    Sadly not worth the hype.

    I had such high hopes for the Hard Rock and had previously stayed at Cabana Bay on five other occasions. I will start with the pros. Pool and Food amazing music was great, drinks, food all pluses wait staff amazing and pricing is affordable. Distance tot he park is perfect to come and go between down pours! The room service was great! Those funnel cake fries at the pool are something dreams are made of. Cons! Rooms were smaller than the cabana bay rooms and the walk to rooms from the elevator is crazy at least a mile a day walking to and from the elevators alone. Breakfast options are so costly you are better off paying the $29 for the buffet as every drink is $5. Stores need more hygiene items including hair products. The rock shop not opening until 12 is ridiculously late in the day. The check in process we got there at the wrong time took a while but that is to be expected. Check out was great. The velvet bar was a shocker great music but wow two drinks and not fancy were 38$ live music was great though. No pina colada mix seemed odd. Overall if you have teens or kids the cabana bay is where it is at for the cost and options for pool and lazy river. If it were just an adults trip Hard Rock would have been ok. The express passes were great maybe next time will try the other one across the street.

    Clean, good location by many problems with reservations and unwilling to solve themreservations

    We reserved one type of room they moved us even rey had say that all was set, they were unwilling to solve the booking problems, even we offered to pay extra. Manager tried to fix thing but the employees did not help.

    Great staff, Great hotel.

    Best place to stay at Universal Studios. The hotel has a great vibe. Plenty of things to do at night. Great restaurants, music, etc. The pool area is excellent. Dive-in movies & live music on the weekends. Great placenta relax after a long day at the parks.

    Hard Rock is amazing

    The most convenient place to stay to avoid the heavy traffic after a great day at the park is Hard Rock Hotel at Universal. WALKING distance from Universal Studios, many amenities that will make you want to stay at the hotel and superb customer service. Your room key becomes IT, you can charge everything to your room even in the park and also get FAST PASS. If you have kids, please do not hesitate, don't waste your time booking far away for a cheaper price that doesn't have Fast Pass included anyways, avoid the traffic and crying tired kids.

    Hard Rock, Hard Knock

    My husband and I had high hopes seeing this was a 4 star hotel. We reserved a deluxe king bedroom on a high floor. We checked in at 1pm knowing we probably couldn’t get into our room until 3 or 4 and around 5:15pm we finally were given a room in the basement. We are newlyweds so we were taking this vacation to relax and treat ourselves. We expected a nice walk in shower, a fully stocked bar and plush robes/slippers unfortunately none of that was available in the room. The staff also couldn’t be less excited to work here. The things to look forward too are the Velvet Bar, the pool (which is quite nice to sit by) and its only a 5 minute walk to Universal. I would love to know where the luxury hotels at for our next Universal visit. We have $$$ to spend!
