A Stellar 2-week Relax & Refresh Vacation
We spent a fabulous 2 weeks here May 17-31 and absolutely loved the resort, location, food, service, and overall vibe. Here are our thoughts by category and things to be aware of. • Know before you go - this resort is scheduled for renovations some time in the next 2-3 months. However, when it closes, if you have a reservation here, you are likely to be moved to Secrets Impressions Isla Mujeres, a brand new resort which is currently the most expensive of the entire AMR/Hyatt Inclusive brand. So don’t be afraid to book here and be moved to the Secrets Impressions down the road…you might end up in one of the nicest hotels right now! • Food – hands down, the best we’ve had of all the all-inclusives in the AMR/Hyatt Inclusive brands. There are two restaurants – one is Le Metissage that serves a different 7-course menu every day except Tuesday (closed) and the other is Casa Rolandi which has a 4-5 page menu of items you can choose from. Each one will customize your food for you if you want changes, swaps, etc from what’s on the menu. In addition to the lunch/dinner menu there, the breakfast menu is 2 full pages, and the poolside menu has a large variety as well. Even being there for two weeks (only one lunch off-property), we never tired of the food because there was so much to choose from and try. • Rooms – the rooms are clean with traditional Mexican touches but they do need a refresh – the couch and slider coverings were older (but comfortable), the under the sink bathroom area (which used to transform the bathroom into an entire steam room) had some rusting, the in-room bathrobes were older. But again, very clean and everything else made this Zoetry wonderful. Despite all that, this was a 5-star experience for us, but if a modern or updated room is really important to you, you might want to pass until the renovations are complete. • Veranda Room Category – we had one of the rooms that walked out directly onto a pool and we LOVED it. Our room 108 was on the south corner, too, so no one walked by our room. Despite being next to the pool, if we shut our slider, we couldn’t hear anything outside. We loved using our own bathroom when at the pool, sitting on our private terrace for lunch, or just cooling off in the room for a bit before getting back into the pool. We could see the Cancun horizon and view while laying in bed. We weren’t sure we’d love a Veranda room but 100% we would get one again. • Vibe/entertainment – Know before you go – this is not a party hotel, it is a quiet, read and chat with others by the pool vibe. There were a few slightly louder groups and while they were completely appropriate, I feel like they might have expected a more “party” atmosphere. The ONLY entertainment (aside from beach activities/yoga, etc) is live music in the evening in the two restaurants – a piano player/singer, a flute player and a saxophone player who all rotated. They were excellent musicians, btw, especially the flute player, but that’s probably not the vibe you want if you’re used to a big resort. • Kids – know before you go – Zoetry allows kids. There’s nothing for them to do, so they’re rare, but you will see them in the pools occasionally. We didn’t encounter any who were the “scream and splash” kind. Also you’ll see them in the restaurants too occasionally since both restaurants are open to the public. It wasn’t a concern for us at all, but be aware if you’re expecting an adults only experience. • Service – personalized, attentive, and friendly. I want to specifically call out our housekeeper Cecilia who found $240 we accidentally left under the bed cover and returned it to us, our pool/beach servers Jabbar and Alejandro, along with Ouleses, our breakfast server Saulo, our breakfast and Le Metissage server Andrade, the Cozy Bar bartender Hilario, and the numerous hostesses, waitstaff, and bussers who provided outstanding service the entire two weeks. I know I left some folks out • Beach – There is a private beach for the hotel; the swimming area isn’t the beautiful Caribbean blue and yes there is some sargassum but it was lovely to be able to swim in the ocean. • The Pool/Beach Chair Game – There are only 35 rooms in this hotel, and even when it was full for Memorial weekend, everyone had chair. If you can’t find one at one pool, just go to another or go to the beach. No need to reserve chairs at the crack of dawn. Also it’s so small you can just put your stuff down and hang out at the pool – you’ll only be 2 feet away from it. • Pools – there are actually three that the Veranda category rooms walk out onto – two that are regular pools and one that is a saltwater spa (but not heated). Pool loungers/padding and umbrellas are in need of a refresh, but worked fine. • Views – Expansive and beautiful views of the ocean and the Cancun shore in the distance – gorgeous from every room and every pool and every restaurant. • Spa – we had two different massage experiences at the Spa, and they were great. Note that it’s not a big spa where you hang out after a massage, but it does have plenty of spa services if you want one. • Workout facilities – small also, but I never had a problem hopping on the treadmill. One treadmill, one recumbent bike, and one elliptical, plus weights. We will definitely come back to this beautiful and special place!

