Come for the beach stay for the people
Second time at the resort - first since it became adults only. Overall it’s great value for the price. Beach amazing. Staff terrific. Rooms are good. Food runs from really good to okay. The staff are amazing - Michelle making sure everyone is having a good time. Stefano took excellent care of our needs. Fausto ensure we had drinks. Eddie was patient and kind with umbrellas and wet towels when it poured. The beach is amazing. The ocean is blue with very little seaweed. Lots of loungers. Pools are three and well maintained. The Bali beds are no charge but a bit of an Olympic sport. I’m up early and the last time I could go down at 7 am with my coffee and find one available. This time folks were putting out their towels the night before. Highly recommend that management do a sweep and put everything in a lost and found if it’s there before 6 am. Such a shame to see people leaving slippers and towels out at night and not showing up until 11 am or later to make use of the beds and loungers. Rooms are comfortable with basic amenities including slippers etc. no robes. Water was hot and AC was cool. Food- loved the Italian although would prefer crusty bread over rolls. Recommend the eggplant and the risotto. Seasons- I don’t know what to say. Fish was undercooked the second night we went. First night the food was okay. Had the steak. But heard from folks that they found the steak unappetizing when they went. Gajin hibachi was quite good. Alessandro made a very appetizing meal for us. Surprising as usually it’s only so-so at resorts. The buffet. Well. I don’t know. First off the seating is bizarre with chairs being way too low for the tables. Breakfast didn’t offer much staples and there is no omelette station if that’s your thing. It was very Mexican themed breakfast I guess? We booked through Expedia so had access to breakfast at St Trop and did eggs and toast or the Açai bowl most mornings. Tended to have e our lunches there as well. Same limited menu each day and would recommend they consider changing it a couple of times a week. Rocito and Rosalia provided cheerful service regardless of how busy St Trop was. Surprisingly we did lunch at the buffet the day it was Asian themed and it was quite good. I think a lot can be done food wise because Hotel NYX up the road also has limited restaurants but food quality and taste and variety is better. In terms of staff thought, these guys are great. Oh. And shout out to Rey from the maintenance team who managed to deal with a minor issue using google translate with my limited (non-existent) Spanish.

Great things come in smaller packages sometimes.
Though it may not be as large as some resorts it stand head and shoulders above them. Reviewing Sandos Cancun is a breeze. The food is fantastic, the beach is lovely, and there are plenty of chairs and cabanas to soak in the ocean view. The restaurants really shine—Season, in particular, serves the best steak in town if you opt for the aged beef. Our waiter, Pedro, was fabulous and made the experience even better.

Great trip for the money
Amazing blue water and great night time entertainment and daily excursions. Spa massages were great. Biggest gap was not having a working jacuzzi hot tub in pool area…c’mon need to get this done guys. There are few not-to-hard to fix suggestions for improvement. Need to fix shower that leaks onto floor in bathroom.

We enjoyed the pool time and particularly the Aquaerobics with Michelle! Need more activities and night time shows!
The private dinner in the Seasons veranda room was very special. We had Lobster tail which was very nice. The pumpkin creme soup was the best. Lorenzo, our server, was polite, friendly and efficient. Thank you to Ili from Royal Elite office who arranged our dinner and was so helpful in resolving a problem. Eddie at the pool was so helpful in assuring we had a cabana each day. He was friendly and professional. He made our stay more fun. The service and food and drink at St Trop was very good. Loved the Blue Hawaiian drink, calamari, nachos and hamburgers.

Not a 4 or 5 star Property
We visited Sandos Cancun Feb 21/25 to Mar 1/25 along with 4 other adults. We all upgraded to the black wristband elite program. We have visited many Mexican resorts in the past so we knew what to expect in Mexico. This is a very small property that has limited amenities. It is not a 4* resort and is barely a 3* property. The resort is very clean with a great beach that is located not far from the airport (20 min by cab). The staff works hard at customer service, but they lack proper training coupled with poor management. The only exceptions are the lively pool team which is very energetic and a very good gym facility. A tall resort beside the Sandos completely blocks out the sun at noon to 2 of the 3 pools and at 3 pm to the 3rd pool. Our black wristbands were a waste of money as they offered very few exclusive amenities. The rooms were always clean and the beds were comfortable. There are only 3 a la carte restaurants available for dinner and only the Japanese restaurant was very good. The other 2 were plagued with poor service and limited menus. The buffet had lots of casserole type dishes but no omelet stations or specialized grills. Two in our group were Celiac and could not have gluten but the chefs made a good effort to accommodate them in the buffet and restaurants if you asked for help. If you are very sensitive to gluten then cross contamination might be an issue. The a la cart breakfasts at the St Trop beach cafe which was part of the black wrist band upgrade was poorly done and the service was so bad that breakfast turned into a major inconvenience. The 2 special event dinners had loud entertainment occurring while eating which made it difficult to socialize and enjoy the meals. The only other evening entertainment was the occasional singer or musician at one of the bars, or a very bizarre disco venue which was poorly attended. Overall the weather and the beach were amazing and that is what a getaway is all about. We would not go back or recommend this property as it is not up to the standards you would expect from an adult only 4 * or 5*all inclusive resort.
