Lovely getaway at the Westin!
I can’t decide which was better - the location or the staff - they were both fantastic. The hotel has everything you might possibly want with a GORGEOUS soft sand beach, pool, gym, spa, stores, and access to amenities. The service is EXCELLENT and genuinely cheerful. We ate at three of the establishments on premises - several times - and were very pleased with the choices, flavors, presentation, and service. Oh, and let me not forget to mention awesome room service! The room was spacious, well laid out, and had a very nice balcony, a big bathroom, a VERY comfy bed, and top notch linens. Housekeeping was also excellent. We really enjoyed our stay; we hope to be back!

DISHONEST BUSINESS PRACTICE. STAY AWAY!
My family has traveled all over the world including many Caribbean islands. We’ve stayed at other Marriott hotels and have always been very happy. The Westin at Grand Cayman is by far the worst hotel I’ve ever been to. We had an island view room for $2,880 (taxes & resort fees included). I asked to upgrade our room to one with ocean view. I was quoted an additional $160/night for the upgrade. I asked if that was the government rate, and was told the manager would come and take care that. The staff even took a picture of the government ID. Then we’re told it’s an additional $75/night for resort fee. I’m already paying the resort fee with my original reservation. Why does the hotel get to charge double resort fee just because of an upgrade??? The total bill turned out to be $4,340! When we got to our room, there was no sitting area with sofa or table. When we asked the front desk, they told us ocean pool room views with two double beds do not come with sitting area. Our friends also upgraded to the same ocean pool view room, but their room has a sitting area. What liars! Apparently if you’re a Bonvoy credit card member that pays $650/yr in annual fees, you get treated like royalty; while other people get lied to and robbed blind on rates. I had originally asked for a partial ocean view, only to be told it’s only available for 3 nights then we’d have to switch rooms. Of course that’s a definite no. After we paid in full, I checked on the Marriott website and a none-government rate for ocean pool room for the exact days is only $3,698!!! Why would onsight prices cost so much more than booking through Marriott? They clearly took advantage here and gauged money from travelers. Super disappointed and frustrated and honestly quite enraged. I can’t believe Marriott allows this type of business practice. I WAS a loyal Marriott Bonvoy member. The key word is WAS! I actually contemplated getting the Amex Bonvoy card with $650 annual fee. After this incident, no way in hell I’d want to be “married” to such unethical business practice and model. The hotel itself is totally not up to Marriott standards. The furnishings are old, dingy, dated, and dirty. The food is super expensive and not great. I highly recommend eating anywhere but at The Westin. I really hope Marriott corporate will do better in training and cracking down on such bad practices before The Westin at Grand Cayman completely ruins their reputation. If you’re looking to get taken for a ride with very little to show/enjoy, then by all means, at your own peril. Otherwise, STAY AWAY!

STAY AWAY, if you want to be safe & keep hold of your items.
Worst experience of our life. My sons shoes got stolen from under his lounger on day 1, even though they were covered. The thief had been watching us. We travelled from the UK for a 7 day trip…at $750 a night. Apparently if you stay at Sunshine Suites, you can use all facilities at the Westin. The Westin unfortunately don’t tell you this on their website. Other guests informed us who had stolen the shoes. We made Westin management aware as well informing Jim Mauer (General Manager…..) Westin were not interested, so we went & retrieved my sons sliders. The abusive thief family were staying at Sunshine Suites but daily visited the Westin… Due to the abusive, threats & harassment we endured we had to call the police on 2 occasions. You will see from images, after the family had become intoxicated with alcohol they approach our Cabana with the father holding a belt. Other guests have sent us several videos of the incidents. Senior Management literally don’t care what happens to you or your experience as long as they get money. We moved hotels to be safe I wouldn’t even give this hotel a 1 star…

Edit: Overpriced and worth the fees
This trip was meant to celebrate my wife's 35th birthday, but unfortunately, our experience at The Westin Grand Cayman left much to be desired. Our initial excitement turned to disappointment when we discovered that our original Expedia receipt clearly stated a resort fee of 300 KYD (approximately $360.22 USD), but we were shockingly charged a significantly higher amount. This exorbitant fee of $375 per person, totaling an astonishing $750, was just the beginning of our frustrations. While we understood that activities were canceled due to weather, alternatives were not offered, leaving us with limited options. Moreover, the quality of the food was far from matching its overpriced cost. Adding to our disappointment, the beach chairs, essential for relaxation, were in dire need of replacement, highlighting a lack of attention to guest comfort. Housekeeping also let us down by frequently forgetting essential supplies like tissues, toilet paper, and towels. This oversight significantly affected our comfort during the stay. Despite my status as a first responder, both the hotel and Expedia seemed uninterested in honoring any sort of discount, even though I wouldn't have been so eager to seek one if the resort fee had been reasonable at $750 USD and if activities weren't being canceled, such as movie night and beach yoga. In a more positive light, the hotel's central location on the island was convenient, and the staff members were friendly and welcoming. The overall facilities had potential, but these bright spots were overshadowed by the shortcomings of our experience. Adding to our frustrations, we were hit with an unexpected $60 KYD per room charge during checkout, which further compounded our disappointment. Given our unfortunate experience, I regretfully cannot recommend returning to The Westin Grand Cayman. If you do choose to stay there, my advice is to explore dining options off the property. Also hotel management should instruct staff to be upfront with fees. For reference, I've attached some photos of the state of the beach chairs, which exemplify the disappointment we encountered during our stay. (Hope they go through Im at the airport

Poor Value for the Money
We stayed here May 12 - 20, 2023 in an Ocean Front room. The room had a great view but was small. The balcony was OK but had uncomfortable furniture (similar to the chairs on the beach). Every day the cleaning service forgot an item such as refilling body wash, emptying the trash, etc. We had to call every day because of something they forgot. We certainly did not receive the value for what we paid. This is not a a Marriott “first class” Or “second class” property.
