Pedro in Market Cafe was excellent! Very attentive. He says "Save water, drink Mimosa" with a smile. Made my mornings! His bussers Manolo E. And Manolo B. Are always clearing plates asap. Super fun breakfast experience.
UNPLANED LAST MINUTE TRIP
+Wife and I stayed Aug 18 – 23 Preferred Room 2622, two previous trips to the Vine last one around 2017. Resort is still in very good condition and service was good. Great news not sure what the occupancy rate was but no problem getting a lounger by the pool, beach, or Preferred Pool later in the morning no need to get up at the crack of dawn to get a spot, definitely liked leaving the room 9 – 10 in the morning eating breakfast and still having a choice of places to relax. Food at the restaurants was good, had the grilled sea bass at the Blue Water, Thai Chicken at Dragons, Short Rib at Sea Salt and grilled salmon at Olio, tried the Pork Adobo at Sea Salt not what I expected and not good. Did not do room service, drinks at all bars was good, thank you Angel at the Preferred area, and Yolonda our room keeper. Had some good entertainment at night. Something new the beach is now shared with the public found that to be unusual but no problem. Couple of things if you are planning a trip here or anywhere in Cancun, I am sure you heard about the VISTAX. We booked our trip through EXPEDIA and when you click on Things to Do there is a link that takes you to the VISTAX web site, that’s where I paid the tax, also there is no more paperwork it is all on line for Mexico Immigration the airline does not issue the immigration form anymore. So I paid the VISTAX first then I went to the Immigration form website, it will ask for your VISTAX confirmation info and use most of that info. We arrived Cancun Terminal 3 shortly after 1 pm we used the new E gates, passport is scanned picture is taken you get a receipt and you are on your way we were at the Resort in just a little over an hour after stepping of the plane. All in all trip was not planned, just a last minute thing and it was great. Secrets the Vine got to give them Five Stars.
Came to dragon restaurant, the waiter Oscar was amazing, did a great job taking care of us. Very attentive to everyones needs, always there when needing something. It felt like we were his only table but in fact he had multiple tables but thats how attentive and great he was. The chef was amazing as well he came out and acknowledged everyones dietery restrictions and did an amazing job accommodating them.
Poor service left disappointed
This was my first trip to Cancun and an all inclusive resort. I would have to say I was extremely disappointed in the service. This hotel did not have a welcoming feel. The staff were very stiff and seemed to genuinely not like their jobs. I really felt a disdain from the staff for the guests. I spent a decent amount in tipping throughout my stay but I have to say that the service just got worse. The beach and pool were great and relaxing. The weather was also good throughout our stay but you would not receive any assistance. We entered the beach area one day and asked for chairs to be told there were none while we were staring directly at the pile of chairs. Another day , staff watched while we pulled our own chairs on the beach. The food was below average. It was cold and rubbery and lacked any flavor. I have to say I didn’t enjoy any of the meals the time I was there. We ended up spending much more eating outside of the resort. Our room was ok but did not care for the layout of the bathroom. It was inside the area of the room instead of a separate space. The shower and toilet were split and did not offer much privacy. The sinks were also on opposite ends of the room. I would have to say I would not be returning to this resort and it really left me with a negative impression overall. I’ve travelled throughout the US and Europe and this was the only time where I did not fully enjoy my stay.
We had dinner at Dragons and all I can say is WOW! We had Oscar as our server and he was absolutely amazing. It was an experience we will never forget. Also, the chef Isidro was great, he came by our table to make sure everything was ok. We very happy with the service!
