  A Good Option Before/After a Flight

  We stayed at this hotel for roughly 24 hours prior to flying out of SJO after returning from the coast. The hotel is quite far from the city center and any attractions, but it is very close to the airport, so I would not recommend staying here for more than a night or two revolving around flights. The property is immaculate and immense, the atmosphere is stunning, and the room was quite comfortable for a one night stay. Service was consistently friendly and accommodating. A special shoutout to Kristal in the lounge for going above and beyond!! The lounge offerings were the only low-point of the stay. The room was very crowded and it offered little privacy. It took nearly an hour for the food to be replenished during happy hour, and breakfast was not much better in speed or quality. There is a live egg station which is highly appreciated, however there is no ventilation from the cooking, so the whole room smells of oil (as did we for the remainder of the day). We took the free hotel airport shuttle and were the only passengers in our van, which was a great final impression. Overall, we would stay at this hotel again the next time our travels bring us to Costa Rica if we see our flights demand a stay in San Jose.

  Marriott Experience in Costa Rica

  An upscale hotel with great food and friendly staff. I would’ve given it a five however they had no heat, even though it was very cold at the time due to strong winds and cool weather and also wind was getting into the room from outside as the glass was not sealed tight.

  Wonderful hotel, I recommend this place.

  We stayed at the Marriot Hacienda for 4 days and it was great. The rooms were clean and well appointed. The staff is all very nice and helpful. It was a great experience. Our room was on the 6th floor and we loved the green parakeets that nested in the palms below us. The hotel has a decent gym and we took advantage of he ability to keep up with our lifting during our vacation. I want to give a special shout out to Caleb Samudio. He was very kind and helpful to me when purchasing gift shop items. Next time in Costa Rica, I will stay at this same hotel for my city stays. Thanks for everything. Keep up the good work, Hacienda Belen. :)

  Fox News contaminating the Executive Lounge

  Fox News is constantly on the TV in the Executive Lounge. Have complained but they ignore requests to put on neutral news channel. They just say someone requested the channel. Even though 90% of the guests don't like it they do it anyway.

  Stunning property with amazing service – 10/10

  My family and I stayed here post-Christmas (12/26–12/31) and had a wonderful time. The property is magnificent—it has a historical "haveli" charm with a central courtyard, open verandas, and lots of natural light. The atmosphere is incredibly relaxing with cool breezes, lush greenery, and the sound of parrots and exotic birds. A special shout-out to Brian, who went above and beyond. He gave us a great tour of the grounds and helped coordinate our transport to the volcanoes. Pros: • Beautiful architecture and golf course views. • Peaceful atmosphere full of nature. • Exceptional service (Ask for Brian!). Cons: • The Executive Lounge is a bit small for the size of the hotel; be prepared to wait for a seat during peak times. Overall, a 10/10 stay. We will be back.
