Exceeds expectations
Here on Memorial Day weekend. Pleasantly surprised. At first, was put off by the vacation club and time share side of the building. After that, you don’t really notice. For a hotel, the restaurants were really good. The Tiki hut and the 5 o’clock bar exceeded expectations. Roots was excellent. The service has been very friendly. The rooms are big and clean. It’s a bit dated but being concrete and tile, it’s fine. The bathrooms will need to be updated in a few years but still clean and good! Valet parking is worth it. Overall, exceeded expectations.

The nicest staff
The staff is so nice especially Patricia in the breakfast restaurant. Patricia was so friendly to us and remembered our coffee orders every morning. She made us feel so welcome. The rooms are clean and the outside area is stunning! The pools are great, love that there is a separate one for adults.

Much needed relaxation
This hotel was very nice and accommodating! While food and drink prices are a bit high it did not deter me from enjoying all the resort had to offer. The spa services were so relaxing and the various food options never disappointed especially the fish tacos at the Tiki hut! I would be remiss if I did not mention the spectacular service we received from Joann who served us at the Marbella restaurant. Joanne remembered us each day and ALWAYS greeted us with a warm smile and welcome! She went above and beyond each time we dined! The pool area was very well kept and the ocean and rainforest views were breathtaking. We throughly enjoyed our stay!

Overpriced Timeshare Nightmare
Spend a lot of money on mediocrity to then get hassled every day about attending a wonderful opportunity…a 2.5 hour high pressure timeshare meeting to get free breakfast buffets or pool cabanas! If you say NO then they take it upon themselves to call you every day you are there!!!

Outside areas are beautiful!
I stayed here for a weekend getaway. The pool areas are beautiful. I enjoyed sitting near the pool, reading a book. The Tiki Bar servers were great. The resort has a lot to do and is near the rainforest. A few not-so-great things. The in-room dining was just OK as the burger I ordered didn’t taste right and the fried chicken in my salad and the waffle fries was overcooked. The room seemed a little outdated and had no sound insulation. I heard my neighbor and the person above me every time they moved a chair and every conversation from folks who walked past my room. One of the bathroom lampshades had a lot of brown stuff on the edges and the bathroom mirror was damaged around the edges. Also, the concierge gave me incorrect information about the availability of taxis in the early mornings. The day before I departed, I asked about ordering a taxi or Uber for 5:00 a.m. the next morning. I was told that there were always taxis lined up outside. When I went to get a taxi after check out the next morning, there was only 1 taxi and he was off-duty. The bell person told me that while there is a lot of taxis, that normally doesn’t happen until 7. Luckily, the taxi driver who was there agreed to take me to the airport. Also, if you plan to stay here, you might want to rent a car because the taxi prices are ridiculous.
