Consistent
I've stayed at this hotel on many occasions. The service and rooms are very consistent with Marriott quality. An excellent location and a great choice for business events, trade shows and food service. Special recognition of the restaurants and bars.

Superhero Lisa at the Front Desk
We missed our evening Delta flight connection at ATL and closer Marriott properties were booked. When it was clear late in the evening on 2/15/25 that we would be spending the night in ATL, I booked two rooms at the Marquis for my wife and I and my 80-year old mother and father in law. On arrival for check-in, and despite having a reservation confirmation # in hand, we were told the hotel was sold out (there was a big cheerleading group on site). Undaunted, the front desk agent Lisa, did some investigating and found us two rooms for the evening. As our toiletry items were still in our checked luggage which we did not have, Lisa was also kind enough to give us complimentary bottles of water and toothpaste/brushes. She really deserves a kudos for her efforts.

Amazing and friendly staff
We were in town for the Cheer Sport competition and it was our first time so it was a little overwhelming at first however the team at the Marriott Marquis Atlanta made our stay such a wonderful experience. From the moment we walked into the hotel, we were greeted by concierge to direct us to check in. We did not know there was a specific location for the Cheer Sport to check in and a lady from the hotel who was part of the security team i believe and i should have taken her name as she saw us a little confused and she took the time to take us to the level to check in and shared with us a few things about the hotel. They had many people arriving at the same time we did, and for her to take the time to do what she did was so incredible, this was our first interaction and it made our day so much better after driving all the way from Virginia! We had a beautiful room with an amazing view and we were surprised by a lovely card and amenity that made us feel so special. My daughter could rave more about the cookies with the custom logo on it. We did not have much time to experience the other amenities of the hotel such as the pool, restaurants as we had so much going on with the event but the hotel is magnificent, so well maintained. You have a nice walk to a food court that is connected to the hotel if you are looking for something quick to eat and also a CVS which was super helpful for us. Hotel has valet only however the valet team is super organized and very efficient. you do not wait more than 10 minutes for your car which is so impressive with how busy they are. The heart of a hotel is the people and you definitely have rare gems there, please share my sincere thanks to everyone that has made our stay truly a magical experience. We hope to be back but this time for a more relaxing stay when we can enjoy the hotel a little more.

Great staff, dated rooms
I experienced great service at this hotel. Stayed here for a conference, the bar was fun and lively and the event space was great for the meetings; however, the rooms are pretty dated, I had to ask to switch rooms given the cleanliness of the first room, but otherwise a good stay.

Avoid this Marriott as it is not being managed well or maintained.
I was at a conference here for 3 nights in January 2025 and am a Titanium Elite Bonvoy guest so I have spent a fair amount of nights in Marriotts and this one was the worst one I have been in for a long time, perhaps ever. The welcoming desk attendant was friendly, and she let me know they were short staffed due to the snow a few days prior and housekeeping would not be servicing my room, which I find unacceptable. Though she said I could make the request and they would see if they had adequate staff, when I got up to my room I found it to be dark, dingy and absolutely filthy. I found stuck on toothpaste rings on the sink counter from the prior guest as well as other sticky cup rings on the desk and bedside table. There is absolutely no excuse for this. There was no luggage rack and nowhere to put one piece of luggage. I called for housekeeping to come clean the counters, but they told me they were too busy. Really?? No one came and by the next day, at 5 pm, still no one had cleaned my room. A few doors away, I saw a cleaning cart and asked the person if they could clean my room next. He was very kind and did that, yet he only cleaned the bathroom, I had to ask him to wipe down the counters in the bedroom and he didn't make the bed or anything else. He left the bathroom much cleaner but I had to ask. The next day it did get cleaned but very late in the day. The hotel is old and needs a complete overhaul and renovation. The staff around the conference seemed friendly enough. The conference catered food was fair, not that great. This is really one of the worst Marriotts I have ever been at and it really needs an upgrade and/or new management. It is shockingly bad.
