  Thank You Charles!

  Having stayed here previously, we were familiar with the fantastic location of this property. While the lobby is small and almost always crowded, the staff does a good job of moving things along in a quick, efficient manner. Though not huge in size, (this is Europe after all) the M Club is the star of this property, led by the ebullient Charles. Charles makes each and every guest feel at home, and being around his positive energy each day relieves some of the stress that travel involves. A million thanks, Charles! The M Club had been remodeled since our previous stay, but now much of the furniture seems impractical in the worst way, and, somehow, it feels like there is less seating than before. The redesign definitely focused more on form than function, which is not what this location needs! A number of the M Club lamps are so low that they create a safety hazard. In the future, it may be a good idea to have guest input when remodeling this M Club, because the designers seem to have failed to make the room function at its full potential. Also, know that this M Club is incredibly busy, so you will need to either be very patient, or arrive early for breakfast and evening snacks. It is worth noting that if you have nightly upgrade awards requested, Marriott is in control of those, not the hotel itself, which can be terribly frustrating for both guests and hotel management alike. Even if the property shows upgraded rooms for your dates of stay, chances are you will not get them (at least in our case). During our stay we had a small issue, and manager Peter was extremely helpful in assisting us. Overall, the hotel is clean, quiet, centrally located to many sites and public transportation options. The M Club is well stocked (though they did ran out of diet sodas on more than one occasion) and impeccably maintained (despite the poor furniture choices and placement). The Amsterdam Marriott will always be our first choice when staying in Amsterdam and we look forward to returning.

  Conveniently located for exploring Amsterdam

  I arrived quite early to the hotel due to my flight arriving much earlier than anticipated. I was pleasantly surprised to find that they had my room ready hours before check-in time which was great because I needed a nap! Room was clean, quiet and comfortable. My rate included breakfast in the restaurant each morning which was very good. Staff were all very friendly too. Conveniently located for exploring Amsterdam. There is a tram stop pretty much right outside the hotel. It is also within a short walk of the Rijksmuseum.

  Service that cares

  This was one of my better experiences in Europe. The location is ideal for experiencing Amsterdam with almost every key attraction within walking distance. The staff at this hotel were engaging, thoughtful, responsive, and extremely helpful. I made it to the hotel after waiting two hours for my bag at the airport that wouldn't get to Amsterdam for another two days. I arrived at the hotel exhausted and frustrated, but the staff was so supportive, supply essential that I need for the next 48 hrs while staying up to date on my luggage. Breakfast was an easy hassle free event that made me feel seen. One of the waitress, Hang, had my order memorized and greeted me every morning with a smile. As a black, masculine, lesbian from Alabama, travel experiences have been mixed for me. I've had hotel staff in other countries either ignoring me while I ate with coworkers, a feeling that I can't shake. However, this hotel was a small travel victory for me that will serve as a salve for those other wounds.

  Poor room quality

  Hotel nice but rooms no where near 5 star. Had issues with air conditioning, dog barking in room near us until 11pm, shower quality poor and cracked glass in room. Reception said they would look into issues but nothing as we only stayed for 3 nights. Wouldn’t use again as cost was £970.

  A lovely place to stay close to everything!

  This is our fourth stay at the Amsterdam Marriott. The customer service, cleanliness and accommodations are always above par. The location is perfect for all the favorite sites to see. Frans' greetings and helpfulness always was a warm welcome returning from a long day in the city. The MClub staff provided a lovely environment to enjoy a delicious breakfast and evening meal. We will happily return on our next visit.
