Easy check in
First of all our first impression of the resort was amazing and micha at the front desk was so calm and so friendly when he checked us in and couldn’t find our reservation. He handled it with care and assured us that he will get to the bottom of it. With in 5 mins he got the managers to look it over quick. I am very great full for his professionalism and every one that took care of us here. I would give micha 10 stars if I can

Absolutely dreamy
Had a splendid stay, the view was gorgeous and the staff was very friendly. Micah helped us book a last minute room and did his best to get us something nice and on the spot. He was a real lifesaver.

30 anniversary
Had an excellent trip. Lisa was super friendly and engaged as the activity organizer. Had a lot of recommendations for food and activities. Johnny in the bar had a cool attitude. Hung out on the beach side of the pool. Great visit will be back again! Mahalo and Aloha Kauai Sheraton

4.5 stars, rounded up
We were a bit hesitant based on some of the reviews, but we had a really good 3 night stay at the Sheraton Kauai Coconut Beach Resort. It's a moderately sized resort, but not massive or sprawling - which made getting from the car to the room or the room to the pool area quick and easy. The resort appears to have been updated a few years ago and the rooms were still fairly modern/fresh. We were on the 4th floor and the rooms there have vaulted/cathedral ceilings and that made a difference. The lanais are EXTREMELY small and only big enough for two chairs and that was even tight. I think the rooms and some of the common areas could use a bit more of a deep cleaning but the main surfaces, etc. were all clean and just fine. We had a maintenance issue with the electronic door lock and it was handled within minutes as was a request for corkscrew. We liked the pool area and beach front. The hot tub was a popular place (it was a little cool and rainy for a couple of the days) and it was HOT. The beach isn't necessarily a great swimming area, but it may have been because the waves were a bit rough when were there. The beach areas adjacent to the hotel (walking along the trail were nice with drift wood and smooth sand. We liked the easy walking distance to the marketplace shopping area/restaurants and the Long's Drug store across the parking lot. Easy drive or walk into Kapaa for more restaurants, Safeway, etc. Bikes were available, but we didn't partake during the short visit. They have a good list of activities that were available with the resort fee. We enjoyed the shaved ice at the pool (really pretty good - went back for seconds!) As Bonvoy Titanium, we elected the breakfast amenity and received the full breakfast buffet or option for ala carte menu choices - this is above and beyond other resorts in Hawaii that we've stayed at recently which just offer continental. The breakfast was really good. Shout out to Charlie, the omelet chef, who was super friendly and made a really good everything omelet. I knocked off a half of a star because I thought more could be done with deep cleaning and the small lanais. But, we will definitely consider staying here again for all the other conveniences.

Lei-Making (Specifically)
Absolutely amazing lei making experience with Kaluna! Even though she was just closing, she took the time to teach us how to make leis and learn about some Hawaiian history. Her kindness and hospitality really capped off a very memorable trip. We were able to weave in all of our hopes and wishes for the new year ahead. If you are coming to this location, please take the time to learn this amazing art and enjoy a wonderful conversation with Kaluna.
