    Great time

Absolutely awesome place. Staff was so accommodating after having a 2 day delay. Everyone was friendly, place was clean, villas were stunning with great housekeeping daily. Food was better than expectations for an all inclusive (breakfast being one of the best). They had events daily and night time entertainment. Definitely a great place to go with a big group with always options for food and activities. Hope to be back!

    Wonderful family friendly resort

My family and I had the most relaxing and enjoyable experience at this beautiful resort. My favourite things were; 1. Quick and swift check in. Much quicker than we are used to and welcomed with cold wet flannels and a quiet table with a pool view to enjoy while they did the paperwork. The guy who took our cases was so welcoming and friendly. 2. Each and every single employee at this resort was friendly and helpful. They each go out of their way. This is a huge plus for me and creates a lovely vibe at the resort. They are the biggest asset to this place. Management take note! I saw a couple of occasions where people were rude e.g. swearing under their breath when they had to wait more than 2 min at the bar and not putting the lid back down at the breakfast buffet, so nothing major but the staff dealt with these self entitled idiots quickly and discreetly. Thank you to each and every single person working there. 3. We had a 2 bedroom villa and whilst some have stated these are older and need modernising, I think that this is part of the rustic charm. Our pool had a small pool which was lovely and a nice unexpected surprise for us. 4. You are not bombarded with people trying to sell you anything or looking for tips. You really are left alone. 5. The sun loungers by the beach have a black flag you place upright when you need a drink or snacks. Also finding a sun lounger was not a problem, plenty to go round. 6. Our children are 9 and 7 and attended the kids club once only when they took the children horse riding. Mine absolutely loved the experience and Khadija does a great job keeping the kids happy and entertained. I recommend looking at the daily schedule as some activities only take place once a week like the horse riding and disco. 7. If you can't be bothered to go back to the rooms for a shower, there is one available in the restrooms by reception. There are separate towels, shampoo, shower gel etc. So you can wash properly right near the pool. I don't think most people knew about this lovely facility. 8. The food is absolutely delicious! 9. Ice cream is available most of the day which my children loved. A nice treat after all the swimming they did every day. 10. Evening entertainment is lovely. Thursday nights are the best in my opinion, which has the fire show. Ask to be seated on the beach for a good view. 11. All inclusive includes most watersports. The tube, banana boats, knee boarding and kayaking was so much fun! I recommend finding out all the details on your first day as some of it they won't tell you and it's not on the list of activities either. The minimum age for most of this is about 6 or 7 so younger children can take part, mine loved trying all the new activities. 12. I whole heartedly recommend the day trip with Louis if you have children. You book this directly from him or Tyler on the beach. You go out on a very smooth speed boat to the waterfall, mud baths, bat cave, snorkeling at a lovely location, delicious lunch etc. We don't normally do excursions but this was perfect for those aged about 7 and upwards. Take travel sickness tablets for the kids if they need it! 13. Overall a very clean and well maintained resort. Downsides; 1. Not being near your room can be a faff. If you leave anything behind it takes a while to go back. The shuttle service is quick and efficient but a round trip can still take time. Therefore you have to really plan your day to the main hotel building. However for us the view from the villa and having a villa to ourselves was worth it. 2. You have to book Upper Deck and Papa Dons as soon as possible. We didn't get to eat at either because we didn't know how popular it is. I wish we had been told this before. 3. Most of the time you have to queue for breakfast. So leave earlier if you can and enjoy the view of the Carribbean Sea while you wait. 4. You have to sign up for some water sports activities at different times e.g. some after breakfast, some at 3pm and you do them at different times. It's a few mins walk to the other end of the beach. So if you are doing 2 different activities, you end up walking up and down quite a few times. I wish the hotel would change this so you can sign up for activities closer to the beach. Also they didn't tell us about knee boarding when I asked what we can as part of the all inclusive. We found out from another guest and this was our favourite activity. 5. It's about a 90 min drive from the airport but we didn't mind as it goes through the rainforest and we enjoyed seeing some of this beautiful country.

    Beware of management!

I visited Windjammer in May after hearing from a few family friends who visited previously. Unfortunately my experience was traumatizing. The Managing Director, Nick, is a predator. He approached me and my partner separately during our stay at this resort and invited us back to his villa for drinks. Finally we decided to take him up on the offer as it seemed friendly at first, but when we got there it was clear he was looking for something more than just drinks and we declined and left. He offered to comp our stay if we hung out with him but we declined. Later during our stay we mentioned this to a few bartenders and staff on the beach and they let us know he's infamous for doing this to guests and he brags that he's friends with the head of HR so he's untouchable. The staff even let us know he's had people fired for whistle blowing! I'm trying to find out who the owner is to report this so that this doesnt happen to anyone else.

    Holiday of a lifetime

Our first visit to the Caribbean and what a choice of places to stay, there was nothing to fault in the ten day holiday. From the moment we arrived, where we were greeted with a welcoming drink and a damp flannel, very appreciated after a twelve hour plus journey, to check-out where a courtesy room was available to shower and change, we had the most amazing time. The staff were the friendliest I have ever encountered, and there were plenty of them, making it so difficult to name the number of individuals who gave us outrageously good service every day. We booked a one bedroom villa and were fairly near the bottom of the resort though our view was stunning – I think that all villas have a great view because of the way the resort is built. We had a sun terrace above our bedroom, accessed via an outside (exclusive) staircase. The resort is constructed on a widespread steep site and a fleet of minibuses is deployed to ferry guests to and from their villas. We took advantage of one such minibus to take us to the highest point on the development and the driver did us the courtesy of taking some photos of us – a view not to be missed. The resort is base around a bay that has a sandy beach and a breakwater that prevents waves from reaching the beach, very safe for children and non-swimmers. There are three hammocks in the sea which don’t suffer from overuse. The water is so clear that it is easy to see the numerous tropical fish without having to go in very deep. We booked all-inclusive and I would wholeheartedly recommend that to other travellers. The quality of food was outstanding with an excellent choice at our favourite restaurant being Upper Deck where we were treated to five star service. We booked some excursions through the on-site office and can recommend Kizzie and the team: 1. Rainforest Aerial Tram. A relaxing journey through the treetops in a tram in the style of an extended cablecar ride where we saw hummingbirds for the first time (after this we saw them regularly in the resort). 2. Rainforest Canopy Adventure. A high adrenaline zipline adventure, not at the same location as the Aerial Tram provided us with an afternoon which will live long in the memory. 3. Jammers Day Sail. In many respects the best trip of the holiday, on a catamaran trip filled with only guests from the resort, many of whom we formed holiday friendships with for many days afterwards. The boat took us to Soufriere where we went to hot spring mudbaths, a shower beneath a waterfall, and snorkelling. We watched shoals of flying fish leaping ahead of the boat although some didn’t make it back into the water as we were followed by a watchful black seabird. We also booked a couples massage at the on-site spa which we took on our first day, really setting us up for a relaxing holiday. One of the highlights of our holiday was when we came across two members of staff (Damian and Quain) gathering coconuts, one up the tree and one below, with the barrow. Without prompting Damian cut open a coconut with a machete, for us and let us drink the water, then proceeded to give us slithers of the fresh coconut to eat. Would we return? Started saving already!
