Spend more, find something else
Booked through Costco and quite disappointing. Booked an ocean view and could hardly see it, unless we walked out of our room (1st floor at the back corner of the property next to the huge laundry room) toward the ocean and past the pool. Went to the office to see if we could be moved to a 2nd or 3rd floor; they were booked through the weekend. We arrived on the 18th and were able to move to the 3rd floor on the 22nd, so not all bad. Booking indicates a choice of "ocean view" or "ocean front". There certainly are NO rooms that would be considered ocean front. None, zip, zero, nada! The bathrooms are quite small, with very little counter space. Low water pressure from the shower. The "closet" is a hanging rod with a shelf above it to hang your clothes. There are no luggage racks to place your suitcase. No microwave in the rooms, only one in the dining area and only accessible during breakfast. Coffee is NOT available at breakfast; only provided in your room. Each time we entered either room, it had a musty, mildew smell that permeated the clothing in our suitcases. Had to launder everything when we returned home, including things we didn't even wear. There is no beach area at this hotel. Lava rock all along the beach, so you'll have to go somewhere else for any beach time. They do have beach chairs and umbrellas available, upon request. The Bull Shed restaurant was nice. Kinda pricey, but happy hour had some great drink offerings, but you'll have to order an appetizer or dinner to get happy hour drink prices. The staff was very friendly, but I would spend a few more bucks for something nicer. We won't be back and we won't recommend. Will be contacting Costco, as well, as this is not what's advertised on their website.

AVOID THE ISO
We had an "oceanview" room which had no view of the ocean and the staff refused to move us to another room. There is no housekeeping and the room smelled like the steakhouse downstairs 24/7. You can't swim in the ocean here and the beach is mostly rock. We booked through Costco and after providing photos of the lack of a view, we were given a small refund. The breakfast is very limited. I would recommend anyone visiting Kauai find a different place to stay.

ISO happy I stayed here...
found this place on SW airlines and with 27,000 bonus points, I said I will try it. I am happy I did. I normally stay at the Hilton, but this place was great. It is not fancy, but right on the beach and close to restaurants and stores. it is a walk, but really doable. We enjoyed our stay. It was quiet, except for the waves. We would absolutely go back. Staff were great.

Disappointing
I am furious when I see the photos of this hotel. The photos are not true to the quality of the hotel. It is a dump. Not worth the money. Spend a little more and go to some place nice. There are very nice hotels to the north of this one. There are many other poor reviews of this hotel that detail its issues. Believe them. It is dirty and old and it has no modern conveniences. There is no lobby. It is basically a card table set up in a room. In there is the most modern thing they have and that is a new ice maker. The only one in the whole place. We left within about an hour of being there and were lucky enough to find a much nicer hotel about a mile north of this one. I do not have any photos because there was nothing nice about the hotel.

Decent place to stay, however slightly overpriced.
The room set up was fantastic you're able to listen to the waves without worrying about bugs coming into your room, the pool and yoga was great as well and it's fantastic location, it's right in front of the beach. The breakfast option was lacking, they provide you with snack bars and packed muffins rather than proper breakfast. The shower has a weird way of activating and also bathtub plug didn't work as expected.
