Moldy smelling rooms with no exhaust
This was my second business stay, first stay was ok, but my TV didn't work until I rebooted it as I got no other help. This time, I learned that I can choose my own room ahead of time and get the touch room key on my phone. It turns out you still have to check in at the front desk to provide the ID. When I opened the door (4th floor) a foul smell of moldy damp room hit me and there was no way I could stay there breathing it 2 nights. I asked for another room. 2nd floor. Smell was till there as well and the bathtub had toilet paper stuffed in instead of a bathtub stopper. I wanted to call downstairs but the phone was offline (yes it was plugged in). I asked for another room. Third room (also on 2nd floor for some reason) was still damp and smelled like vinegar the whole time of my stay. I was originally on 4th floor, I got downgraded to 2nd to stare at a concrete roof, I suppose I was punished for the switch. Usually the hotel would be embarrassed and upgrade you, but not here, and I just wanted a non-smelly room. At my 3rd room TV didn't work neither and I had to reboot. 1 coffee pack only. There is no exhaust in this hotel's bathrooms so the moisture never leaves. My colleague had a room with a door on the bathtub (I had motel-style curtain) and he said that water leaked through the glass door when he showered and had to clean up the floor but it was too late when he got out as it leaks out and under the carpet. Hmm, I wonder if that's where the mold comes from, just happily growing unseen under. We bring so much business to this hotel, yet even a motel is maintained better. Restaurant is understaffed in the evenings but at least there is one. The kiosk is great to have 24/7.

Certain staff and many things not working made it stressful
Came out here with my partner for a company trip and the african american lady i have seen her only during the evenings of 12/2 12/3 she has straight black hair she is super super kind she has been the only person here that made it enjoyable. First of all, our rooms internwt does not work at all she was kind enough to offer me diff rooms but none worked so stayed with original one. The shower got clogged room 312 and the following morning (other lady) was not friendly she lied that she could not give US another room because they were FULLY booked NO ROOMS AVAILABLE this was 12/3 morning right before 7am. My partner had to show up to his company training at another location at 8:30am and she carelessly told us that they were booked and maintenance guy wasnt available until 7:30am .. then we mentioned our company name then she switched it with ill call someone to unclog it right now.. NO ONE SHOWED UP. No one came to look for us. An hour later or so, we told another lady in the front desk about the situation she just made a face then said “thats an easy fix” ill send someone out.. maintenance guy couldnt do it he needed atronger tools then magically they switched us rooms. (What happened to “no rooms available?”. Morning of 12/4 came downstairs got some breakfast because I was feeling dizzy i have medical condition giving me light headadness so i decided get some breakdast to enjoy it in my room calmly (i seen others take it to their room previous day) and a server . He was bald approached me asking me for my room number. I kindly gave it to him was being nice to him when he told me i couldnt take my food to my room i had to eat it there and that now i know for tomorrow. I kindly apologized told him i did not know didnt mention anytbing else. The fact that he approached me like if i was doing something illegal threw me off im a very kind person but certain staff here and things not working dissapointed me. I took this same trip at a different hotel and never had one single issue especially because a big company paid for all this. The only one that was super kind to everyone and went above and beyond was the older african american lady skinny she has worked in the evenings so far she checked me in initially on monday evening i told her i was going to write. A good review on her and only her.

Mix bag/check bar receipts
It’s a mixed bag. The great: location, very clean rooms, cookies!!! The bad: the bar!! Sneaky staff (Deanne) upsold label without asking, rang it up as a large party with tip (even though it was a single purchase. No tab. One glass of wine) I noticed this happened to people next to me as well. Rooms: bathrooms don’t have a fan. They get humid from shower.

5 star experience at the doubletree because of Dee!
First class experience at Doubletree! An individual named “Dee” at the bar went beyond the call of duty to ensure our organizations dinner and experience exceeded expectations. Because of Dee our experience was 5 star. Dee is an absolute assert to the Doubletree team.

Trip with skating team to Irvine California
I had an amazing experience at my stay here in Irvine California! The room service was very considerate of our belongings when coming in to maintenance our rooms. They were very kind and did well with catering to teenagers. In addition to the room service we had multiple amazing drivers that took us to and from our desired locations. They were very friendly and outgoing and were very open to our wants and asks. Thank you to all who helped make mine and my teams stay great!
