Marriott in great need of an upgrade.
The location is excellent. The hotel is not a great value for the price. The lobby is excellent with large bar area and plenty of seating. The rooms and bathrooms are in desperate need of upgrade. The bathrooms are small and very outdated. It's not a great Marriott experience.

Place needs a facelift
I feel compelled to write this as this is one of the worst experiences I have had in a hotel for a while. I will start by saying the staff at the desk, concierge area and the servers in the hotel bar were all lovely and super helpful. The rooms were clean, which is my bare minimum and why I didn’t make a huge stink while there. Beyond that, the room was dark, miserable-looking and outdated. The air conditioner was loud. They put the TV in front of the window so it blocked out most of the light. The water pressure was unbelievably bad - a faint trickle coming out of the shower head. Luckily I have thin hair and could still wash it, but I may as well have been washing it in the sink. Lastly, the room cleaning happened at 4 pm one day, when I was returning from my meeting, and the second day, I returned to my room at 4:45 pm, and it still was not cleaned. I was excited to see a peloton bike in the gym, but it was broken and the seat wouldn’t stay up. I then tried to use one of the treadmills and it was so sensitive if you laid anything on the console, that it activated the emergency switch and turned off. I travel a lot and have stayed at Marriott and other Marriot-affiliated hotels and was very surprised by all of this. I will definitely not stay here again.

Excellent
The whole experience was very pleasant, from the reception, to the parking. All the staff were competent and friendly. I felt special at all times, with little treats that made all the difference. A very technological hotel without losing the human warmth.

Very convenient location
This hotel has very convenient location. It is within walking distance of French Quarter, Outlet mall, and other shoppings. The room we booked was cleaned. The TV did not work, but it was fixed after I contacted the front desk. I would suggest the hotel post a simple visual sign be the elevator to show guests how to use the elevator to avoid confusion. I had a great time at New Orleans.

Noisy elevators
I have stayed here numerous times (at least 8 times for Mardi Gras weekend). The most recent was terrible. The room was fine, clean and a great view of the river, but I had the worst night's sleep ever. The elevators (which were not next to us, so I feel for the occupants of the rooms that were directly next to the elevator) were incredibly noisy. I have a video--it was clanking around (which also made me nervous). It sounded like construction work all night long. We were there for Mardi Gras, so obviously didn't expect it to be quiet and calm. The parades outside went very late and that noise was not a problem at all---the elevators were so loud that when we first arrived during the day, we actually thought it was construction as it was loud clanking/banging., metal scraping.... did not sound like an elevator. Had we been in the room longer when we first checked in we would have requested to move. We only realized it was the elevators when we came back late in the evening with tired children and went straight to bed. (but I was woken up at least 4 times throughout the night). Also, the pool was closed the first day we were there, which was disappointing as it was very warm. FYI, I live in Manhattan, and am used to noise at night--so for something to wake me up--it is VERY loud.
