Great place for family
Great place, good buffet food, lots of activities for family and kids, friendly staff, they are very accomodating. I love the nature, you can see the wild animal but they are harmless. Great food in ala carte. Love staying at the beach. Lots of entertainment.

Great service and Super clean!
The staff was incredible! My husband and I really enjoyed our stay. Food selection was great and the al la carte fantastic. Loved the pool and beach. Beach was a short trolley ride away with bar service and comfy beach chairs. Would definitely return to this resort.

Book Tulum Grand Bahia instead
We went as a group of 8 people and had been to the Coba before. Returning there was a bit of a disappointment. We were suddenly not able to use the snack bar by the beach (or any of the chairs near the snack bar) unless we paid an additional $200 US to upgrade, so had to return to the Coba which often took up to 1/2 hour plus by trolley. There were NEVER enough chairs at the beach. The ocean was full of rocks (which was not our previous experience so they must have had a bad storm) - it was almost unswimmable except for a tiny spot. The entertainment was fantastic, except 1/2 the time you had to pay to attend. The sanitary conditions at the buffet were disappointing - maybe 1000 people all using the same utensil to dish up various dishes, plus I watched people use their hands to dig through food for their desired items. There was no supervision or hand wash stations or sanitizer. Out of 8 of us, 3 got very ill with diarrhea and vomiting, and 2 got bad bellies for a day. The resort otherwise was clean, drinks were good, and service was good. My suggestion would be to pay the additional cost and book at the Tulum Grand Bahia Principe as it part of the same resort but a valuable upgrade.

Serious Health Concerns- Shellfish allergy ignored and Salmonella Poisoning
This resort is huge and requires lots of walking to the beach. If you are staying at Grand Coba you either need to take the tram or walk about 10 minutes to access the beach. The food choices were horrible. I stayed 4 nights total and was never able to get a reservation at any of the restaurants. My friends stayed for 10 nights and too were never able to get dining reservations. My only choice was to eat at the buffet. While usually I am very content with the buffet some nights while staying at a resort, it is paramount that I cannot have any cross contamination with shellfish. Shellfish was located throughout the buffet and often not labeled correctly that it contained shellfish. As someone with a severe shellfish allergy that includes anaphylaxis, how they have seafood throughout their buffet is very dangerous for anyone who has a similar allergy. I made it clear to the staff multiple times of my allergy, yet my dietary restrictions were not taken seriously. To make matters worse, I contracted salmonella at the resort. The day after I came home, my symptoms started leading to severe illness that required emergency care on 2 separate occasions for IV fluids due to severe dehydration. This not only ruined my any positive vacation experience, it also resulted in medical expenses and ongoing discomfort. Food safety and allergy awareness should be a top priority at any resort, and unfortunately, Bahai Príncipe Grand Coba failed in this regard. I urge management to take immediate action to improve their food handling practices and staff training to prevent this from happening to others. Until significant improvements are made, I cannot recommend this resort and will never stay with this brand for any future travels. I have traveled to many resorts in Mexico, Punta Cana DR, Montego Bay Jamaica, and Colombia and this is the first time that I experienced this regarding my severe food allergy and Salmonella poisoning.

Don’t go there!
Way too many issues to list. Here’s a few….. the room was VERY dated, the food was plentiful but tasteless and always cold, there was quite a language barrier there- staff did not speak English, transportation to AND from the airport (booked through Bahía) was a nightmare. The straw that broke…..we had a wake up call for 3am, and were told that they would come to our villa at 3:15 for us and our luggage. Good thing we set an alarm too, as the call was late. THEN, they never came!!! At 3:15 we ran back up and called- no answer. So we had to run dragging our bags (probably close to half a mile) to catch the van before it left. My fresh knee replacement didn’t appreciate that. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE!!!!! We filled out their survey, listing our issues in detail, and asked for a partial refund. All they said was they were sorry that we had a poor experience.
