Great hotel

Our trip to Edinburgh was a great experience, hilton Edinburgh carlton was great, clean n very friendly. In particular daisy and djilali in the hotel bar were brilliant very helpful. Would definitely visit again... over all great weekend .....

Birthday celebration

Visited the Carlton to celebrate my birthday with friends and was not disappointed, Carlton is an amazing central point to explore Edinburgh , from the welcome at reception, rooms were spacious, big shout out to Nick and DJ at the bar who made amazing cocktails , thank you for making my day special

Disappointed

Not sure about the 5 star reviews, but Alice Feb 25 has it right. Difficult to find for a first time visitor behind extensive scaffolding, additional exterior signage is not difficult to add and would help. The ground floor is extensively boarded up and nothing like the photos the hotel uses, it’s a shame the hotel do not advise guests of this after 2 years. Boarding up continues on other floor levels. Internal signage is poor, found it difficult to locate the restaurant. Tiny lifts and long queues at times Room was generally clean but needs updating. Showers not particularly strong. Some staff members helpful others not so. Good location, good choice at breakfast but at £27.50 each it should be.

Hilton and it’s staff

Great location, still under remodel two year after first visit. Rooms generally quite. Staff is good and some are great. Daisy with the in house bar restaurant was excellent!! So with all that being said it is still a corporate chain. With out the people it would be very average. The old mantra of Conrad Hilton is an orphan in an analytical world. Daisy and staff are the best.

Great breakfast and amazing service.

Excellent service. Good breakfast. The attention of David Lov was amazing. He was always taking care of anything needed. They offer a full Scotch breakfast which was delicious. Also bakery and coffee are really good. Strongly recommend to stay at this hotel and have the breakfast there.
