Lots of issues
The experience started off fine. I am a titanium number and was upgraded to a bigger room. We were there for the Atlanta marketplace, so the hotel was very full. If you are going to fill your hotel, you need to have the staff to work it. Lines were very long at check-in. But the food situation at the restaurant was deplorable. The weight at both restaurants was over an hour and even when we were finally seated an hour and a half later, we were told that it would be another hour before food would be delivered. The first night it took us an hour and a half to get dinner at the bar and the second night we left and didn't even stay after we were told it would be another hour for food. also, the Wi-Fi in the rooms on the upper floors is horrible. This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel and the experience this time was less than stellar. The room was fine, but you do not have enough staff to help all of the people who are there. On the last night an alarm went off and after the alarm there was an announcement over the intercom in each room that repeated itself for upwards of 10 minutes. No explanation. It was around 1045 at night and woke everyone up. Marriott, you can do better.

Kevin and Travis are the best!
Kevin and Travis were the absolute best. Amazing drinks, but even better company. I don’t even stay at this hotel when I’m in Atlanta, but I come to Pulse every single time just to see them. I only visit twice a year and they still remember my name and my drink without fail. If you’re looking for a great time and even better bartenders, this is the place. Shoutout to my new friends, Kevin and Travis! Whatever you’re paying them, you should double it!

Outstanding Stay Feeling Appreciated As Bonvoy Elite
I was surprisingly delighted by this behemoth property on a recent business trip. Having lived in Atlanta years ago I knew this is an old property but it definitely don’t feel its age. First of all, I rarely receive decent Titanium upgrades at US properties. I received app notification of an upgrade to an executive suite before checking. I guess having nearly 1,700 rooms helps with upgrade opportunities Checkin was handled by a delightful young lady who truly loved her job and made me feel welcomed and appreciated. Lounge was larger than most with a sparse offering of all day packaged snacks and plentiful beverages. My favorite was that this is the only Marriott with Coca-Cola products due to the Atlanta connection. Room was huge and had glorious floor to ceiling windows with a view I’ve rarely seen in a hotel room. The sweeping views of downtown Atlanta were outstanding! The only downside is that the bedroom was oddly designed in the interior of the suite with no windows and all drop ceiling. With views like this room had the bedroom should have been situated with a view. The separate bathroom was also small based on the size of the room with a vanity that was tiny with little room for personal toiletries. Overall I appreciated the large room and upgrade but the design was lacking. Here’s the part that really impressed me and showed that this property really appreciates their Bonvoy elite guests. Elite breakfast was served in its own restaurant, fully separated from the restaurant where non-elites ordered table service. The elite restaurant had two full buffets offering what can be described as typical breakfast buffet food along with an omelette station. I loved the way they executed elite breakfast and also realize with 1,700 rooms this might have been out of necessity but it was another way they made us feed special. Overall, it was the people and elite recognition that made this property a standout.

Drop the automated voice. Use a live person
No one answers the phone and the automated voice does not understand the word NO or YES...keeps saying it doesn't hear me. I have canceled my booking for another property. I don't have time for this AI nonsense

A bit dated...
The hotel could use a bit of an update, however, the staff will make sure your stay goes off without a hitch. In town for a conference, I found the Marquis to be close enough to all the action I'd want downtown without being right on top of things. I came the same weekend as the annual SEC conference game and the hotel didn't seem to have any trouble handling all the volume. The rooms were clean and of decent size. I had a small problem with my initial room but the staff quickly found me another (with a similar view). The gym is accessible 24/7, which worked out for me after late dinners made me feel I needed to work somethings off. I cannot speak for peak hours, but check-in was quick and easy for me in the later part of the evening. I did not have a car so won't comment on parking, but based on comments that might be something worth factoring into your decision. There is a subway (Marta) stop a block or two away.
