is just FANTASTIC!! they are great with kids. Creative activities. Just a great place! The resort is just big enough so theres plenty to do but not too big to be a pain to go where you need to go!

Great stay at Planet Hollywood.
There were plenty of excellent activities and places to enjoy. Always plenty of food and drink. The butlers who attended to all of our needs, Andy and Erik, were fantastic. Easy to reach and extremely helpful. Sour note: although they had many sports channels, no ESPN. 🤨 So many of us could not watch the college football national championship. Food: plentiful and good quality, but the wait staff could use more training in beverages.
