  Great time had!

  We had a wonderful time! The resort staff were very friendly and helpful! Look out for Joselito when you head to the beach, he is handing out towels and will help set you up at the beach for the day! We really appreciated him! There was lots of food options and availability. Some of the food is not the best flavor but all edible. The rooms were clean and comfortable.

  Nice place

  Just returned from a week at Hideaway with diamond club and swim out room. Having previously stayed up the road in Royalton Bavaro we had heard that this hotel wasn’t as nice but were pleasantly surprised and actually preferred this hotel to Bavaro as it was better set out and had a child free pool in the hideaway section. Staff were very friendly and didn’t pester or give preferential treatment to the big tippers unlike other resorts. Since our last visit yo a Royalton resort they have introduced an app which allows every guest in the complex to book restaurants which means that you don’t actually need a butler anymore so we questioned why we actually went diamond club particularly as the small diamond club lounge in hideaway was very poor and often didn’t have the drinks we wanted and staff often not around to serve us. The food in the restaurants was always cold however the main buffet was excellent and even had grilled lobsters one day. Didn’t get ill and the rooms were very clean. 3 star review based on cold food and rubbish diamond club service (apart from butler who came to say hello every day).

  Wonderful week!!!

  This is our second time visiting this resort and we were diamond club. Beach is one of the best we have ever been to (no seaweed). We had a great week and service was very good. We really enjoyed Dorado for breakfast and Jade and Mexican restaurants were our favourites for dinner but others were good as well. Standout employees were our butlers Jhoenmy and Rodvel who provided great service. Dorado staff were outstanding especially Edwin and Baron but all were excellent. Wanda at the diamond club lounge was very inviting, we called it Wanda’s Bar. Hector at Jade and Everly at the Mexican were great as well. We will return for sure and would highly recommend. We feel for the price point you receive quality service and food.

  Superior Staff

  This may have been our best family vacation ever. This was our second trip back to Hideway at Royalton and we were not disappointed. The entire staff from the time we arrived until it was time to leave were nothing but amazing to me and my family. Special thanks goes to Juan and Josmerlyn at the Hideaway pool made our days by the pool a great experience. Two of the most special people you could ever meet. We were very excited to find out that they were both still there . Remembering them from our last trip. Another person that we we so excited to see was Jonathan who is now in the lounge bar upstairs. His outgoing and positive attitude as well as his amazing drinks help make our evening memorable .Thank you all again for another incredible family vacation.

  Not 5 Star, need to step up customer service.

  Where do I start? We booked 10 nights at the Hideaway Royalton Punta Cana. Firstly the positives; Large spacious rooms, decent balcony with a garden view. Hotel grounds are well maintained. Staff are generally very attentive and pleasant (we did find a few exceptions). Plenty of sun beds available on the beach, but at times felt a little crowded. Genuinely a very pleasant stay and rest. However, there were a few niggles that let the hotel down; 1) The speciality restaurants were not up to the standard expected. The food quality was far from perfect, and in some cases the service wasn’t great. One one occasion we used the “Hideaway only” restaurant for lunch, and after waiting 40 mins with no food delivery we asked where it was up to, to be told 2 mins. After a further 10 the main meal arrived, the starters had been missed. After a confusing discussion, we gave up and just accepted the main meal. We were made to feel we were the issue not them. Didn’t go back after that. 2). Room walls are very thin. On our 2nd week we had loud talking from adjoining room for 90 mins at 01:30 in the morning. I used the noise complaint option on the hotel app to report it. Turns out the app is not monitored overnight. The report was picked up at 07:00 and just closed as resolved with no action. My note to the hotel is “if you put functionality in an app then you need to have the process to monitor it, if noise is an issue it’s going to be in the out of hours time”. 3) If you want adults only and quiet, this is not the hotel, the Hideaway pool is lively and noisy, maybe your thing, but if it’s not it can be a disappointment. 4). Special restaurants are booked on the app, open to book from 18:00 for the following night, which stops the booking ahead, which is fair. The only issue we had was on our final night. We had booked Italian at 20:15, but part was through the day we had a 2nd entry for 17:30 for a different restaurant. The Hideaway reception were unable to help other than cancel it. After cancelling the original entry reappeared. However, we later found out it had been closed to use the staff to service a large wedding. There was no explanation given or apology. Communication is not great, and reception staff don’t appear to be kept informed of events. 5) Requested luggage transfer from the room at checkout time, from the guest services who were sited in our building (note if you’re on upper floors the hotel has no lifts). After waiting 30 mins we had no option but to move our own cases, guest services did not even comment when we dragged them passed. The hotel needs to put more effort into the small touches rather than keep asking is everything OK. Bottom line, we had a good holiday and rest, but will not be returning.
