Nice hotel--not really a "resort and spa"

The hotel is fine. It's not really what we expected when we booked, but the staff are friendly and the facility was clean which is the most important thing. Location was great. Easy to walk to pretty much anywhere you wanted to go to eat, drink, or shop. I am pretty picky when it comes to outdated/worn rooms and decor, and I am quite surprised by the amount of reviews stating this place is outdated. Our room was updated, clean, and modern. Maybe only some of the rooms are updated? Our two-balcony room was nicely updated.  The Market to-go is a nice amenity with good options for lunches or snacks. The bed was comfortable, but the pillows--like most hotel pillows--are terrible. The bathroom was clean. The tub was really deep, so if you are a bath person this might be a nice place for that. Shor Restaurant was delicious and we had great service there. There aren't a lot of nice restaurants in Clearwater Beach, so this was the best meal we had on our trip.   A few things we took issue with: -Resort fee inclusions state four water bottles per day which we assumed would be placed in our room during cleaning. We did not get the water bottles and ended up buying probably 4 per day from the little shop. The facility also does not have any bottle refill stations which would have been helpful. -Daily pool snacks? We went to the pool twice and the only food we saw was the restaurant food for purchase. -I am just now, after reading these reviews, finding out that there is a hot tub on property. This is actually something that we really would have benefited from as my husband was recovering from an injury. Where's the hot tub? No one mentioned it to us and it's not at the pool, the spa, or the gym.  -The spa was nice. I reserved a Tangerine Clay Detox wrap and am pretty sure I was given a different scrub/wrap instead. It was still relaxing, but I missed the clay part. The spa would also benefit from some wet facilities or light food and beverage service in the Relaxation Room. Otherwise, it's just a quick trip to the spa and not really an experience. The locker rooms are not great. Tropico Cantina--really terribly slow service. Something must have been going on that they didn't really give details about. The server told us when we sat down that it was probably going to be 30 minutes for food. We said that since we had the notice this was fine with us. Well, the food took over an hour. We ended up asking for it to take back to our room because we were so tired of sitting there at that point. The servers were great, no issue with them, but the amount of time it took to get two orders of tacos was weird.  Pool service--the QR code to order opened a page that said this was unavailable. Yet plenty of people near us were receiving service at their seats. We went to order drinks at the bar and there were no frozen drinks, which we were looking forward to after reading the menu online. This was pretty odd.  Pool deck--the construction of this hotel makes the pool deck incredibly windy. In March it made it quite chilly, but I can't imagine that even in the dead heat of summer that the wind tunnel it creates is relaxing. Towels, food, empty cups, books, clothes--pretty much everything you weren't physically holding down was going to fly everywhere. Nothing that can really be done about this now, but something to take note of if you are planning to enjoy the pool. I would also say that I don't think they have enough pool chairs for the size of the hotel. Again, the hotel is still a good place to stay if you are looking for clean rooms, convenient location, and friendly staff. It's just not really what was promised as a "Resort & Spa"

You won't want to check out

Was here with my wife for a mini honeymoon for a couple days, and I wish I'd stayed longer, amazing hotel, great amenities, great location right in front of the beach, friendly and helpful staff, overall a great experience. If I had to pick one little thing for them to improve is the pillows, I needed like 2 or 3 to sleep comfortably, but besides that, 10/10

    Good service, great location

Housekeeping is very good and staff overall very kind and helpful. The location at the beach is amazing. The food, towel service, beach amenities and spa are thoughtful. Traffic in and out of Clearwater Beach can be challenging, so we planned our arrival and departure during non-peak traffic times.

    Family beach getaway

Amazing location… saw sunset over the beach and Gulf, and sunrise over the marina. Very close to the Pier for sunset festivities and really entertaining buskers. Great food on site and a close walk to excellent restaurants nearby. Will be back!

    Extremely pleasant stay

We went down to Clearwater for baseball Spring Training. Being a Phillies and Yankees family we found the hotel to be perfectly located by the beach, close enough to both ballparks. The service was excellent, and the staff quickly responded to each of our requests The hotel itself is somewhat dated, but our room had a full kitchen, great view, and very comfortable pillows. This was our 5th visit to Clearwater and we wouldn't hesitate to stay at the Hyatt again next year when we return with more family members
