Very Average Stay
This is our second stay at this hotel; our last visit was in 2019, so it has been a while. Let’s start with the positives. The staff are genuinely friendly and helpful, and the location truly cannot be beat. We’re here during Bayou Classic weekend, and it is extremely busy. It feels like the hotel is at full capacity—though I’m not sure it actually is—and yet the staff have remained gracious. We also appreciated the complimentary cocktail while waiting to check in. Now for the not-so-great. The rooms are very average, if not below average. We’ve stayed at many Marriott properties, and unfortunately this has been one of the weakest in terms of room quality. There is a renovation underway, so perhaps the updated rooms will be better, but our room showed clear signs of wear. The carpet is old, musty, and in need of deep cleaning. The bathroom is tiny and incredibly basic. The tub was not properly cleaned when we arrived, it drains painfully slowly, and we were only given one set of washcloths. Overall, the bathroom just didn’t feel as clean as it should have, so I ended up re-cleaning it myself. We notified the front desk about the tub, but the issue still persists. The construction noise is very loud. This is something that should be disclosed at booking so guests know what to expect. Overall, the hotel is serviceable but unremarkable. It’s not terrible, but it’s far from the best option in the area. We’ll likely stay somewhere else on our next visit, though I’ll keep an eye on reviews once the renovated rooms are complete.

another great stay
I had another great stay at the Canal Street Marriott. Was there for the recent AAA conference after a conference in San Juan immediately before my arrival. Lionel and Jarren were especially nice. Thank you, Lisa, for making me feel welcomed upon check in. Patrick and Patrick 2.0, as I called the latter, helped me get my Power Point on the screen in the meeting room. While it was noisy outdoors all night, I can't blame the hotel. It's near the French Quarter and there were so many things going on. Sorry I didn't make it to the M Club lounge, which came with my stay. Next time!

Quick overnight stay.
Room was fine and very clean. Mattress was firm and bedding was comfortable. Temperature was not consistent even set at 70 we were warm. Furnishings were appropriate. The discount to the burger bar was good for a meal before the football game.

Great time in NOLA
Remodeled room was comfortable and roomy. I had to run the water for a while to get it hot at 0430, but that was the worst problem. M club was great and parking a breeze.
