Marriott NYE
We love the Marriott Coronado. We live in San Diego and Coronado really feels like a vacation. We visit 1-2 times a year and always stay here. That being said a few things were run down and really need attention. The pillows on the outdoor chairs have slowly been deteriorating and now are totally unusable. The chair in the room was ripped and the toilet paper was not replaced before our arrival. Rick at the front desk was rude and dismissive and needs customer service training. We stayed Dec 30-jan 1 and my platinum status gave me a $50 gift card that expired 12/31. When I wanted to apply it mid stay here wouldn't listen and just told me to do it at the end of the stay which I know I could not do because of the expiration. Ivan at the front desk was very nice. He was not able to grant my requests but he was so nice about it, I get it being NYE. Dalina (not sure the spelling) in the bar was a true highlight. She was so nice and remembered our names after our first visit. We will still come back but Marriott please do some resort improvements to justify the price. View and location can only go so far.

Very nice stay!
I really enjoyed my stay here for a work conference. Even though it is on Coronado Island, it is very close to the train station and the airport. The property is located on a pathway on the bay that leads to several other restaurants nearby. The rooms overlook the water and the bridge, and the view is stunning. The rooms are spacious, the bed was comfortable, and the heating and air conditioning system was not loud and was effective. The property itself is very nice for a conference. Everyone I interacted with was super nice, and I felt well taken care of during my stay.

Mediocre for the Price
The hotel staff cleaned our room very late everyday (5pm ish), once when we were in the room, and they forgot to clean it on our second to last day, unacceptable. The restaurant is sub par, potatoes not crisp, maybe two days old. On the positive side the location is very nice, views amazing, and staff friendly.

VERY DISAPPOINTED!
As a loyal Marriott member, I was sadly disapointed by the condition of the Coronado Island Marriott Resort & Spa. The staff were friendly and helpful. This hotel is definitely in need of a major renovation. The lobby seating looked old and used, the rugs were stained and the tiles in the atrium area were cracked. The restaurant menu was limited and this is the first time I could not get free coffee at a Marriott. The elevator on our wing was out of order for 2 days (still not working when we left). No effort was made to help patrons with their luggage, if needed. You charged $45/day resort fee and $47/day parking. I received no value for either of those charges. This is the first time I have felt the need to write a poor review after staying at every level of Marriott for more than 40 years.

Disappointed
We were disappointed with this so called resort. It is very old and our ceiling looked horrible. There is a stain on the carpet and I couldn’t open the slider to the balcony. There is a $49 resort fee and the parking is $47 parking fee!!!. When leaving the parking area we were charged another $20 or the arm wouldn’t come up. We got reimbursed for the $20 but the stay there was regrettable. The staff was nice but this hotel is not what we expect from Marriott. Especially for the price and all the fees. Do not waste your money!!!
