Terrific resort hotel at Sand Key
Stayed here as I am a ‘Marriott’ guy, conference was at the Hilton. I was greeted by the exceptional front desk team of Sophia and Sean. They were courteous, kind and very efficient. Same goes for the restaurant staff and everyone here. Makes you really feel wanted here. I had a 2 room suite on the 8th floor. My balcony opened to the bay and straight down was the beautiful pool. My room was very clean and well appointed. The hotel food was exceptional as well as the service. You are only a mile or so from everything you need, groceries, package store, you name it. Great restaurants within walking distance of the property. a 5 star experience for me. Tip of the hat to the entire team here!!

Too many dogs, no coffee!
Here for a week. We work and spend a lot of time in hotels. Beautiful property. Here's some tips to optimize your stay. There is NO COFFEE service, so bring your own coffee set up, creamer and sugar. Otherwise it's the Starbucks only $$$. The "in room" coffee is a joke, it's terrible. Request a room overlooking the pool - the north side of the property is downwind of the restaurant and after 4 PM your balcony is not usable due to the overwhelming smoke and exhaust smell from the restaurant. LOTS of dogs barking all day long as their irresponsible "owners" are out enjoying themselves. Dogs don't like to be left alone all day folks! This is a common problem at all hotels these days. I feel so sorry for the dogs and find dog "guardians" irresponsible across the board. I wish for hotels with dog free wings or some way to control all the barking. Otherwise, this hotel is lovely and I will return w/ coffee set up and earplugs to tolerate all the barking.

Consummate Concierge
My wife and I have been Marriott owners for over 25 years and have enjoyed Marriott properties all over the world. We had read reviews online and found that everyone who visited remarked about how well they were treated by staff. We were not disappointed as everyone had a smile and a willingness to help. Our stay at this Marriott was made even more memorable by the concierge, Mike Lopes. Always an effervescent smile on his face, he eager to help in every way possible, even on several occasions going above and beyond. By the time we left, we felt that MikeL was almost like a friend of the family and we plan to keep in touch via email.

Great time! The staff was great! Meli tended to us like family!❤️ She took great care of us during our stay. She was friendly and thorough and took care of our every need. The pool was closed at the beginning of our day but open by the end, after hurricane repairs. Enjoyed the pool deck and staff as well.

Amenities closed due to storm damages
It could have been nice at the Marriott on Sand Key. It’s a top hotel in a great location with a lot of friendly and knowledgeable staff members, but we only learned about the unavailability of pool and outdoor bar due to hurricane damages after our check in. From our view of things not ok, because overnight rates haven’t been discounted. Lots of debris on the road and parking lot, too. Rooms with balcony are great, spacious and modern. Two flat-screen tv’s. We’d give this Marriott a second chance when in the area.
