Impressive
A great start to a holiday tour. Very impressive interior with glass lifts and good views of the city. We arrived late evening and I just managed to buy something from the shop before it closed. The Sports Bar kindly supplied me with hot water and hot chocolate sachet as I couldn’t find anywhere providing hot drinks. Nice, big, comfy room, comfy bed and good shower. Breakfast was good, lots of choice. Any downsides? As others have mentioned, my card key didn’t work and It takes a while to get back to reception! A hook in the bathroom to hang things would have been nice. But overall, a good visit

Good but needs work
Overall this place served its purpose. However the key cards we were issued for room access and the elevators did not work well. Had to constantly move the card around the door lock until the light finally turned green. Same issue was experienced with the elevators. Unfortunately there were a very limited number of microwaves. Not every floor had one so you had to go up or down floors to find one. These should located on every floor for the convenience of guests. Our tub drained extremely slow which caused us to be standing in a couple inches of water by the time we finished with our shower. This was brought to the attention of the front desk staff and the cleaning crew but nothing to my knowledge was ever done to correct it. The refrigerators in the rooms are unsatisfactory. Not only are they small but they turn off after two hours which requires you to reset them regularly. Unfortunately we did not realize this until we went to get some food items out and it was warm. If you are wanting to use a luggage cart to haul your luggage to your room, forget it unless you are willing to pay someone to bring your luggage to your room. When I requested one I was told I could only use a cart if I used a valet. For the price you pay for a room at this hotel you would think you could get a simple cart without having to pay someone for it. Overall this is a fairly nice hotel. They just need to do more to make the guest more comfortable.

Unsanitary room conditions
I’ve been a loyal Marriott patron for many years, which made this stay especially disappointing. I was traveling for an important business conference and needed a clean, comfortable room to stay focused and prepared. Instead, I was met with unacceptable conditions that disrupted my entire trip. The room was filthy the moment I walked in. The floors were visibly dirty, and I even found used floss picks left behind — clear evidence that the room hadn’t been cleaned properly. Things got even worse when I discovered a cockroach in my bed, which was both alarming and completely unacceptable for any hotel, especially one under the Marriott brand. On top of my own experience, several coworkers attending the same conference reported similar insect issues in their rooms. Knowing this wasn’t an isolated incident made the situation even more concerning. The entire ordeal was so upsetting that it became impossible to stay focused during my company meeting. Instead of preparing for the work ahead, I was dealing with the stress and discomfort of an unsanitary room and worrying whether the issue extended beyond my space. As someone who has trusted Marriott for years, this stay fell far below the standard I’ve come to expect. I sincerely hope the property takes immediate action to address the serious cleanliness and pest issues. Until significant improvements are made, I cannot recommend this location to anyone — especially business travelers who rely on Marriott for consistency and professionalism.

Extremely terrible experience
I’ve stayed at Marriott properties for years and travel weekly for work, but this was by far the most unsafe and frustrating hotel experience I’ve ever had. Midway through my stay, I stepped on broken glass in my hotel room and severely cut my foot, with blood all over the floor. This happened after I’d already been in the room for several days, which makes it even more concerning. The immediate response from the hotel was slow and disorganized. I was put on hold while actively bleeding, waited for security, and had to walk through the broken glass to let them into the room. Security initially tried to hand me a Band-Aid and leave. Only after pushing did they inspect the room and find multiple pieces of glass still on the floor. Housekeeping didn’t arrive for another 20 minutes, cleaned the blood, and only vacuumed the glass after I specifically asked. I also spoke with hotel management immediately following the incident and was assured someone would be in touch to follow up. Despite those assurances, I never received any outreach from the hotel. What followed was even worse. My case was handled by Colette Deetlefs, who took over a week to respond and then suggested that I was responsible for bringing the glass into the room myself. After weeks of delayed or no responses, I contacted the Office of Consumer Affairs, who told me my only option was to continue dealing with Marriott’s claims department. When Colette did respond again, her tone was rude and passive-aggressive. I then escalated the issue to her manager, Ebony Johnson, who refused to accept any responsibility on Marriott’s part and maintained that I caused the incident or that responsibility couldn’t be determined. The lack of urgency, accountability, and basic concern for guest safety is appalling. I’ve never felt less valued—or less safe—staying at a hotel, and I would seriously caution anyone before assuming Marriott will stand behind their guests when something goes wrong.

Lots of issues
The experience started off fine. I am a titanium number and was upgraded to a bigger room. We were there for the Atlanta marketplace, so the hotel was very full. If you are going to fill your hotel, you need to have the staff to work it. Lines were very long at check-in. But the food situation at the restaurant was deplorable. The weight at both restaurants was over an hour and even when we were finally seated an hour and a half later, we were told that it would be another hour before food would be delivered. The first night it took us an hour and a half to get dinner at the bar and the second night we left and didn't even stay after we were told it would be another hour for food. also, the Wi-Fi in the rooms on the upper floors is horrible. This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel and the experience this time was less than stellar. The room was fine, but you do not have enough staff to help all of the people who are there. On the last night an alarm went off and after the alarm there was an announcement over the intercom in each room that repeated itself for upwards of 10 minutes. No explanation. It was around 1045 at night and woke everyone up. Marriott, you can do better.
