Location and nothing else
I am a titanium elite Marriott member so I have been to hundreds of properties. This was the worst. I will make it easy for you...if you want location and don't care if things go wrong and the staff doesn't care if you bring it up to han this place is for you. But you have to expect things like water going out for a full day, drilling in the room next to you early in the morning, being treated like a criminal when you go into the m lounge when you go to grab a soda, paying $55 for valet parking and then waiting while employees sit around and talk to each other and then expect a tip when it takes 20 minutes to get your car and on and on and on than this place is for you. Great location although noisy from the outside but that is not their fault. Now they are going to say some of these things are out of their control which is true but when you pay up to $500 a night you expect them to try and make some sort of effort to mitigate the problems. They do not do that here. So have a great trip whatever you choose.

⭐ 1 Star – Major Water Issues & Poor Customer Service
This was by far one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had at a Marriott property. When we arrived at the Marriott New Orleans, we were checked into a suite, but when we went to shower we discovered there was no hot water. After contacting the front desk, we were told that “that side of the building has been having water issues.” If the hotel was already aware of this problem, I don’t understand why guests were still being checked into rooms on that side; especially suites. The solution was to move us out of the suite we booked into a regular room on another side of the hotel, which was already frustrating. Two days later, the situation got worse. We woke up to no water at all in the room. When we called the front desk, the response was incredibly unprofessional, the agent actually laughed about the situation, saying it was a “city water issue.” Meanwhile, housekeeping staff were actively mopping floors with water, which made the explanation even more confusing. Between the ongoing water problems and the dismissive attitude from the front desk staff, the customer service experience was extremely disappointing and not what I expect from a Marriott property. I hope Marriott corporate reviews this situation, because guests should not be placed in rooms with known maintenance issues, and concerns should be handled professionally.

NOLA
According to Expedia, I’ve stayed at over 35 properties throughout the Americas, and I can say with all my heart that the New Orleans Marriott has the best staff members I’ve ever encountered. Ms. Jerkyra (I hope I’m spelling her name correctly) checked us in, and she truly set the tone for our entire stay. She greeted us with the warmest smile, reconfirmed all the details of our reservation, and took her time walking us through every perk of the property. She explained the complimentary tour available at the Sazerac House, shared details about credits we could use with the concierge toward booking excursions, and gave us a full lay of the property. It never felt rushed — just genuine hospitality at its finest. I had originally booked a standard king room, but at check-in we were upgraded to a river-view room on the 35th floor. The views were stunning! To top it off, the culinary staff surprised us with chocolate-covered strawberries and a bottle of prosecco — such a thoughtful and unexpected touch. The property itself was beautiful and impeccably maintained — not a single piece of trash in sight. The location couldn’t be better. It’s within walking distance of what feels like hundreds of restaurants and bars, and just about a four-minute “skip and a bop” to Bourbon Street. I’m already planning my next trip to NOLA, and I will absolutely be staying at the New Orleans Marriott again. Such a pleasant, memorable experience from start to finish!

Unnecessarily pricey.
Visited the pantry here for a quick grab and go meal. I loved the selection and display setups, but the prices here are crazy!! $5 for single disposable earplugs, $8 for a Celsius, $8 for a pre-made breakfast sandwich that someone just heat up behind a counter. I recommend shopping here out of desperation only, unless you wanna spend an arm and a leg.

Marriott @ 555 Canal Street gets 5 stars
I stayed at Marriott New Orleans on Canal Street on 3 different occasions and it still does not disappoint. I stayed in the newly renovated towers on the 32nd floor. The view was amazing overlooking the City view directly Canal Street. There was 5 parades (Mardi Gras season) on that day and we was able to view directly from the room. The rooms was clean and comfortable. We also had a hot breakfast buffet. I will stay there again. This Marriott is accessible to everything in surrounding Bourbon and Jackson Square. My only suggestion to the Marriott. Hotels are usually based on double occupancy. For the bathroom, please add more towel hooks. One hook is not enough for 2 people staying in the room.
