Inconsistent service and disappointing experience
I really wanted to like this hotel, but the experience turned out disappointing. Pros: -Rooms were spacious and in good working order, with good air conditioning -The buffet restaurant, Origen, was well-stocked and offered a good variety, including options for my restricted diet -The beach area is gorgeous and has many thatch-roofed huts to provide shade, plus comfortable lounge chairs -It was very quiet and secluded, which we liked. Cons: -Prior to our visit, the spa ignored my email asking to schedule a service. I called and was transferred to the spa, but they would only speak in Spanish (which I only have minimal capabilities in), and they then hung up on me. We ended up booking at an offsite spa instead. The spa has no online booking available. -My flight-travel outfit got very dirty and stained on the way to DR, so I filled out the laundry form in the room and took it to the front desk as indicated. The front desk said to leave it in the hotel room and housekeeping would pick it up. Housekeeping came the next 2 days and ignored it. 3 days after my original request, someone finally picked up the laundry. -Menus and restaurant hours and hotel services are not on the website or in an app. -There were very limited reservations available for restaurants that required them. -Restaurant dishes were not as described on the menu. I had a pumpkin salad that had no pumpkin (and so did our next-door table). My daughter got a creme brulee dessert described as "topped with a delicious burnt sugar crust" - but there was only a bowl of custard. No topping or burnt crust. I ordered a latte and got a cappuccino. -Some restaurants had no vegetarian entree options, and we couldn't find that out until we showed up for our reservation. -None of the bars knew how to make a painkiller, which is a very common Caribbean drink. -Only one white wine and one red wine was included in the "all inclusive" pricing. To get other wines, you had to pay an upcharge. But mixed drinks were free. -The pool towel stand ran out of towels. -Non alcoholic drink selection was limited. No Diet Coke anywhere on property. Sometimes servers would come by to offer water or coffee at the breakfast buffet; sometimes not.

Clean but completely disorganized and noisy
The rooms are enormous. The place is immaculately clean. The food was fresh. The pools were pristine and mostly empty. We booked a birthday cake for my mom. They suggested a private, decorated room for the “party” and told me the price. I went for it. Confirmed the day before. You can probably see where this is going… the cancelled the reservation an hour before and moved it to the next day. They booked us a reservation at a different restaurant for an hour from when they called. The reservation was not made. And despite the restaurant being empty, they said they wouldn’t seat us. Another guest who overheard this - and had had problems himself with reservations - offered to give us his reservation. Ultimately they seated us. The next day when we showed up for the redo of the birthday party, they brought us not to a private room but to an entirely different restaurant with a different menu than the one we had asked for. We decided to leave to go to the buffet. They almost didn’t let us in there either because we didn’t have a reservation. (It was Christmas Eve - but you’ll remember our original reso was the day before!) This restaurant was also full of empty tables. At some point, they caught wind of their repeatedly and dramatically dropping the ball and tried to offer us stuff we didn’t want (eg bottle of house wine). I said if the birthday cake I had ordered (and the reported reason for the original date not being honoured) was available, we’d still like it. They brought Christmas cake and sang Happy Birthday to my mom. And they gave us the wine. And didn’t charge us for either. The staff were mostly kind and in some cases really lovely. But they screwed up 8 of 9 reservations we made at the resort (3 restaurants, someone to help my parents with luggage, a car to the airport, the gym, cake, etc). The place was also blasting music everywhere so my parents couldn’t hear any conversation, and we were constantly shouting to be heard. And the beach was offsite, which was fine until it started to pour and everyone was waiting for a tiny golf cart to bring us back to the resort. Thumbs down from me.

Punta Cana stay
Very slow service in restaurants and not great food quality. The family concierge service was great. Party was very helpful. Overall we had a great experience other than the food!

Fun experience!!
Best experience ever! Be sure to stop by Kicks Sports Bar. Bartender Yanelvin took amazing care of us the entire time. Friendly, fun-loving, and genuinely welcoming! Highly recommend!!

Best bad experience
You must visit kick sports bar. The bar tender Yanelvin is very friendly and understanding. He made us drink according to our taste. He is very welcoming and always has a smile on his face.