Terrible experience so far
First of all, we had high hopes that we would have a wonderful time at this resort. check-in was quick, and they had the room decorated for our 10th wedding anniversary. Our first dinner at the resort was at the Italian restaurant. The service was incredibly slow. After ordering dinner, we never saw our waiter again...there were only about 4 other tables in there at the time we arrived, yet our dinner took a total of 2.5 hours. We then realized that when we requested pillows, that no one was at the front desk. When I went to shower, we realized that our shower had only 2 settings. Hot and scalding hot. There was no way (anyway we turned the handle) that cold water was coming out. They came to try to fix it but it still never came out cold, only luke warm. Room service is supposed to be 24 hours, yet when we went to order our first morning there, on the app said it was unavailable. DIRTY!! Our sheets, pillows, couch, and outdoor seats were filthy!

Closing down end of may for refurb
So this review is pretty pointless, unless you are going in MAY 2023. The hotel is set to close down for a 6 month refurb at the end of the month. Yes its old and tired, but we did not experience any of the problems with linen towels etc that other reviews mentioned, there were always towels by the pool. Food excellent Boat transfer/ airport pickup seamless, with only a five minute wait, we were the only people on the boat. So if you are going in the next few weeks all should be great for you. One thing I do hope changes after the refurb is the Job of Leo. Please fins him a more serious role Leo is one of the most nicest, friendliest and energetic people I have met, his official title I think is "wellness director", but it seems at the moment he runs a kids club for adults. Leo comes round in the morning with his wellness drink, which we took out of politeness, but it was always unpleasant. Then you could seem him putting cucumber and cold towels on the faces of guests, who quite frankly look as if these cucumber pieces are the closest any salad has been to their mouth in many years. Next up it was volley ball in pool ( not required. Don't do it at the refurbed hotel) where 4 guests would shout and whoop constantly disturbing everyone else. not sure if they where whooping every time they managed hit a small ball over the net, or if was a celebration of the fact they managed to lift their arms above mouth height for the first time in years. Cant wait to see the refurbed hotel

Amazing Staff and Incredible Location!!
We visited Zoetry Villa Rolandi to celebrate my mother's and my birthday. My husband informed the staff of this special occasion, and they made so many wonderful extra gestures from special decorations and champagne in our room to a dinner on the beach to helping him arrange some fun activities outside of the hotel!! All of the staff is so attentive and helpful, we are so appreciative of everything they did to make the stay a remarkable experience! A special thank you to Malena, Martin, Ivan for helping arrange all of the special details. A special thank you to Ulysses, Alejandro, Antonio for all of the wonderful service on the beach! Leo from the spa is always amazing; his enthusiasm is contagious! Rosa from Le Metissage restaurant was wonderful. We will not hesitate to return in the future and anticipate many more wonderful vacations at this location!!

No worth the price.
We went to Zoetrys in Isla Mujeres for a first time, just to get to know the place and find out if it was worth the price. I'll start with the good things about the place: personnel was great: Saul in "the restaurant", very kind and amazing person, Vanessa and Ana, both very helpful ladies and very polite at the front desk, Ulises in the pool area, serving the drinks, joyful and kind person. Zoetrys has two restaurants, however, you won't miss anything, since you can find almost everything you want in their menu: seafood, fish, pastas, meat, etc, and everything was amazing!, there is a second restaurant French and Mexican fusion??, I'm not sure, when we arrive we were told about the only two restaurants in the place and that you need reservations for the "french mexican" one, when we ask to make reservations they said: it's almost impossible to get reservations since you need to reserve way in advance (how do we know if nobody tells you in advance), anyway, we were put in a waiting list and the second day of our stay we got a spot at 8pm, we were happy since we had high expectations about the place, unfortunately we were wrong and we did not enjoy their eight courses dinner, first of all, it lasted 2 hours and between one plate an another very long waits, we run out of wine and nobody asked us if we wanted more, we called someone to get more, servers and personnel in general at the restaurant seem stress out and in a rush to finish quickly, we didn't feel comfortable since we felt like we were bothering them when we asked for wine refill or just asking a question, the food at that night wasn't good, I'll put it in this way" just regular food in smaller portion with garnish, I have to say that another guest told me that that night was disappointing but the night before was better, maybe we were not lucky in any aspect that nigh, who knows, since we didn't wat to repeat the experience again. The hotel itself is old and you can se that almost everywhere, the room, bathrooms, facilities, we got a good service, happy with that, however the hotel is not worth the very high price you pay (we paid $1,200 a night), unfortunately once you are there there nothing you can do, we just tried to get the best of the experience. The place needs some love, for sure! I wouldn't go back there paying that price, onc again, their employees are the best!, the place 1 star of 5.
