Wonderful hotel
The Hilton Sydney was a wonderful hotel from the time we arrived till the time we left. Everything was on schedule and the service was excellent. The hotel breakfast is wonderful with plenty of options. There is a buffet and an omelette station. Everything about the hotel was great and I would definitely recommend it.

Dissappointing
(+):- location -early check in -full window blinds -filtered water tap in the bathroom -life cooking for breakfast (-): -lobby with no atmosphere -we were going for my daughters bday, most 5star hotels honourit somehow with a piece of cake, card, balloon, happy bday at reception. Hilton Syd did nothing. -gym/pool area is the worst have experienced in years. It's under Fitness First and the hotel does not seem to bother. Eg. no towels for pool. The pool area is old and dirty. The water is very cold. People from outside can enter. They close as soon as 6pm on weekends. 5 star hotel should not advertise pool as a hotel facility since the pool does not meet any standards close to the hotel ones. - no pancakes for breakfast - barista made coffee for additional $6 - I asked for a QVB view for breakfast, the lady said there is no available, so I needed to go and show her there were actually 2 tables. She gave us one more in the back as the other was "taken". People came to it 30 min.later though - housekeeping seems lost, they wanted to enter 30 min prior to my check out Not worth the price. Not kerping up with the brands quality. There are better options in the cbd. Will not be coming back

Good stay
We really liked this hotel but there are a few issues that need attention. We checked in after arriving on a cruise ship. The staff were very helpful and checked our bags so we could explore the city until our room was ready. They also gave us early access to the Executive Lounge. Our room was very nice. It offered great views from a high floor and was very spacious (mini suite). Unfortunately, there were some maintenance issues. During our first night, the AC leaked water on the tile entry floor. My wife fell, fortunately not getting hurt. This was fixed promptly. There were also problems with the shower controls. There was one attempt to fix it before we checked out but it wasn't successful. We are Hhonors Diamond so we have access to the Executive Lounge, which is a very nice space. The food and snacks were nice but we did wish that it stayed open a little later ( 8 pm is a little early). We also had the option of having breakfast in the restaurant. It was excellent and had a wide variety of options. Guest have access to a private fitness center in the lower level. It's large and well equipped although the pool is set up for laps rather than relaxing. All of the service staff were helpful and very nice. Other than the issues noted, we enjoyed the hotel and plan to return.

Imperfectly Nice
It's a Hilton in the middle of a large city so you kind of expect perfection. Our room was very nicely appointed, and it looks like it may have been renovated in the past few years. State if the art electric blinds, TV in the shower, fluffy robes......what a shame we had only 1 towel. Quite neglectful on the part of the housekeeping service. The problem was quickly solved and by staff. I opted for the digital check-in which went very smoothly. The digital key works well for the rooms, but not at all for the lifts so you will need a standard key. The iconic Marble Bar is located downstairs and there were a few very nice bars inside the hotel. What a shame they were closed by 10pm (on a Saturday)....well almost closed, until about 8 guests all showed up and they decided to stay open. For the price you pay things should be perfect....I'm not saying we didn't have a nice stay., I'm just stating that there are a few things that could be done better.
