Dec 31, 2025Terrible stay – Not worthy of the Hilton
Absolutely terrible stay. You would never guess this is a Hilton. The hotel is a franchise, and it clearly operates with aggressive cost-cutting and no regard for guest experience. Check-in was cold and unwelcoming. As a Hilton Gold member, my upgrade was handled reluctantly at the lowest possible level. The room ventilation did not work at all, windows cannot be opened, and we spent three nights without fresh air — with a 3.5-year-old child. Heating barely functioned until a portable heater was brought. Child bed arrived without a blanket or pillow, TV was outdated and barely usable, and breakfast was extremely limited and repetitive. Shockingly, there was no coffee machine, even in the executive lounge and during the breakfast as well. The hotel looks modern, but design means nothing when basic comfort and service fail. Not recommended. We will never stay here again.

I have stayed here for the last 4 years as part of the hogmanay show team. Service is always first class and the breakfast has plenty of choice and gluten free food is catered for well. The serving staff can not do enough for you especially Lou, she look after us so well. She went above and beyond to help us . Thank you Lou you made the start of our day a true pleasure.

Strange set up and getting yo my room was a challenge. Refurbishment on one floor, saw a mouse. Room was clean. Good was really great. Great location

Fantastic place to stay
Beautiful hotel situated in the heart if Edinburgh. Perfect for rail travellrs and close to all Edinburgh has to offer. From the moment we stepped in till the moment we left we were treated so well by all staff. The room was excellent very clean and comfortable, fantastic views of the gardens where the Christmas market was lovely to see at night all lit up. I would like to pay special tribute to Emily in the main resturaunt where the food and drink were amazing, she was very friendly and always smiled. Very attentive and made us feel so welcome. The atmosphere was great where there was a jazz duo playing in the room. Breakfast was great with lots of choices and the staff were so welcoming. Louise is a credit to the hotel. She was very friendly and made sure we had enough coffee. Thank you Louise. Over all we would highly recommend this hotel as a base for all sightseeing in Edinburgh.

Lovely Hotel
Had a lovely stay here for 2 nights 20/21st December. Lovely hotel very clean all staff very welcoming and friendly. Very convenient location for all the city centre attractions! Lounge and bar area very nice, warm and friendly. Full English buffet breakfast has everything you could want!
