    Fabulous Friends Vacation

There was a group of 14 of us at this resort some for 10 days and some for 2 weeks. We all had a fabulous time. The staff were very friendly and accommodating for anything you asked for. The bedroom was huge as well as the bathroom. Some of the furniture needed replacing but the maid kept the room spotless and came in everyday. It was my husband's and I 50th Anniversary trip and were we greeted with a banner on our room door. The next day we received a bottle of rum and cheesecake and strawberries. The Alcarte restaurants were not all open usually only a couple at a time. We tried the Asian...was ok didn't like eggs noodles in my Pad Tai. The Austrilian grill....the beef medallion was tough and couldn't cut it The Italian restaurant the chicken parm had two thin pieces of chicken slapped together with a piece of eggplant in between. Very little cheese and tomato sauce. The buffet was the best that I every had. The food changed daily but still kept the staples. The omelets and rice pudding were the best. There is three pools but we only used the main pool with swim up bar. This is a great walk in pool that only goes to chest deep. The swim up bar is great and the bartenders can make just about any drink you want. The pool deck is big all around the pool with lots of loungers and umbrellas. Due to mobility issues I did not get down to the beach but the others did and said it was beautiful. There was alot of vendors on the beach and several of my group bought things from the, Beach bags ,hats, shirts, towels swimsuit cover ups and cigars. The resort is small but has everything a large resort has and is absolutely beautiful. We will be returning again.

    Enjoyable Visit

Overall, I had an enjoyable time at Sunscape. We stayed in a Sunclub Junior Suite, which was very large and comfortable. A few things that I didn’t like were the strange layout of the closet, bar went from front to back instead of side to side, and the pillows were not good for me. We were in building 14, ground level. I am self employed so do rely on decent wifi, and for me, that did not exist. I could get it on one side of the lobby, in the buffet area close to the lobby, and once in awhile at the back of the theatre. Absolutely nothing in my room or anywhere else. Although I always found something good to eat, I did find the buffet food selection limited and the buffet design poorly laid out. The dining area itself was large, clean and attractive. For the most part, the servers were pleasant and helpful. Shout out to the awesome hostess Lorena! The a la carte restaurants and pizza place are all up a long flight of stairs, and there are no washrooms up there. The resort really needs an elevator for those with physical disabilities. The food at the specialty restaurants was satisfactory, but not very good. Worth a visit though. Pizza was great. I went with a group of friends, and other than the small lobby, there really was no place to sit together in the evenings, unless you went to the theatre. The beach is great. Beach bar service fast and friendly. I ordered a cake for a friend’s birthday and it was large and delicious. Had it served at an a la carte. What we didn’t eat, we left for the staff. The grounds are lovely and mature as it is an older property. It is now owned by Hyatt, so we shall see if any changes are to come. I would consider returning, as really any negative was not a dealbreaker for me. Hopefully they improve on the wifi. Everyone looked like they were having a great time, and certainly we had fun as a group.

Awesome, fun resort and awesome staff!!

I spent four fabulous nights at Sunscape for my friend's wedding. The layout and design of the resort is perfect, with three pools (one of which has a great swim-up bar), and a walk down to the beach, where there's a little bar that turns into a happening dance floor at night! The main restaurant, Windows, has a huge selection of buffet-style breakfast, lunch and dinner featuring international selections and local Dominican food. From the front desk, to the restaurant, to the beach bar -- oh, and including the little coffee shop, Coco Cafe -- the staff was amazing -- friendly, courteous, always helpful. They truly made the stay even more awesome. Lorena and Jonathan at the front desk were super helpful (others too though I didn't get their names). The rooms were well appointed and comfortable as well. We had an amazing time, and I can't wait to come back again!! Thank you so much, Sunscape!!! Hasta la proxima! :) :) :)

    Nice small resort

Great small hotel for the price, we were I’m adults sun club. Check in was very fast, staff were very helpful and friendly throughout resort. The selection and variety in buffet was adequate, it changed throughout the week. The alacart restaurants were good, we always ate when they first opened, there was very little wait time. The beach is beautiful, they worked hard to keep it clean. Bed was comfortable, room kept clean. Our only complaints would be that the internet was not very fast or reliable and the pools were a bit chilly.
