Good stay
Interesting hotel w interesting decor. Good friendly staff. The rooms were clean; amenities are as expected. There was ample underground parking (thought rather expensive at 36 CHF) I did not give this hotel 5 stars cos I found the hotel a bit dark. But otherwise a decent place to stay

What a let down. Amount paid did not justify the lack of service.
First impression of the hotel when you walked into reception was wow what a lovely place I have booked. The reception area when you walk in is quite stunning. Checked in all ok except for the fact that they ask for 500 CHF as a retainer which is extremely expensive. Something like half of that amount would be better. It was a good job. I had that amount in the account. But I was offered a free upgrade so that was nice. Let's see the lovely room. Then reality sets in. The room was however nothing like reception. First of all, the cleanliness of the room left a lot to be desired. There was debris in the runners for the bathroom door, hairs around one of the sinks areas. Marks around the bath. Also one of the windows had been left open defeating the point of the air con. So close it I hear you cry. Well you can’t as you need a special key. Reception had to send someone up to close it. Then the TV didn’t work. It stated that it needed to be tuned. There was a lot of atmospheric weather so I thought it may have been that. Also even though I probably would not use it, the radio in the bathroom also didn’t work. Perhaps the same issue? When I awoke the next morning to a lovely day the tv & radio still did not work so I told reception about the TV. They said the engineer was at the hotel from 8am and would get them to sort it. The receptionist even wrote it down to pass onto the engineer (Or so I hoped) I came back from my day out and nothing had been done. I went to the reception who finally sent someone to the room. They couldn’t fix the tv and said no engineer was on duty until the next day. I asked why no one had dealt with it after they had been told. No answer was forthcoming. They did offer me a new room a few doors down from the one I was in. I accepted but had to pack up immediately. Wow, give me 5 minutes. Just about managed it and moved down the corridor. Yes the radio worked. The TV also went to a fashion although again the reception it received was awful with the sound and picture often going off.. Now I will get onto the housekeeping or lack off. The cleaning of the room was abjectly poor. In fact it was truly disgraceful. Bear minimum appeared to have been done each day with rings from glasses still showing on the furniture. The glasses I had used from the bar were not taken away. And then on my final night, I came back to my room and well all I can say is "what the actual?" They were supposed to leave flannels, but none had been left. Only two towels left out of supposedly four. The soap not refilled. But then we get into the room and it appeared that the cleaners had been part of a pillow fight or a pigeon had managed to get into the room. There were feathers all over the carpet and in the bathroom. If it hadn't been 11pm when I got back I would have demanded another room change. And all 4 windows were open. So therefore the noise from the street was coming through into the room. And as stated you needed a special key to close them so it stayed loud all night. Truly for the money paid you should expect and receive so much better. I would expect better in a bog standard bed and breakfast. I urge you not to stay here.

A little far, but still convenient... Life is indeed Grand!
Was in Zurich for 3 nights in July for the Taylor Swift concert. While I booked months in advance, I was not able to get much closer to the city center. That said, nothing in Zurich seems far and public transportation is excellent. Clean, convenient and frequent enough. The city seemed safe so a 25 minute ride on 2 different tram lines was easy. The room was very nicely appointed. The curtains while electric were a bit difficult to navigate and the lights were either all on or all off. Was a pain when we only wanted the reading lights on one side of the bed on - couldn't do it. Not well lit even with all the lights on. The bathroom was spacious and had 3 compartments - sink area, toilet room and shower room. Made it convenient to share the space and still have privacy. The hotel had a promotion for the Taylor Swift guests - each Bonvoy member was able to make 2 bracelets. Check in was easy, fast and friendly. Our room was ready on arrival in the early afternoon. Honorable mention to Marco, the dining room manager. He was very helpful in guiding us to the park in Zurich where we could purchase our TS merch and advised on the quickest way to the concert venue. I saw him the next morning and he apologized (for no reason) that he forgot to let us know that there was a vantage point up high where we could have looked down into the stadium not far from one of train stops. That was very kind even mention. He said he stumbled upon this location on the night Cold Play was playing and enjoyed some of the show. Thanks for a great and memorable stay. Life is Grand

Greedy unprofessional management
Booked 4 rooms 11 months ago at AAA rate of 215CHF for the night of the Taylor Swift concert.. Reservations clearly confirmed. Less than one week before check in, they sent a message saying the policy is that each person could only book 2 rooms at that rate in their names and so they cancelled 2 of the rooms. Instead of contacting me and asking if I wanted to change the names, as clearly I was not going to be staying in all 4 rooms myself, they just cancelled without warning. They then tried to get me to rebook the same rooms for over 2000CHF each!

Well below expectations for a Marriott affiliate property
This hotel was one of the most disappointing ones my wife and I have stayed at in recent memory. Being a Marriott affiliate hotel we expected much higher standards. The mattress was VERY saggy throughout the middle, the pillows were AWFUL & as flat as newspaper, and we had to dust the headboard ourselves which was DISGUSTING!! It looked like we gathered a small cat on the hand towel. If you have even minor dust allergies do not even consider this place. You can see constantly floating dust under the bedside lamps. You cannot get any coffee in the morning whatsoever unless you are airline crew. I was in the lobby early looking for options as we like to get an early start each day in vacation. I saw the machine out for the crew but was told there’s nothing available for other guests of the hotel which was rather insulting and inconvenient. I felt like I was using Morse code to work the bathroom lights as half the time I couldn’t turn them off because there was more than one setting. The hotel might have been better if the company spent more money on cleanliness and the guest BASICS like a comfortable bed and coffee, instead of tacky and over-the-top themed decor at each turn. We just wanted a decent bed to sleep in and morning coffee, and received neither. This hotel misses the mark BIG TIME.
