    Super fun trip for couples!

We absolutely loved our stay here. Walking into the gorgeous lobby, before my handed a cool towel was refreshing and the reception staff was very helpful. Our room was clean, and the beds and pillows were comfy. The beach was clean, the pools were fun, and the food was delicious- we especially loved our meal at Bordeaux- the French restaurant, our servers- Hector & Felix were top notch, and made the evening so special. We have travelled many times, lots of resorts & cruises, and I can honestly say this was the BEST staff and service we have ever received. Wilkin and the breakfast crew were super attentive and we legit looked forward to seeing them each morning. The head chef makes the most amazing dulce de leche ice cream- the best ice cream I’ve ever had. The staff at the foid stand on the beach was great and we loved the “sexy cheeseburgers”! Our waiter on the beach- Samuel- was quick with drink refills and super attentive. Bethanial was a big help with our luggage, and the salsa dancing teacher- Andres was “mucho” fun. 5 nights was great- but 7 night would have been better!

    Perfect birthday trip!

Everything at this resort was perfect. The grounds, the staff, the buffet. I have never been so relaxed. A special thanks to Wilkin, Francisco J, Ramoncito, Cristian, Cesar P, Mariam, Sonia, Dany! I am definitely coming back and recommending to friends! Wilkin, thank you so much for finding us the Carmel ice cream on our last visit. We loved being a part of the family.

    Heaven on Earth

This was a fabulous experience, seeped in luxury and beauty. Everything from the cuisine and cocktails to the beautifully appointed room with its balcony and jacuzzi were top notch. The pools were beckoning me for a swim, but the gorgeous blue green sea and soft sand lured my friends and I to spend hours sipping cocktails in our shaded beach chairs. We did break for totally relaxing massages. The night life was varied and plentiful, with shows, dance lessons, a disco, casino and of course karaoke. But the most memorable part of this vacation was the care and attentiveness shown by the staff members, especially our guide and personal “butler,” Emmanuel. I will be back, Secrets!

    What a great stay

This place is very nice with great food, wonderful staff and beautiful beaches. We stayed in Preffered section with a butler assigned to us. Super Brian was outstanding, checked on us everyday and handled all of our requests.

Great place to relax in the sunshine

We just returned from a week at Secrets Royal Beach. Check-in at the preferred lounge was quick and easy. It only took about 15 minutes. Ramses was assigned as our butler. He gave us an overview of the resort and its amenities as he brought us to our room. We were in room 3360, a preferred, Jr. Suite, Tropical View room. We were celebrating our 30th anniversary, so we rented a two-story cabana on the beach on our anniversary day and ended that day with dinner at Bordeaux. The cabana cost $175. We picked a great day. We had blue skies and warm weather all day. The servers were very attentive. Our anniversary dinner was the best meal of the week. We both ordered steak and picked a wine off the wine list. The wine I picked wasn't available, so we got a visit from the maitre d', Alejandro who suggested three other bottles with similar pricing. I hadn't heard of any of them (2 Spanish and 1 Italian), but based on Alejandro's input, I picked the Italian one and it was excellent. Our server, Felix, was lively. Alejandro came back a few times to ensure we were enjoying our wine. We developed a good rapport with them. They made the night more enjoyable. Over the week we ate at Bordeaux (twice), El Patio, Bluewater Grill, Himitsu (twice, once at the show table and once off the menu), Oceana (at Dreams), Olio (preferred breakfast and lunch only), and La Riviera (buffet and breakfast only). They served lunch a couple times at the main pool. It was grilled meats with sides. They had chicken, sausage and ribs. It was pretty good. Bordeaux and the Himitsu show table were our favorites. The only one I wouldn't go back to is Bluewater Grill. The food at Bluewater was decent, but it was very loud in there. We sat in the middle section of the restuarant which is the largest section with the highest ceilings. There was lots of echo. It was like eating in a gymnasium. We couldn't hear ourselves talk. I couldn't wait to get out. They served a beer I hadn't heard of before called Cavita. It came in Ligera and Rubio. We stayed at this resort in 2020 and I don't remember that brand. It might be new. I liked the Rubio. Both are better than Presidente. The mixed drinks were hit and miss. Some were good; others not so much. A lot depended on your bartender. My wife ordered a margarita one day that was not recognizable as a margarita. Another time, she ordered a screwdriver and got vodka with something more like Sunny Delight. If you're a mixed drink fan, find a bartender you like and stick with them. We did an excursion with Punta Cana Mike (Mike Bryant) to Higuey City where many of the resort's employees live. On the way, we stopped at a Punta Cana elementary school and for beer and dominoes at a carwash outside Higuey City. In the city we visited the open-air market, the Catholic Basilica of Our Lady of Altacgracia as well as the original Catholic church in the city, St. Dionysios, built in the early 1500's. On the way back, we stopped at Don Lucas and learned about cigars, rum and chocolate -- all made from Dominican-grown tobacco, sugar cane and cacao. We also did a 3 hour master class on cigars with Bert van Kol at his home in Punta Cana and learned a lot about cigars. Our butler, Ramses, was very good. He checked in with us every day, texted us a .pdf of the daily events newsletter, made dinner reservations for us and, most importantly, got maintenance issues taken care of quickly. We had three issues that needed attention and, in every case, Ramses had maintenance in our room within an hour of reporting the problem to him. Except for the day of our Higuey excursion, we had plentiful sunshine and temps in the mid-80s (about 30C). We had a great week.
