Issue with our stay
As a positive the staff is extremely friendly, and the parking is free. Our room was nicely sized, and the the set was good. The air from the ventilation unit does not blow directly on you which is a plus as well. The biggest issue was that we did not look at the shower until we were ready to shower and check out. There was black mold along the inside base of the shower . This should have been noticed by housekeeping and corrected before guests would be assigned to this room. We reported this at check out .
This hotel is awesome!
This place rocks. First place I ever got a care package at 1 am when I arrived from airport with water and a few sweets. Wow. Super nice staff! Lori, Cerenthia, Chris, Vincent and Malik are all amazing at the front desk. Christina and Tracy are great managers! Folks like Dawn and Shavaria also make a big difference! Rooms are clean, things like towels are easy. And there's a huge regional park connected to the hotel! Only 500 yards away, featuring walking trails and a really nice skatepark! Check out historic Roser Park neighborhood too! There's even a nice free bar in the lobby! Free draft beer and tacos at night! Breakfast in the am.
So much to say…. So little time….
This hotel is a 1 star facility, however, it is ALSO a 5 star costumer service experience!!!! Where to start….. my bank has a $500 cap on it so anything ($500.01) will be denied no questions asked. Well, my family ( husband, mother in law (MIL), 15 and 13 year old sons) and I planned a visit to enchant (FABULOUS) in St. Petersburg Fl from Ga. I was checking my account on the way down and saw the denial charge, but since it was before my bank opened I called Staybridge and spoke with a wonderful lady named Lori at the front desk, I assured her that I would have the issue resolved by the time we got there. Not a problem! As soon as I went inside to check in Lori immediately knew who I was and that was nice. My mother was driving in from her place in Fl and had not made it yet, so I asked Lori if I could leave her parking pass and key there for when she got in, again not a problem. It is a very small hotel compared to what we are used to. The room had two beds in a room with a bathroom and a separate living room with a pullout bed and kitchen area. The kitchen had a full sized fridge, 2 induction burners (more on that later…) a 12cup coffee pot (great for my mother and I, we love love love our coffee) sink dish washer and a bar type table that was a wonderful catch all. The front lobby was decked out with Christmas. Fake trees and the cutest little stockings hanging over the fake fire place with the staffs names on them. The room was…. Okay. This hotel needs a remodel and I’m sure it’s not just room 323, that is the room we packed 2 special needs kids, my mother and MIL, along with my husband and myself… 2 people per bed works well. So we are figuring out what to do and we went out. When you are going to this hotel you do need to be in the far right lane, however, there is more than one entrance in so if you miss the right turn off the highway, just hang a right at the light and go in that way. It is close to shopping and food. If you don’t wanna drive the walk isn’t too bad. It is super close to an amazing burger place where the people are kind and schocolate an amazing chocolate making place. We went out to dinner later that evening, and my poor husband drew the short straw… they could NOT get his steak to medium well, so I told them to just season a raw one and I would cook it at the hotel, after all it has 2 induction burners. Get back with my husbands raw steak….. start looking in the cabinets for a frying pan…. Found a pot (for spaghetti) no frying pan…. So I go down stairs and there is Cerenthia (Cyrenthia, just because most people don’t listen doesn’t make it fact for all, I got you girl!) I told her what happened at dinner and the predicament I was in. She sent up a frying pan, I had no butter to make his steak in but we stopped by Publix earlier and picked up some bacon. So I used that, the induction burners worked well for a few minutes then stopped…. I was thoroughly annoyed but I managed and finished it in the microwave…. Well, later that evening our 13 yr old had to go #2…. And his is abnormally large… well it stopped up the toilet at 10:30, I didn’t want to deal with that so I asked my husband to call down. The front desk worker named Nikita ( I do l hope I spelt that right) told him that she was the only one on duty and could not walk away from the desk……🙄. So I went down and in all the hotels we have stayed at throughout the years 10:30 is usually pretty quiet, not that night! Nikita was dealing with a family trying to check in but was having issues with the form of payment