    Very Noisy Stay

The best thing about this hotel is the parking in the parking garage. You will pay for it, but it is secure. The hotel had four tour buses of teenagers and families dropped off and things became chaotic. Lots of people running up and down the halls through the night. I love Staybridge as a brand, but these are the smallest rooms I have seen. No IHG recognition. Very difficult to get to third floor with all the people running around the place and using the elevators. A long walk to Disneyland. This is my second stay at this hotel, and my first stay they knocked on my door at 9:00am to see if I was leaving. I had a please don't disturb sign. This time the same thing happened at 9:02am so could almost set my watch to it. Please don't disturb people with do not disturb signs until checkout. They had a social with hot dogs but was not interested. The young lady at the counter was nice and trying but was new, and the rest of the staff was not very friendly. Room had some damaged furniture. The only reason this hotel can get away with what it does is because it is close to Disneyland. If you love Staybridge Suites as a brand, I think you will be disappointed in this hotel.

Good Location for Visiting Disneyland and Comfortable Accommodations

We had a one bedroom suite with 2 queen beds and a kitchen. Comfortable beds. Clean room. One downside is that the bathroom and sink are in the bedroom which makes things challenging when some of your group are sleeping and others are awake. Staff: front desk and housekeeping were wonderful. We needed maintenance because the safe had been left locked by a prior guest - the maintenance person was at our suite within minutes of my call and was kind and courteous. The breakfast was decent - hot options available. The staff here were the only letdown - not friendly at all and didn’t clean the tables between patrons. Both days we cleaned our own table. There is a small outdoor pool which we didn’t use. Covered unsecured parking was fine and we never had trouble finding a convenient spot. The hotel is a good location for Disney - it was about a 10 minute or so walk to the Disney parking structure. There you go through security and get on one of the shuttles to Disneyland. The shuttles arrive constantly so there is very little wait time. We would recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

    Not ADA friendly!

Front desk and management tried to charge pet fee for medical alert service animal and demanded papers/certification for animal, this is against the law. There were unhoused individuals sleeping in the parking garage next to the cars, which we had to pay $25 a night to park. There are only two handicapped parking spots for the hotel, in the front, which doesn’t help when your room as on the other end. And lastly, we came down to the lower level of the parking garage to take the dog out for a restroom break, because despite it being a “pet friendly hotel” there are no relief areas. We found a party going on in the garage with loud music and marijuana smoking.

Wrinkles, big and small; to ART or not to ART?

Not recognize elite status This was the first time an IHG hotel did not recognize my elite status. No acknowledgment. And no welcome points were mentioned*. When I inquired about the possibility of a room upgrade, the front desk staff did not say nothing was able. Instead, she said the room we booked was already an upgrade. She is incorrect because a room on the reservation is just that. It is not an upgrade. Broken/worn out things - Old and worn fitted sheet for the sofa bed mattress. If they do not want to replace it, I rather they remove it. It does not even fit. Glad I did not use it, because in the morning, I then realized it had a big, light, yellow stint! - One of the bowls' edge was chipped, a brush had a worn handle, a leg rest had a dime size hole. - They just make the room's overall appeal diminished. Poor design/arrangement! - When laying down on the sofa bed, my feet could touch the dresser! There was no space between the sofa bed and the dresser, so could not walk to the other side of the sofa bed. Noise - The walls were thin. We could hear people open/closing doors. The fridge was noisy at times too. Strange. Someone next door was hitting some metal for about 10-15, and it was bed time! Alarm flash light - There was an alarm light in the ceiling. It kept flashing once every 10 secs or so. Sofa bed - Soft and thin mattress with different black dots on it sat on a weak frame. It made crackly noise when I turned. As mentioned my feet could touch the dresser! And the stint on the fitted sheet! All these plus the noise made it an unpleasant experience! Breakfast - Just ok. Cold hard boiled eggs (peeled), scrambled eggs, pre-made omelette, sausages, fried potatoes, 3 types of cereals, hot oak meals, waffle station, 3 types of muffins, Chobani yogurt, Pearl soy milk. The clock in the breakfast area had been wrong for sometime. It was faster than the real clock. The staff base on the correct time to start and end breakfast. - The waffle machines (2 of them) were the most popular. - Breakfast staff were attentive. Trams at Mickey and Friend's Parking - The hotel provided print instructions to walk to the M&F Parking to take the tram. On Ball Rd, walk across the street to Disneyland Dr (paved) and walk S on Disneyland Drive, and then cross the street at Magic Way. After we crossed, we were wondering where the tram was. We asked someone. He pointed out we needed to walk all the way inside the parking structure toward the NW direction. It is like walking in an U shape but starting at the opposite end of the U. We decided to continue walking to the Downtown Disney. We made the right choice, because the entrance where security were is just a few mins more walk away. Another few mins walk, we arrived at the shops/restaurants area. By the way, plastic water bottles are fine, but no glass bottles when going through security. ART bus - We did consider taking the ART bus, but it came by once 25 mins. According to reviews, tickets could not be split among different people. Therefore we did not use it. - If they really want people to take public transportation they should make it more frequent like 10/15 mins, make the tickets (passes available on board or install some ticket machines in each stops like the Deuce bus in Las Vegas). - The lack of PDF maps made it inconvenience as well. - Also, I was told we needed to be online all the time to use the digital passes/tickets! - The online support runs late at night. This is a plus for those who need live support. Ask for possible early check in and late check out - With regular check in at 4p and check out at 11a, highly recommend you ask for earlier check in and late check out. We were able to get both. Credit card authorization - They put a hold of USD250 upon check-in. If there is any incidentals they will deduct it from the $250 and return the rest to you when you check out. It will not be right away. Lack of communication among staff? - On the day when we checked out there was a maid knocked on the door and said something in Spanish. We did not understand. Later she came back with her colleague who asked us if we needed service in English. We planned to check out on that day so the answer was no. Service/no service needed tag? - Some rooms have a magnet for please do not distribute. But do not have another magnetic for service is required. Some rooms have the traditional paper tag. Pool - Heated. Parking - $25 per night. There are both covered parking and open air parking spaces. Check-out - It was unusual during check out, then I was greeted with an acknowledgement of my elite status. * Though not mentioned by the staff, turned out I received an email about the welcome points. I have not checked my IHG account to confirm.

Be Prepared to Check Out Early

Overall liked the location of the hotel. The parking seemed adequate and the nightly snacks in the evening was great. My biggest complaint was my key stopped working at 10am so I found I could not use the elevator to check out and load car. Check out is 11am but be prepared to have your card stop working early, and you will need it to get to the parking structure and use the elevator. Maid starting knocking on door at 10:30 and I had to say checkout is 11am. This was frustrating, especially since 11am is already a pretty early checkout as I was at Disneyland late. If you are somebody that gets out early then you probably won't be bothered. For me, I was trapped as the elevator did not work, and even the stairway would not open to the front lobby, so I had to find an exit door to the outside, then walk around the hotel. This is not a good policy. Staff not very friendly, no IHG recognition.
