Amazing service
Great customer service Gorgette Virgo. With her prompt exceptional service. Pulling out all the stops to make sure everything was OK. Darren from room service very friendly. . The property is amazing with pristine pools and beaches. You must go in the lazy pool quite relaxing if you want to unwind. Will be returning. To this getaway oasis. In this lush part of Jamaica.

Good service
Concierge Katia hospitality, Chef Ana-Lee was very helpful and explained the meals, Chef Keisha at the stir fry all from the Captain Morgan restaurant were excellent. They provide a wonderful experience and we will definitely be back because of their service.

Great location, drinks and staff need work.
It was okay. The drink service was absolutely terrible. All too often, they were “out” of white wine. Cannot get a frozen drink of any type before 10:00AM, or AFTER 7:00PM. The entertainment staff…Better yet, ALMOST all of the staff were not very sociable. Pretty much doing the bare minimum. The food was okay. EXCEPT for the steakhouse, which was absolutely amazing. The staff at the restaurant were incredible. Very friendly, and sociable. The grounds were absolutely stunning!!! The CHOICE of food was quite good. Would we go back? For the price…Probably. Going from Riu Reggae, to Riu Palace(multiple times), we have to say it is MUCH quieter than the Reggae, though, the Palace was a bit nicer in terms of service and staff. We really enjoyed the sister resort(Ocean Coral Springs). The Lazy River is an absolute MUST!!! Fun and relaxing. The kids and families there(when we were there) were so very kind, and most people were respectful of there being children at Coral Springs. Overall, an AMAZING location, beauty abound. Drinks and staff could use a lot of work(Hopefully things changed since we’ve been there). One last note that no one had mentioned before we booked…There are a LOT of BEES!!! I’m deathly allergic to these. On QUITE a few occasions, they were in our drinks!!! If you’re allergic, bring an Epi-Pen!!! I’m so grateful nothing catastrophic happened, but would’ve liked to have known about this issue.

A great stay at Ocean Eden Bay/Ocean Coral Spring
Ocean Eden Bay is a good choice for couples or a friends trip for those who want a vacation without kids running around. The added bonus of being able to fully use the Ocean Coral Spring side is what makes this resort a great option. Quick and dirty review: Checkin- garbage. It took an hour to get our rooms. There is no way that in today's age, this process should be more streamlined and efficient. Then I ended up in a room that already had guests... good times. To make it up to us, they gave us a 20-minute massage at the spa, which I and my sister in law fully enjoyed. I had emailed the hotel directly in advance to advise that we were celebrating 3 different occasions, an anniversary, and 2 birthdays, nothing special was done to acknowledge this, not even a banner on the door. Room: Spacious, comfortable, and clean. Fridge stocked daily. Cool egg-shaped swing on balcony. Tons of closet and storage space. In room safe. Air conditioning worked well. Food and drink: The food was excellent almost everywhere we went, including the buffet. The Japanese restaurant was fun. The chefs we had, Danearo and Fabian Campbell, were great. Steakhouse was a bit disappointing. The "steak" was more like a cutlet. We had better steak at the Italian restaurant, which was our favorite. Mike's coffeehouse was a favorite of ours. We went once or twice a day for cappuccino and pastries. Drinks were definitely on the strong side. They just free pour, so if you want a good tasting drink, you need to ask them to go light on the booz. Jason at the lobby bar made the best drinks as well as Nashenia at the pool bar. We didn't try room service on this trip. I will say we had a not wonderful dining experience at the Steakhouse. We were seated outside, which was fine because it was a nice night. Also seated outside was a large group of 20 somethings. They thought it was appropriate to bring a personal speaker and play hip hop music loudly. They were all loud and obnoxious. We asked our waitress if they could be asked to at least turn their music down because we couldn't even hear each other speak. A supervisor, I think, came out and spoke to them. They turned it down for about 5mins and then back up it went. Nothing else was said. In fact, they got louder. It's not a pleasant experience. This should not have been permitted. Everyone is there to enjoy their vacation, but there is a time and place for everything. It was just rude. Grounds: Landscaping was well kept, and grounds were clean and maintained. There was always staff out cleaning, sweeping, etc. There were a couple of days when a broken pipe caused some water issues in the lobby as well as bathrooms by the pool. But they fixed this quickly. Entertainment: The entertainment team does a variety of activities around the pool and beach. Donella and Daniellia were great girls. The main entertainment dude with the super long hair was great, but i forgot his name! In the evening they have live entertainment in the courtyard and then a show in the theatre. For anything beyond that, there is a disco and sports bar on the Coral side. We did get in to the Bob Marley dinner show, it was a nice dinner and the show was good, very talented dancers. We joined the foam party at the Coral pool on the Saturday, it was a lot of fun. They had a pool party on Thursday night at the Eden pool which looked fun, but the pool water is so cold, I couldn't imagine jumping in at night. Guest services: There are a couple of restaurants you do need to make reservations for, like the Japanese and the Bob Marley show. I went to the guest services desk a couple of times for this purpose and need some help with their app. There was a woman with a hyphenated name that was just miserable, and not just to me. She was like that with other guests as well. She could use some lessons in customer service. I will say that if you choose to complete the questionnaire they send you via your email, they are quick to respond to concerns. The app was handy but also a bit glitchy for making reservations. 4.5/5 ** I would recommend this resort.
