Perfect location. Efficient, friendly staff.
Had a wonderful time. The location was perfect, literally steps from nice restaurants, shops, and the beach. Our room was tidy and had a beautiful ocean view. The room needed a bit of paint but other than that we were more than satisfied. Staff was friendly and efficient. I plan on staying there next time. I would recommend this property to anyone.

40th anniversary trip through tour company Trafalgar
Very dated hotel. Several in our group found bed bugs in their rooms. The rooms needed serious updating. Breakfasts were just ok. You got your choice of 3 meals. Staff for the breakfasts were awesome. I would not recommend staying there other than it’s within walking distance to the zoo and beach. The mattresses were also horrible.

Standard room but a great location
We stayed at the Twin Fin April 2023. The hotel room is standard but came with many amenities. They provide towels to take with you to the beach. The beach (Waikiki) is right across the street. The particular area of the beach has a break wall so the water is calm. The hotel provides 3 free rentals from Beach Candy (paddle boards, surfboards, chairs, umbrellas, etc.) Tiki's is a bar on the 2nd floor by the pool area with outdoor seating overlooking the street/ocean.

Okay place, cheap if you don't care about how nice the rooms are
The staff was wonderful. The rooms had mold on the walls and looked to have been remodeled by applying new paint improperly. The towels were cheap. The patio door had been repaired by duct tape. Location was great as it was towards the end of the main street away from the popular part of Waikiki but still walking distance to all the shops. The area was very loud with people screaming all hours of the night and honking starting at 5am.

Not 4 star, economy rooms
We stayed at The Twin Fin Sunday-Friday but as soon as we opened the door the room & air felt "wet", like it had rained over the weekend & the glass sliding door had been left open. We immed. asked front desk for us to have a different room, Hailey was very nice apologized & directed us to see another standard room on the 12th floor. That room was actually the same condition but smaller so we declined & returned to our room on the 7th floor. We adjusted the air/heat control on the wall to either dry out or air out the room overnight. The room was a basic economy room, 2 double beds, tv etc. No table or chairs to sit, eat or read our maps etc at, only the bed surface. Small fridge had not been completely emptied, bathroom upgrade was obviously just a coat of white paint -could still see the rust and dingy caulk showing through. We were a family of 3 adults but there were only 2 bath towels & 2 wash cloths, you`d expect 4 and hand towels so we had to ask for them. There was 1 ceiling light above the door but in the room none other than 2 wall sconce lights above the bed so the room was always very dim. Do not believe the views shown on websites -maybe the suits get a good view but the view we got of "Diamond Head" was like the bottom part of it then 75% of the hotel next doors balconies -ours didnt even have chairs. The beds & pillows were very soft and comfy, not the latex foam type (thankfully). At 5 am my asthmas flared up cos of the bad air quality (we`ve stayed at other beachside hotels, Galveston TX, Jersey Shore NJ, Cancun MX & the room did not feel like this. Went back down to front desk (figured the rooms HVAC had been set to not allow us to change heat or air much) to ask for a dehumidifier or fan. Andrea apologized and said shed send up a osculating tower fan which we left on when we went out for the day. When we returned that afternoon the room felt so much fresher & actually dry! Later we asked Hee at the front desk about a better view of Diamondhead but they didn`t have any available (an extra $20 a day, oceanfront was $40 a day). This hotel has the 4 star rating maybe because it has a outdoor restaurant/bar, swimming pool, exercise room, proximity to other high end hotels/attractions/ Diamondhead. Other upgraded rooms im sure had more going for them but our standard room was like a economy room so if that`s what passes for a 4 star hotel we will NOT stay here when we visit Oahu again. The best it had going for it was the great young staff members, the beds and it being at the end of the main Kalakaua Ave that was within walking distance of everything/across from the beach & not noisy. There`s a nice seating area to chill-out at where the valet parking is and also a store. When we checked in there was that additional $48 per day fee to pay for this underwhelming room..
