    The most stunning hotel ever!

    Just returned to the UK this evening after staying here for our honeymoon for 4 days after our wedding in Vegas, along with my brother and sister-in-law. We could not fault this hotel for anything. We were greeted by the concierge and reception staff who explained everything we needed to be aware of. The rooms were stunning, very comfortable bed. The cleanliness is exceptional too. We only had breakfast here, a voucher of $15 a day per room is allocated towards food/room amenities so worth using this otherwise is list - a good idea as San Francisco is extremely expensive.

    Great time at the corner of Jefferson and Hyde St.

    The room was huge and very clean. I have never been is such a cool hotel. The staff was always happy to help with anything we needed. My wife needed a spoon and bowl for her ice cream and the guy with the cool hat brought it up to her. The museum was very cool. The lounge area was nice to sit and relax before or after a meal at the Blue Mermaid. Over all it was an awesome experience.

    GREAT LOCATION! OLD BUT STYLISH DECOR!

    This hotel is really welcoming, it's like it cuddles you when you walk in out of the cold! The rooms were nice however they were a bit disappointing in terms of size and what is advertised. We were looking forward to the rooms themselves after looking at the website. We had a 'bay view' room, the window pointed to the sea but was so small & dirty you couldn't see much at all. No balcony and window hardly opened. Our son, travelling alone, had a 'courtyard' view room (smaller but with a way bigger bathroom than ours) ...well the courtyard was an old rooftop with a few old planters...made to 'look' like a courtyard, not a good view at all. Apart from that the rooms were gorgeous with comfy beds and huge TV's. Once again, no electric jug available but just a coffee machine (yuk). The rooms also had baths under the shower. I would stay here again but it was a tad pricey for what it actually was. You can buy the Star pillow in the room, but it'll knock you back US$50 (NZ$100)! Loved San Fransisco even though it was VERY cold, not what we were expecting but had heaps of fun!

    Disappointed in the view

    The nautical theme of the hotel is nicely done. The rooms were spacious and the housekeeping service was great. The location is close to many areas. The biggest disappointment was the false impression given for the Argonaut suite, which there are only 3 of. The website boasts panoramic views of the bay which is one reason we chose this hotel on the water. Unfortunately we were put on the second floor and our views were two buildings across the street. We asked about moving up but there was not an equivalent room available. So if you are looking for the water views and you pay for those rooms, be sure to ask for the 3rd or 4th floor. There were also a few lightbulbs out in the room and the shower whistled loudly. Those were very minor issues.

    Great place to stay!

    The location was awesome, blocks from Fisherman Warf. The rooms where cozy. Hotel restaurant had great food, I enjoyed the oysters on the half shell. Front desk crew was very courteous. My only complaint was parking on the high side at $85 plus tax.
