Fantastic
We travelled for over 35 years to the Caribbean, never wrote a review , this hotel deserves recognition, pros : easy checkin with Enrique , no bracelets , no limit on towels , very good quality foods in restos , hotel grounds and rooms and all cafes and restos nicely designed , pools are good , wifi is fantastic, people are very friendly, Felix you have a great smile and always ready to go out of your way for us at the buffet resto thank you , pool side service , sunyaka (tequila girl ) always smiling always around to serve you , scarlet at the seaside grill was amazing, made a killer sangria, Maria at bar near the beach made excellent martinis , and Raymond at checkin or checkout was very helpful, many more encounters with great staff unfortunately can’t name them all , now the cons : I only had 2 , and I shouldn’t even talk about them , but just to give you an idea , 1 day missing towels for the room , called operator , and got them very rapidly , 2 times missing pods for the coffee machine , again called the operator, and we got them in no time , plus on all occasions they called us back to make sure all was ok , would I come back here ? , in a heart beat , it was great , hope this helps your decision!!!!!

Amazing resort
Secrets Tides is a fabulous resort. This resort is definitely top 3 of the Secrets resorts I have visited. Secrets Tides entertainment team is so much fun, especially Sander, Jason and Antonio. The service at Oceania for breakfast is amazing. The preferred lounges were very nice. I do wish they had more board games. Our butler was Ray. He was so good. He responded so quickly to everything we needed. The preferred check in process was quick and easy. By far the best I’ve experience. The beach was great, we didn’t have any issues finding chairs and towels. Richard, the Preferred Beach bartender was great and loved his singing while he brought us beverages. As with other DR resorts you do have to deal with the vendors on the beach. Service at the restaurant was good, shout out to Yenell (Seaside Grill), Confessor (Portfino) and Felix (El Patio). They were so friendly and provided great service. The only minor challenge was Market Cafe for breakfast. The omelet stations overcooked every order, I suspect that the heat was up too high. This was my first visit but my family and I will be back. Rooms were spacious and with lots of suitcase storage.

Gorgeous resort - ruined by Corporate Events disrupting the experience.
Stunning resort with the best staff you'll EVER find at any resort. What a shame too as they are catering to the corporate event industry in a very big way. It was basically a glorified convention centre. Our extremely expensive, Preferred Club, Ocean Front trip was ruined by the obnoxious corporate events going on. Deafening noise, music, restaurant, beach and pool closure to cater to these groups. As any guest, as well as preferred, you were entirely not considered. Very clearly chasing the money. Hiding in our suite trying to escape the nightmare of noise on the beach was not what we paid a ton of money for. Truly a shame as the resort is one of the most beautiful you'll see, and the staff! We felt so sorry for them. They were outstanding. For sure the biggest redeeming quality of this location. Beach was gorgeous as were the pools. Unfortunately, the Preferred Pool ending up being the busiest and loudest due to the Travel Clubs (who were not actual Preferred Guests) were also allowed in the Preferred Pool. As preferred guests ourselves, we had to go to the other points, and forfeit the ocean view we had paid for.

What to expect
Overall we had a good experience. We did not like that they would block off areas getting to a restaurant or main lobby for special events. This would force us to walk around their event in the rain. Oceana We also loved Oceana which is a preferred restaurant but open to everyone at night. This is the only ocean view restaurant. El Patio Mexican was not at all like any Mexican food I have ever eaten 9 not good at all). The service was great. Horrible margaritas! Teppanyaki table We were not impressed with the Hibachi at Meraki. You must make a reservation! The food was OK but very bland and the show they put on was very loud and suited for children ( this resort is adult only). Meraki The tuna sashimi appetizer was very good. But we never received our main course and left. They were hosting an event and no one in the restaurant had revived their main course. Poor management. Barefoot grill They had horrible service and I ordered a grilled bun that was never grilled. The burger was dry but the French fries were good. Tierra No a fan of the food Portofino Italian This was our favorite restaurant. The food and service was great. Market cafe buffet was good. We could always find something we liked. Coco cafe This cafe is open 24/7. We loved their ice cream. They also have sandwiches and wraps. And all sorts of sweets. Excursions Free shopping shuttle Please do not waste your time. It is a high dollar tourist trap. Salto El Limón tour This tour was purchased through the Hotel by Ricardo. We enjoyed this tour minus all the buses they make you keep transferring to and returning late. We then took a boat to the area and caught another bus. You arrive at the waterfall where you have the option to ride a horse or walk. Keep in mind you will have an individual tour guide walk you and the horse through the trail to the water fall and back. Once you get close to the waterfall you must still walk a long distance. The waterfall was beautiful! But the climb back up to your house is very hard unless you’re in good shape. We then rode the horse back and had lunch. It was local food and reminded us of the food we cook in Louisiana. We use a little more seasoning but it was very good. We then took a bus to a beach that was beautiful. We received a free drink and had some local item to shop. The beach was beautiful. We had a photographer follow us throughout the tour. And was able to get all the photos downloaded to our phone for 60.00 We then took a boat ride back and loaded up on a bus that took us to another bus that took us back to the resort. The person that we bought the excursion from told us we would return to the resort at 6:30. We had a 7:30 reservation at the Teppanyaki restaurant. We arrived at 7:30 and was forced to go to the restaurant dirty and not properly dressed. Overall we enjoyed the tour even though it stormed that morning. We did love 24 hour room service no charge all free. We loved our swim out room but it had no ocean view. We loved our swim it being an adult only resort. The sand on the beach was not white but the water was beautiful. We found their drinks watered down but they tasted good. We rented a car to go out and explore. They drive on the same side of the road as the US and even though we had bad reports of the way people drive reckless, it was no worse than driving in Houston TX. Please prepare for ample time at the airport. The lines are very very long.

Secrets Tides, Punta Cana is excellent.
Meals are wonderful. Restaurants are plentiful and did not require reservations. Beach Huts were plentiful and did not have to be reserved. Beach service was excellent, as were bars and restaurants. All staff were very friendly. Water had a bit of undertow and lifeguards were ever vigilant.