they were using… so wait I did, I watched her deal with that and the phone constantly ringing… she was doing the best she could with what she had to work with so when it was my turn I told her that I wanted the number to whatever manager was supposed to be there. She came back with Christinas number. Christina answered the phone and said that Nikita would be up to fix it as soon as she could. I also let Christina know the issues we had had up till that point. Well, dealing with my family when there is only 1 toilet and it doesn’t work… I dealt with them for about 30 minutes before I went back down and told her that I wasn’t going back into my room till she came with me! She pulled out some bedding that she needed to take to the 5th floor, and put up a sign saying she’d be back… It occurred to me later that she had a sign saying she’d be back but “couldn’t” leave the front desk unattended🤔… whatever… she came and fixed the toilet!!!! The next morning my MIL realized she forgot her hairspray… back down to the lobby I went. They have a little pantry area with frozen meals, booze, soda, eye drops and some other things. So I needed to talk to the GM Bryan, anyway, about what happened and how wonderful the staff were at resolving our issues. Well, a very kind woman named Dawn in housekeeping gave me directions to a family dollar or dollar general whatever, she showed me exactly where to go! And her directions were spot on! It was within walking distance so walk I did. Found exactly what I was looking for and walked back. The breakfast was…. Okay. They had sausages, biscuits, cheese “omelets” (ewe, I don’t like American cheese, I wish they would do at least some without cheese, but I’m sure they come in frozen.) cereal, waffles an entire yogurt bar with plain or strawberry yogurt, grapes, blueberries and granola. Christmas morning comes, I’ve got a pack of bacon in the fridge and no way to cook it… so I go back downstairs, a nice gentleman named Vincent was at the desk he was kind enough to bring me to chef Eric, I asked if he could/would mind frying it up for me, or I would even make it myself if he would allow me to. Turned out this hotel does serve bacon on there breakfasts occasionally!!! Eric was making bacon for Christmas breakfast!! Check out was a breeze, Bryan was on duty again! I left some Christmas tips for all the wonderful ladies that helped me throughout our trip. This hotel is short staffed and you can walk to Tropicana field from there. They do have an area for (induction) grilling and smoking next to the pool, it was too cold for us to use that lol. But all in all if my MIL doesn’t come I would totally stay there again!
Norway! Ie a place to stay when you want to feel like your home.
The service was top notch . From the food, to the hotels employee's. Amazing experience. Special thanks to Kristen Norley! They treated myself and crew like we were family. Great parking and pool was fun to hangout and grill food.
Dirty, sketchy location & BED BUGS
Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights with my mother and 2 young children as we were going to the Enchant Christmas event at Tropicana Field. About the only good thing I can say about this hotel is that it was directly across the street from the venue so it only took 2 minutes to drive there. Aside from that the location is quite sketchy. There were NON-hotel guests constantly hanging out in the parking lot, helping themselves to the free breakfast in the lobby, smoking weed outside, etc. The hotel is located directly off the highway exit so you have to cut across multiple lanes of oncoming traffic to get into the parking lot. Parking spots are TINY so you can’t even get into your own car if someone parks next to you. The free breakfast was mediocre at best with rubber eggs & sausage. But worst of all was the room. There was mold on the ceiling around the air vents. Pieces of the carpet ripped. The couch was absolutely filthy to the point that I didn’t even feel comfortable sitting on it. There were layers of visible dust on nearly everything. My kids were afraid to get in the bath because of the mold near the drain. And to top it all off we have now come home with bed bugs! Having experienced bed bugs over 15 years ago, I know just about everything there is to know about them and have always prided myself on choosing hotels that have absolutely no bed bug reviews or history as it was not something I ever wanted to experience again. Well, apparently this hotel’s reviews are all lies because my 7 year old is completely covered with bites and still getting new ones at home and we now we have to incur the costs and damage not to mention stress that comes with all of this thanks to this awful hotel. Avoid this place at all costs!
