Jan 18, 2025What a shame this hotel is a dump, owners need to spend money to update hotel.
Upon entering our room it smelt very musty even the bed sheets smelt as if the room had been locked up for awhile. We purchased a can of air freshener to try and make the room smell better. One of the walls had paint bubbling which is a sign of damp. The hotel is so run down, would not stay here again. I don’t know they rate it as a 4 star, in my opinion it is a 2 1/2 star hotel.

My friends and I definitely enjoyed our stay at the Astor Crowne Plaza! The hotel is centrally located, which was the icing on the cake for our stay. All the staff were amazing, but I wanted to give a special shoutout to two employees that were the most helpful and welcoming. One is Carla, the concierge, and the other is Nico, the main staff member in the Executive Lounge. Carla provided my friends and I with multiple recommendations for tours and food. All were great! Nico helped my friends and I when we were lost in the hotel. He also was an amazing host in the Executive Lounge! It felt as if you were in at the bar in the old show Cheers. I swear he knew every guest personally. Overall, we had a great stay!

Carla was so helpful
The entire staff was pleasant and helpful. But Carla is who I had the most interaction with. She had a friendly and inviting demeanor. Definitely a people person. She also, was extremely knowledgeable. She gave us recommendations on tours, food and shopping areas. Having someone readily accessible to be a guide was great!

Great experience!
Everything was great during the stay and Nico was a wonderful host! The hotel is located at a very convenient location, and the amenities are amazing. I had no issues during the stay and the staff was polite, professional, and knowledgeable.

Iman is AMAZING!!!
To preface, I am not a fan of NOLA. (Sorry…I’m more of a fan of Alaska…wildlife, glaciers…the hustle and bustle of NOLA or any city gives me anxiety). So anyone that does a little extra (or in this case a lot of extra) deserves recognition. I’m here for a conference but have to work during the off hours. Iman knew exactly what I needed! Her patience with me, listening to my needs as a business person was far superior to any work travel experience I have had. She provided me with the accommodations that allowed me to work comfortably and separate work space from relaxing space. (This is important to me). Iman went above and beyond to meet my needs to make my business travel enjoyable (I do not enjoy work travel). Not only was the space exactly what I needed, it was away from the elevator so no extra disruptive noises. Besides the superior customer service from Iman, the hotel is conveniently located at canal and Bourbon. Convenience stores accessible in all directions. The room is lovely, clean, and spacious. Ample work space for my computer off to the side of the relaxation area with a couch, chairs and nice sized T.V.
