Needing a Beach Holiday
The room was nice, but the music was loud, we were told that everything shuts down at 10p.m. but it does not. The food is good, not over the top, the Asian restaurant was the best. The gardens could be kept up better. There were dishes and towels in the bushes that were not picked up.

The best Secrets ever. The Beat thing about Seceets is the staff they are all so personable and friendly.we will be back
This is an amazing resort. Very different from any other secrets that we have been too, the rooms are on there own, they are duplexes only 2 units in each building. The grounds are stunning, views are incredible. The staff are so good friendly and personable. There is a quiet area with its own pool and bar. No music and so calming and relaxing. This is a non smoking resort as is most of Costa Rica This is the best Secrets we have been to and we are members. Yazniry in the entertainment staff is the sweetest person so friendly and genuine. The beach goes on for miles with the nicest sand. We saw howler monkeys white face monkeys iguanas all over.

Vacation with Friends at Secrets Resort
Visited with friends. The resort was beautiful, great view, with amazing food and entertainment. The best thing about this resort is the people that work there. We have never met more friendly, kind, helpful, pleasant people! We were a little worried when we saw the hills and we would want transportation from our room 419 to restaurant/pool area. When you call for transportation, the amazing drivers come within a few minutes. Geiner, Harold, Mike, Eli, Nelson and Henry were so pleasant and provided excellent service. The bartenders William, Jose and Guillermo were so friendly and provided excellent service. Armando at Seaside Grill provided the 8 of us with a beautiful, outside dinner table, facing the ocean. It was so elegant, we felt like celebrities! The #1 person from the resort was Merarie, from Enertainment. She has the best personality. She is kind, fun and has so much energy. She makes sure everyone is included and having fun. Fabiana and Fatima were great too! We would highly recommend this resort.

Great vacation with friends
This was our first time in Costa Rica and at Secrets Papagayo. We went with another couple and we all four had a good time. We used FRANK THE TANK for transport to the hotel from another hotel 2 hours away, great service. We also used his service for a private all day tour for the four of us, saw waterfalls, monkeys, sloths, frogs, had a tour of coffee plantation, lunch, a mud bath and hot springs. a fun way to see some of the sites. This resort is very different from most Secrets we have been to, it had a cottage feel to me, the bungalow rooms are all up the hills, but you can call a van for a ride. It is small, only 200 rooms, but spread out over a hilly property. There are only r a la carte restaurants and the buffet. As we were preferred guests, we could have an a la carte breakfast and lunch at the Seaside, we were were served every day by Marcos, Christian and Nelly, with a great ocean view. Seaside and Himitsu were our fav for dinner, Agua, and Barefoot Grill for lunch, and of course every morning the Coco Cafe for coffee. There were two pools, the main pool where the activities were was very busy, we did not like it after lunch as it got dirty with all leaves blowing in it (windy most days), and because it was usually windy, we could not keep up the umbrellas and it was very hot. The quiet pool by the spa, was nice, very relaxing. There were a few bali beds by both pools that you could reserve at no cost the day before, we did not try one. We had a couples massage at the spa and it was very good. No real hydrotherapy, just a woman's and separate men's sauna and hot tub. Overall the layout and the hotel grew on us, but I do not feel its my taste and unsure if I would go back. The weather got warmer as the week went on and I being a sun lover actually sat in the shade the last few days.

Recommend for a week
Lovely staff, clean & well maintained. Food great. Accommodation great too. Quiet pool lovely but main pool very loud with party types particularly in the afternoon. Sun beds could be improved. Entertainment basic. Drinks good. A week is more than enough though.
