Royal Level Equals Royal Experience
I strongly recommend La Carrate, find Lupe, Carlos and Carlos. They will create unforgettable dining adventures. Find Isaiah at member services who will fully explain how Barcelo resorts will benefit you. The beach is clean, the sand is white and the water is so blue. We are grateful for our time here. Thank you!

Amazing first stay at Occidental Cozumel and definitely not our last!
I was traveling with my husband and 5 adult children, ages 29-38. We all loved the resort, and this is why …. We liked that it was on the smaller side and you tended to see the same people throughout the week. Check in went smoothly and five of us were in building 15 and the other two in building 12. All the rooms were nice and hot water was never an issue. The staff was super friendly, the grounds were lovely and the entire resort was kept immaculately clean. We spent time at both pool areas and on the beach and enjoyed swimming in the ocean and snorkeling 4 of the 7 days. There was a croc warning one morning so they shooed us out of the ocean and later that day Mr Croc swam right past the resort! We watched the evening entertainment a few times and really enjoyed the mariachi band and the local dancers. The three à la carte dinners were good and we especially liked the Mexican and Italian. The breakfast and lunch buffets were good as well with plenty of options, a good omelet bar at breakfast and fresh guacamole, natchos and Cevichi at lunch which were delicious! The dinner buffets were just pretty good. Two of my kids are vegan and there were not a ton of options but they didn’t starve. Some tofu dishes would be an awesome addition. We rented Jeeps from HTL and toured the Island and booked a private snorkling tour with Mario from Abrimar. Both were great choices and highly recommended. My oldest daughter is fairly new to scuba diving. She completed her deep dive certification with Scuba Life and said her diving experience was first rate. Lastly, the First Club admin team at the resort were amazing. Very personable and not pushy. I met them the first day and they remembered my name the entire week. They also helped me get complimentary massages for my husband and son. We all had a wonderful time, and for the price we agreed it was really good value and would go again. Get Outlook for iOS

Great experience
I have just spent a week at the Occidental and I loved it. The staff were wonderful, the room was wonderful, the diving was wonderful. Reading some of the recent negative reviews I wonder if these people have stayed in the same hotel as me... or maybe they are just precious and entitled? My only suggestion for improvement would be that tea is a mystery to Mexican people and a kettle in the room would be nice. Oh, and a drying airer on terrace would also be very helpful.
